The last couple of days have been a lot of frustration from players, cant log on, dc, no information on whats happening, questioning the staff and server etc. It have actually come to this point that Im also wondering what is going on and what is happening. We all knows its a private server and its a voluntary project among the staff. But... there is always a but. I love the idea of creating a world for the players, the original idea of Vanilla. But to keep this project up and running you Elysium must treat this as company, because you have actually taking on a responsibility for the players and yourself. Players are contributing with donation to be able to play on this fine project. But if the servers goes down multiple times, with no explanation or information things will be digged deeper of misstrust, frustration and in the end the players wont donate and the project will fall. On this journey you, the staff will just be irritating because your "customers" are not happy. My suggestion is like every working company: Put up some goals, the goals shall ofc be achievable goals. Have a timeline when each goal shall be reachable. Information is important, post it! Its better it take some more time when you are working on a fix and to be sure its working 100% before you are launching/updating. Inform players/customers what is going on. If you are planning an update, inform this at least 24 hours before its taking place. 15 minutes notice is not ok. Restart is a restart, not three hours. Three hours is a maintance.
