I really didn't pay the private servers much mind as I got burned out of WoW progression soon after Cata launch. I thought my WoW career was over as I sulked from missing out on the second half of ICC. I never got to enjoy the vanilla experience and, after hearing Blizzard's announcement, my craving and interest peeked again. However, I couldn't wait until 2019-2020 to get started so here I am. Anyways, enough jaw boning. I've been catching up on the deal here in Nighthaven PvP and trying to understand the objective and where it's going before I get fully immersed again. My questions are: from what I understand after browsing the forums a bit, is the server only keeping with the Vanilla content for the next few months then bumping up to TBC? Do I have time to level up a toon and enjoy Vanilla content before then? Or did I pick the wrong relm to get started in? 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Fast-paced progression means that it will take far less than one year to progress from versions 1.2 to 1.12.1 (the exact timeline will be published soon). Additionally, the realm will be featuring progression through expansion. This means once 1.12.1 is launched, the preparation for a transition to TBC will begin!" Now,don't qute me on this, but from what I understand and from what I heard - it will take roughly 1 year for the realm to progress through vanilla content. I expect we will have an official timeline in the next couple of weeks. For my money,this server/realm is your best bet,if you are not willing to wait for blizzard vanilla servers. PIRO 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2017 Well the philosophy of this server has always been to stay as blizzlike as possible (yes,I understand that fast paced progression is not exactly blizzlike). The rates are x1, like you said, I can confirm that.The reason for fast paced progression is that they want the players to experience all vanilla contact before official servers launch.I don't know what else can I tell you - shit is what it is.i'm playing, and having a blast. 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Garthim 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2017 I'm also not a fan of the "fast paced progression". Leveling to 60 is hard, getting enough gear and tuning and getting in a good guild is also hard. None of these are complaints but if the server is going to progress into TBC content in less than 12 months I imagine less than half the player base that started Nov 5th 2017 will have had a chance to experience the full content of Vanilla. 0 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Firkragnaros 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2017 Thanks again all. No, I'm not complaining either. I'm just trying to understand before I get immersed in it as well. I started a mage and got as far as level 9 now, but also heard about the struggles of leveling in vanilla. I was hoping to get a shot at clearing all the vanilla content before the official servers launch, but with a full time job and a wife with a kid on the way I don't see it happening here before TBC. I'm going to stick with it though and just try to learn the classes a bit and figure out what fits me best. I played a prot pally back in my WOLIK days but wanted to try a good dps class since my tanking skills were never super great. If they progress the server through TBC and WOLIK, I might have to switch back to that class and give tanking a shot again since I loved it. My guild never made it past Prof. Putricide though. Cote 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2017 Going from 1.2 to TBC in a year seems a bit rushed, doesn't it? Seems unlikely that many, if any, guilds will be able to mantain 40 consistent-enough raiders through a year to get everyone looted enough through MC, BWL, AQ40, and Naxx.... Personally I think there's still a lot of time unless their plan is for Nighthave to progress all the way up to Cata before Blizzard launches the classic servers. However, I don't think that's their goal. Are they planning to even bring WOLIK? I watched Towelliee's stream the other day and he was even saying that he doesn't see them releasing the classic servers until waaaaay down the road. Even later than 2019 maybe even into 2020. They still haven't even hired the developer team yet and that can even take a long time. There's also no telling how long it will take them to recode all the content to adapt to the current technology we have. Until Blizzard gives more detail about classic servers I don't see any rush.
