Grimzul 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 (edited) Hello, Since yesterday i am having a problem with the 2FA (I've been using the mobile app for like 1 month, never had problems) I've been trying over and over again with a new code, even re-installed the mobile app and re-scan the 16-digit-code from my email - still not working. I am getting this every time. I've tried to log in from the site: I've deleted WDB and WTF folder couple of times. Still nothing. For some reason a new generated code is not accepted... Please help. Grimzul 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 Hello unknown-anonymous, I just fixed the problem. Like i said it was from the 2FA app, it was not hacked. If someone faces the same problem in the future just install the windows version and link your authenticator account.
Jawohl 3 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 You need to save the Email you get for the Authentication registration. If you miss that code / QR you are going to be unable in restoring your accounts to the new device. One friend of mine is currently in the face of this very same problem of a missing Email. Gmail is unable to restore deleted/disappeared mails, 2FA authenticator wont provide any solution, Google dont provide any solution other than that the responsibility is on the customer using the authenticator to be careful and save the codes for future troubles and / or for the Service provider to establish a recovery system. Elysium started using this 2FA system, but i think they dont have a system in place to repair the possible f'*k ups wich might occur from missing the QR code. Most service providers who use 2FA are able to reset this system from the account if you would so desire, but in order to do so you have to provide information regarding who you are to make it clear you are the owner of the account. ( All this difficulty is most likely the reason, they currently dont have any system in place to do these Resets since only thing they could do is Email verification. BUT, what about if YOU are a hacker and you have the Email under your control and you want to lift the IP lock to steal that account? ). I THINK that they should take in consideration to start working on that restoration possibility soon since alot of people are going to have these same kind of f''k ups as you and my friend, when their phones start to break / disappear. Great deal of the community might have gotten their first touch in 2FA system through this Elysium hacking scandal and might not understand what kind of a system they are entrusting their account with.
Erjh8765 19 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 Nope, the Devs should work towards bug fixing and new content, rather than working to save your sorry ass because you are retarded. We are not your mammy here to bail out from the shit you put yourself into just b/c you can't be bothered to act like a responsible person.
Grimzul 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 For those who are using 2FA my advice is to save that 16-digit code into text document, screenshot, chat history or whatever in case something goes wrong with the email.
