We are now recruiting Community Managers for the project!

Please read the information below. You can apply for our CM  team by sending Ash a private message with the Subject Title “CM Application” if you’re interested in joining the team. Please write a CV! It doesn't need to be too over the top. Just information and experience you have.  Include your account name in the application as a full check needs to be carried out.

Note that only valid applications via private message on the forum will be reviewed.

A Community Manager is the face of the project, managing communications in both directions. This digital-savvy employee is responsible for all communications, PR, social media, events, and content creation, among other things.

It’s a Web 2.0 communications role, incorporating online tools and in-person networking to create relationships and ultimately build the project's brand, both online and off.

While every day as a Community Manager is different, this is what the role’s responsibilities may include:

  • Content creation – Writing blog posts, articles, newsletters, communications material, and material for social media channels
  • Social media marketing – Creating, managing and growing the company’s presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online properties.
  • Events and event planning – Attending, and creating events for the users!
  • Public relations – Managing incoming media requests and building relationships with the community.
  • Customer relations – The Community Manager is often responsible for customer support – answering questions however they come in and managing any online feedback.
  • Communications/marketing strategy – The Community Manager is responsible for creating strategic marketing/communications.

Here are the skills to look for when hiring a Community Manager:

  • Outgoing personality – Be professional, but also... be yourself.
  • Writing skills – This speaks for itself!
  • Social media experience – Experience with social media tools isn’t a must, but it’s definitely helpful and cuts down on training.
  • Interest in your industry – A Community Manager needs to be passionate about what they do.
  • PR experience – Having experience with public relations is a nice to have.
  • Culture fit – The person needs to get along with your other employees and needs to mesh with the project's culture.
