[A] Ooze (10/10 MC, 1/1 Ony, 4/8 BWL), new late night NA guild w/geared & experienced leadership

Recommended Posts

Who We Are

Greetings, everyone. <Ooze> (10/10 MC, 1/1 Ony, 4/8 BWL) is an up-and-coming guild that is quickly assembling it's core. Lead by a small core of geared & experienced players (T2 BiS-main tank, and a few BWL-geared DPS/heals), we are focused on competing for the first AQ40 and Naxx clears on the server. We felt that our previous guild was being lead in the wrong direction, and we know that there’s others out there who feel the same. Our goal is to give you an opportunity to enjoy raiding and have fun again, with like-minded people who share your dedication to top performance, showing up to a raid with enchants/consumes, and above all else, a positive attitude. If you’re also tired of the class that you’re currently raiding with, re-rollers are also accepted. By the end of this post, we hope that <Ooze> is everything that you’ve been looking for!

Raid Times

Thursday, Sunday, and Tuesday, 9 pm PST - 12 am PST (6 am server - 9 am server). Raid invites will go out 30 minutes prior, and an Onyxia head will be dropped in Stormwind 15 minutes prior.

Raiding Requirements

90%+ attendance, gear fully enchanted, and full raid consumables is required (flasks only required for progression, but encouraged for top performance).

Raid Details

We will start off with one solid MC/BWL raid, 2 split Onyxia raids (at least ~20 people each), and 2 ZG raids. The Onyxia/ZG teams will both have a set roster, with possible changes based on loot needs. We will also reach out to other guilds and cooperate with them on killing world bosses, especially in patch 1.8 when the four green world dragons are released.

Loot System

We use a loot council system with emphasis on fairness. We want everyone who consistently shows up to raids, contributes to the guild, and plays their class well to be rewarded for it accordingly. We will not have someone listed next in line for loot and then change it at the last minute. The officers will not hoard all of the loot for themselves. Ultimately, we want loot distribution to be objectively fair and maximize guild efficiency.

While we’re still pugging raids at 1st, the loot system will be rolls with MS>OS +1. Check the Elysium PvE forums for more details on our first pugs.

I’ll keep this relatively short for now. We will be using Discord during raids, and already one set up. If you think that <Ooze> might be the guild for you, hit me up in-game with any questions you may have, and I would be happy to answer them. Lets kill some dragons together :).

If this sounds like you:

bring consumables to every raid

get DM buffs + songflower

open to learning new things to improve performance

looking for fair, organized and experienced leadership

value mature, respectful environment

Then we want to talk to you.

I might be interested, but I'm curious if you guys could clarify:

When you say "value respect," do you mean just not being needlessly abrasive? That is, are you going to be ok with an environment that has a little bit of friendly ribbing and bants? No unnecessary fun-policing, yeah?

Edit: Also, how are opposed would your guild be to non-standard specs? A ret paladin or a boomkin for example?

Yeah, friendly ribbing is cool. We are all on the same team and we all want to be successful so derision is unnecessary.

We have one feral Druid, but we are still looking for a shadowpriest. We are considering ret and boomkin on a case by case basis. A dedicated/skilled player with full world buffs, consumables,100% attendance and a great attitude goes a loooong way

Hi. Yes, by "respect," I mean exactly what you said; not being needlessly abrasive. I'm all about people poking fun at each other though. This game would be pretty boring otherwise.

Speaking of poking fun at people, you asked about rets and moonkins. I would be willing to allow one of each per raid, however I tend to hold non-standard specs to a higher standard than standard specs. For example, if I were to see a moonkin with +29 arcane dmg shoulders, I would expect him to shell out the ~100g for the +30 arcane dmg ones. IMO, you have to go the extra mile to prove yourself when choosing to play a non-standard spec in a raid. In addition, you would have to prove yourself to be an exceptional example of your class, and be near the top of the meters compared to other raiding rets & moonkins on the server (this applies for kitty druids as well).

As far as bear druids go, we actually have one in our guild already, who has proved himself in MC to be a skilled & knowledgable player. Personally I've tanked most of BWL as a feral druid, and while they do have their shortcomings, I know that it can be done, and that bringing one feral OT to a raid is worthwhile. As for prot paladins...talk to me when we get to Outland.

As far as talking to you about prof pal lies when you get to outland you mean:

Prot paladins are still Garbo and only necessary on felmyst so you can single tank the boss. A case could be made for hyjal, but, bears and warriors > prot pally. Except on felmyst.

That's pretty much true, that they're only needed on Felmyst (and M'uru, imo). That comment was my attempt at humor, implying that prot pallys become a lot better in TBC than they are now. Sorry to see that it went over your head.
