elywow25 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2017 Just downloaded elysium wow game client last night. Played for a few hours no problem, then tried to log back on and play. Now every time that I log in and hit 'Enter World,' the loading bar fills up and then sits there until my computer eventually bsods (DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE). When I restart, boot into safe mode, and run devmgmt.msc, I find that the culprit (yellow sign with exclamation point) is Generic PnP Monitor. I have uninstalled it a number of times, deleted the WTF/Interface folders, updated my graphics drivers, tried launching from wow.exe and launcher.exe... Nothing seems to fix the problem. While doing some additional troubleshooting I found that my computer also bsods (with the same error) if I click and drag the client folder into another location on my hard drive. After realizing this, I even tried deleting, and re-unraring the client folder onto my computer. No dice... thoughts? 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

elywow25 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2017 Ok. Quick update. You were definitely on to something when you suggested compatibility settings. But there is another problem. Here's where we are so far... Yesterday morning, after some additional troubleshooting, I decided to go ahead and just reformat my computer (figured I'd start with a clean slate). As expected, this solved part of the problem - the BSODs. However, upon attempting to open the newly installed game client, I began to have some issues - mainly that it would take two instances of wow.exe in order to run. Put another way, if I double clicked the client once, it would show up in task manager as a process but would not open. If I double clicked a second time, the game would launch. I then tried, as per your post, to mess with the compatibility settings. After a bit of trial and error I finally decided to do away with the changes and revert back to the client's original settings. For some reason, this seemed to do the trick. This lead me to assume that the game had been, all along, attempting to launch (perhaps due to some outside program like NVIDIA geForce Experience) with some wacky compatibility settings, and that, by manually reverting back to the program's default state, the problem was solved. However... After playing for a few hours, I decided to install some addons... This brought me back to square one. Immediately, I began having DRIVER_STATE_POWER_FAILURE BSODs again. After rebooting in Safe Mode, and uninstalling the affected driver (Generic PnP Monitor), I decided to delete the World of Warcraft folder, clean my registry, and re-unRAR the folder. The problem now seems to be this (and btw, I am still having BSODs)... When I reinstalled the game folder, and attempted to launch wow.exe, I noticed that, rather than open with default graphics (1024x???... or whatever the game automatically starts up with), and instead of opening with the introductory cinematic, the game opened up with the graphic/sound settings from the previous install. This would point to there being additional files on my system that were not deleted before reinstalling the client. My question is... where are these files??? I have conducted a few drive searches using the keywords 'blizzard,' 'battle,' 'battle.net,' 'wow,' 'warcraft,' etc. and was able to delete some additional files (primarily located within the appdata folder). However, the problem persists. Any ideas?... If not, I'll likely have to reformat once again, and create a Windows Restore Point just in case I run into this issue again. Ellipsea 36 Report post Posted February 21, 2017 WTF. What a fucking mess. Don't know if ya did this, but make sure the new wow folder is not in program files and you are operating as administrator.
