[A] <Stormlords> Old international guild (est. 2012 on Emerald Dream @Feenix), taking lvl 10+ players. Top class organization, voice chat, banking system, leveling fund, mount fund, gold rewards. Online record: 117.

Recommended Posts

Five years in the WoW legacy scene. 6.500 registered accounts. Members from 90 different nations from all over the globe. The largest community on all previous realms, and still respected like few other. Possibly the most organized guild in the history of World of Warcraft.

Greetings! My ingame name is Moradinn, I am the leader and founder of the

ENJeMXQ.png

Alliance guild of mature players, the oldest one on the realm (established on 31 October 2012 on the grandfather of all 1x Vanilla WoW realms, Emerald Dream @Feenix, R.I.P.), as well as the most active, and heavily structured. In fact we enjoy a slightly militarist setup, despite our overall laidback attitude.

We are an international guild, hence english is the only language allowed in guild chat. Me and my Officers strive to maintain a friendly community, where all of its members can fully enjoy what is probably the best game ever made.

Our 2nd Guild Anniversary Meeting in the Military Ward of Ironforge, Emerald Dream realm, 13 January 2015.

Everyone is welcome to join, long as they can live with our rules, listed here, and that are supposed to be respected even (if not ESPECIALLY) when dealing with members from other guilds or unguilded players:

2) Do not ninja loot
3) Do not be rude
4) Do not ditch groups
5) Do not troll/spam
6) Do not flame
7) Do not abuse
8) Do not make a fuss/drama
9) Do not reserve items
10) Speak english

Your playtime, as well as your time of play, does not really matter: you will always find various Stormlords on for you to play with, whenever you log in. Chances are good that, as we grow in numbers, we will also be able to organize raids for specific time frames, so that EU and US players, for instance, will both have their chance to raid at their respective times and with their respective leaders. As you can guess by the general look of our site, we give much attention to detail, as much as Blizzard itself used to do once, when this game hit the shelves. We try to incarnate the spirit itself from the first World of Warcraft: a game easy to learn, difficult to master. Things in our guild work likewise: you are easily in, yet only the most committed and loyal players will make themselves up to the highest ranks.

Should we describe our guild with but one word, that one would probably be organization. Some of our members have been/are in their national armed forces, so we took advantage of that by implementing features in our guild and website structure which will unlock for members as they progress through our ranks, pretty much like in most of the military: this basically means that everything you will do while in our ranks, be it good or bad, will be kept track of. Meritocracy to the highest degree. Besides, unlike other guilds, that either have a good-looking website to merely please the eye (when they do have a website at all), or a roughly designed one just to provide their members with a page to see their DKPs, we have a domain of our own, a totally ad-free website, a fully-fledged platform that offers several services to our members: a wide Arsenal for all Stormlords to gear up faster and more effectively, a Discord server to keep in touch with one another during downtimes, a tidily structured forum, events calendar, a public screenshots gallery, a Leveling Fund where guildies can obtain gold bonuses, and finally - hear ye hear ye - a Mount Fund for really deserving members. Most of the site sections are hidden to you (they are shown as CLASSIFIED), yet upon your sign up those will all become accessible, even though, as already stated, you will be granted access to more and more features as you progress through the guild ranks, and doing that requires, first of all, time.

Our personal view about guilds as a whole revolves around the sense of community we share: we usually tend to consider ourselves as brothers in arms, and being that every team is as strong as its weakest player, we have to make sure that none of our members is left behind, the higher level characters helping the lowbies out through their leveling endeavor.
This side of the game is deeply encouraged within our community: our specifically designed DKP system lets us take into account the actual contribution every Stormlord gives to the guild. The more help you lend to lowbies, the higher your ratings (and guild rank) will get. The higher your ratings, the better chances you will have to win loot. Should you choose to sign up (you can do that whenever you wish, by simply filling in the enlistment form provided under the Enlistment page), you will be able to learn further around all of this in very much detail. Our website features a monumental statute, within which every single aspect concerning how the guild is managed and how ratings are assigned to members is widely dealt with.

For those of you who would like to learn a bit more before deciding whether our guild is suitable for them or not, here is some answers about the most common questions that arise.

What does the Stormlords tabard look like?

29xw3rp.jpg

Our elegant and much appreciated tabard through the whole of our existence. All rights reserved.

Is there any requirement to be able to join?

Only level 10 characters and higher are allowed to join (note that a naming policy is also enforced). That aside, as long as you agree with our rules and respect them, nothing more will be asked of you.

How do I get an invite to join the Stormlords?

You can either whisper any of our Officers for an invite (you have them all listed at the bottom of our Intro page on our site) or, better yet, sign up to the site by submitting the form provided under the Enlistment page, which will also make you a full member, with complete access to the site and the various guild perks.

What if no Officer is online?

If you do not feel like signing up, just add any of the Officers to your friends list (the most active one is me, Moradinn - alt: Mordamir), and whisper them as they come online. Alternatively, you can type /who g-"Stormlords" to see who is online from our guild, then ask any of them for a Lord ranked member (the lowest rank that has the guild invite command enabled). If you sign up to site, on the other hand, you will be added to my friends list and invited as soon as possible.

Is registration to the site mandatory?

No. You can join us without registering, although your guild rank will remain the lowest one (Squire) until you do, and access to our site and resources will be forbidden to you. Registration only takes few seconds, so you are heartily encouraged to do it.

What benefits come from registering?

Firstly, you will become an official and fully entitled member of the Stormlords. Secondly, you will be granted access to the various site sections and functionalities, including (yet not limited to) our private forum and the guild Arsenal. As you may know, a site greatly boosts communication between guild mates, something that simply cannot rely on the ingame guild chat alone; moreover, it is the best mean to keep all Stormlords up to date as to what is happening and what it is useful to know guild-wise.

What about current raid progression and schedule?

Back on our first realm (Emerald Dream) we progressed as far as 2/8 through Blackwing Lair with our very first raid core - spring 2014 - then we had a second core formed later from scratch - summer 2014 - where we would clear all content up to 3/8 Blackwing Lair. We plan to build up and slowly forge our raiders internally, thus never ditching our leveling bracket, which I have learnt to be quite a challenge. Right now we are hosting PuGs for Molten Core, until our raiding ranks have grown enough to let us manage the most advanced endgame content internally.

What is the guild Arsenal?

It is our private, in-house banking system. It basically lets our members exchange items with one another, giving out what they do not need and replacing it with something they can use. The more someone donates to the Arsenal, and the higher the quality, the greater the amount of Coins they will get from it. Coins are the Stormlords inner currency, usable from our members to withdraw gear and other items from the Arsenal.

What is the Leveling Fund?

It is a peculiar feature offered by our guild to its registered members. In a word, it is a donation in gold from the Guild Treasury to a requesting member, it can only be requested once per member and its amount is solely determined by the member's rank: the higher one's rank, the richer said amount (so, of course, the later it is requested, the better). One cannot decide how much to request: the amount is rank-related and set. It starts at 1AsUinsF.png for the lowest registered rank (Recruit) and doubles up at each further promotion. Being it a once-in-a-lifetime bonus, after it has been enacted it is not available anymore to that member. The highest amount is 80AsUinsF.png (sure enough getting to the guild rank of Senator, which makes a member eligible for such a bonus, is definitely not an easy task nor is it reachable overnight). Here is the table showing all registered guild ranks and the amount of gold each of them is entitled to.

qaSMdz4.png

Our registered ranks. Stormlord and Senator are both Officer ranks.

What is the Mount Fund?

It is a 80AsUinsF.png funding allocated once a month for the first level 39 member who requires it and has the guild rank of Lord (along with a totally spotless disciplinary status, of course). Therefore, level 10-38 and 40/40+ characters, as well as Warlocks and Paladins (who can get their mount for free at level 40) are never going to be eligible for it.

What are these gold rewards?

They are about special guild activities that award gold prizes, organized to encourage either a healthy competition or cooperation between our members, with the ultimate goal of highlighting the most valuable players PvP and PvE-wise, respectively. When it comes to inside competition, such initiatives consist of PvP contests, tipically (yet not limitedly) held during world PvP events, where guild members who complete certain achievements (such as the highest number of HKs) are awarded nice amounts of gold. Initiatives to encourage teamwork in PvE, on the other hand, revolve around guild runs of the various dungeons, where group members who successfully complete any of the instances take part in lotteries for up to 60AsUinsF.png. Feel free to check our Trophies Room for further information about our PvE and PvP progression and related rewards.

What about PvP activities and long term plans for the guild?

Since it is our firm intention to clear whatever content the game has to offer, be it PvE or PvP, we will be committing ourselves as much as possible to the latter as well. That implies winning battlegrounds with full guild groups (including Alterac Valley), organizing Horde city raids and maybe even do all we can to help a guildie achieve the rank of Grand Marshal. We consider PvP to be the real proving ground and the ultimate objective for anyone who has endgame content on farm. In true vanilla spirit, we look at PvE BiS gear as the best mean to properly face the enemy faction, rather than mere pixels to show off while AFK'ing in our own capitals. Once we should have a couple full raid cores clad in T3, with Horde cities razed and all battlegrounds conquered, I guess we will start to feel an unstoppable attraction towards something that lies deep in the heart of the Blasted Lands... but that is another story.

Is the guild interested in open world PvP, or guild events in general?

Yeah, absolutely. Everything that involves the realm community and brings players together, is what brings a server to life in our opinion. We actually took part in both kind of things in the past: we did not miss the Warzone (open world PvP) events that were had on our previous realm, Emerald Dream - you can see some footage of the most successful one that happened there in May 2013 here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OI54sL07aJc

Maybe the thing that made ED great in its prime: community. We look forward to see something like this happen on Kronos. At 0:37 and 1:33 you can clearly see members wearing our tabard right in front of the camera.

As far as the guild goes, the following video shows how we celebrated our 2nd anniversary on that server, back in January 2015, where special gifts were handed out and nice gold given away (by the way, the image you can see on top of this post was taken that very day):

Will anything be asked of me, should I be some kind of casual-oriented player?

No, our members are given total freedom as to how much time they dedicate to their character(s) and the time of the day they prefer to play at. We are an international guild, as we have clearly stated, and our members are from all over the world, meaning they play from very different time zones. However, a limit of 5 (five) offline days is the threshold for undeclared inactivity, and the maximum allowed to members with the lowest guild rank (unregistered to our site). Registered members, on the other hand, can be absent for longer periods if they just let us know that in advance.

Are alts allowed?

Hardly. Due to the fact that guild membership is capped, several factors are taken into consideration when deciding whether an alt should be granted access or not (i.e. its main's guild rank, the alt's own level, the level of activity that can be expected from it, and so on). However, the minimum level requirement (10) also applies to alts.

IMPORTANT: if you are not a member of our guild and catch a Stormlord violating any of the rules listed above, you are welcome to take as many screenshots as needed and contact one of our Officers or, better yet, me personally, to report what happened. We, as a mature guild, devote ourselves towards the improvement of the community within the Alliance, and I would like to remark once more that we ask every member to go by said rules even (if not ESPECIALLY) when dealing with players outside of our guild. Likewise, you are welcome to report helpful members of ours as well: both you and the member you report shall be rewarded!

Last but not least, here is a few screenshots of part of the positive feedback our guild has received on our previous realm, Kronos (you can find much more of it here):

cnLB3rE.png Guild rule number 9 changed. New rule: Do not reserve items. Our guild is enforcing this in accordance to our policy of fair play, we have nothing against outsiders who follow this practice (or guildies who should join them at all), but Stormlords members are not allowed to reserve anything when looking for groups;

cnLB3rE.png Due to my absence for work over the first decade of August, requests for invite should be addressed to Gnoamchomsky, Polnoch, Drakovics, Frozenwinter and Zadezero.

cnLB3rE.png Our guild has now reached the Elysium membership cap (321 members), thus entering Limited Recruitment Mode: we will only be able to invite new players as spots are made available by leavers and/or removed inactives;

cnLB3rE.png We are letting people who should submit our Enlistment Form enter a waiting list for the following 5 (five) days: they will be added to my friends list ingame and, whenever there should be spots available, I will check that first and invite them if found online. After 5 days, said forms expire and are therefore cancelled;

cnLB3rE.png The maximum offline period allowed to non-registered guildies (rank: Squire) is 5 days. Longer periods are only available to registered members upon request.

One doesn't simply join the Stormlords.

cnLB3rE.png We are currently stable at position #15 among the Alliance guilds by total XP (although we appear as #3 overall and #1 between the Alliance guilds here). Here we come China...

cnLB3rE.png We are in the process of evaluating possible times for our future raid schedule, and have a candidate Raid Leader in his final stage of leveling;

cnLB3rE.png We are generally not accepting alts anymore, exceptions are only made for high ranked members and under the condition that their alts are actively played and leveled up;

cnLB3rE.png We are receiving awesome feedback by the community on a daily base, thanks everyone who appreciates what we are trying to accomplish and especially those who are actively working towards that goal;

cnLB3rE.png We are being literally swarmed by requests to join that we cannot grant. Right now and for the rest of this month (August 2017), the best way to enter our ranks is by sending this form and being added to our waiting list;

cnLB3rE.png Our apologies to all those we have to turn down. Plans to expand are currently being worked on, by the next 1st of September we promise each and every one of you will have a spot assured.

cnLB3rE.png Our guild has been successfully expanded to double up its normal capacity (from 321 to 642 spots); our recruitment is now open again with no further need for people to wait in queue!

cnLB3rE.png Those who would like to be invited right away are free to whisper my alt, Incanuss, whenever they wish;

cnLB3rE.png The new influx of players has currently brought us between the 10th and 11th position within the top Alliance guilds by XP.

cnLB3rE.png Yesterday's late afternoon/early evening we established our new online record since our move to Elysium, with 101 guildies online at the same time, beating our previous record of 96 from just two days ago;

cnLB3rE.png Later today we are hosting our very first Molten Core PuG, at 7:00 PM (ST). Loot system: MS > OS. All those willing to participate are welcome to show up in time and whisper Hoskar for invite;

cnLB3rE.png To all my italian brethren out there: with currently 20 active italian players in total we are pretty much the largest italian community within the Alliance, feel free to whisper myself (Moradinn) or any of my officers (ThranixRorszhachHardcorelife or Portya) if you would like to be added.

cnLB3rE.png With yesterday's hosted Molten Core PuG we managed to clear 3/10 of it (had to stop due to preset time expired). Our Main Tank, on his very first raid EVER, was able to obtain the first Bindings of the Windseeker. Now that is what you call being a predestined...

cnLB3rE.png The raid will continue next monday, at the same time: 7:00 PM (ST);
