New Priest, introducing myself.

How's it.

I just wanted to jump on here and chat about all things priest relevant to our server.

I have practically played wow since Vanilla. Cho'Gall / Bonechewer were my servers. I was under 15 years of age at the time however, lol.

I am not embarrassed to admit that this is my first time choosing a character so that I can core heal. I have never played the role of a healer in end game content. Any and all genuine advice and suggestions are appreciated.

I am mainly on here to ask about leveling.. Is it viable to level up disc, or is shadow much more productive? I Seek to level cap ASAP, I am not a fan of leveling. Never been one to enjoy the process of multiple characters.

I guess it really depends on your play style and how much you want to do solo. I leveled as disc/holy and it took about 11 days /played, but that was with a fair amount of time spent maxing out professions and just exploring. So while shadow may be a bit quicker, I don't think it's significant, unless you insist on doing everything alone.  The benefit I see in leveling disc is that it pushes you to work with people more and to get comfortable with the healing play style. It seems silly to me to spend 59 levels using one set of spells, then completely switching over at 60 and having to unlearn the habits developed in all the previous levels. Plus focusing on healing from the beginning will help in befriending a number of tanks, who will end up being there for you whenever you want to run dungeons. If you start off in a friendly, helpful guild, you're going to level quickly with whichever route you choose.

Shadow is the better choice. It is more efficient and more damage with shadow talents and no spell damage (which you will have little of while leveling). If you want to learn to heal while leveling go do a dungeon. First five points into spirit tap, read the guide for leveling and wand selection.
