Orpheus148 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2017 Hey guys, I had my pc built almost a couple years ago. Here's what I got: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz GTX 980 MSI Z97 Gaming 5 16gb Ram Corsair RM750 I don't have liquid cooling. I'm wanting to upgrade my gpu to MSI GTX 1080, but I was wondering your thoughts on the graphics card itself and the rest of the system. Thanks in advance!
Pur3Lun471c 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2017 yo, if i dont know which other games u playing besides wow but your system is alrdy overkill usually 12 gb ram brings u as far as needed in every game. so what u can do when u wanna give it a try is overclocking or undervolting since it seems to be almost like the evil haswell twin cpu (in terms of heat) i would almost delid that hothead and use some liquid metal paste after cleaning the cheap paste that they using there that would save u atleast 15-25 ° and u could overclock it easier. the 980 u can also tweak abit with msi afterburner but dont change the voltage if u have no idea what ur doing, i currently only have a 280x radeon mysellf and i can play the game with everything on max detail with sweetfx on as a visual boost, so if ur not playing the newest games all day besides vanilla ur save to keep it 1-2 moar years i'd say most new games this days suck anyway but thats my oppinion.

I never really notice it getting to not. Mid 50s to low 60s is what I remember seeing last time I checked. I do play retail from time to time and it's just started running it so poorly on mid to high settings, I have no idea why.
