2-factor auth. unable to verify

I click https://imgur.com/VsoKDsc "Enable IP lock with authenticator" - an email is sent/recieved

I scan the QR code and the app begins throwing 6-digit combos at me every 10sec

I click link from email "Enable IP lock with authenticator" - sent to new page

I wait for new code to pop up and enter it in the "Confirm IP lock with authenticator" 

and it tell me this https://imgur.com/SrNbWY3 "The six-digit code you provided did not work. Please provide the latest one from the application"

but i'm like "yo that code is a half second old and still has a good 8 seconds left before a new one pops up what are you talking about?"

Any help would be awesome! lmk what the deal is/how to fix please!
