I don't like world PvP either, but I'm also a battleground fan. Now. I understand, that it's not for everybody, but with your experience and goals I think this might help. What I did on Elysium is the thing I've been doing for years now. I levelled in dungeons, so naturally there was not much ganking involved. Playing a reckoning pally, which can fill any dungeon role, but mostly tanking, gathering my own groups, which is easy if you're a tank. Took a lot of time, but I wasn't in a hurry and solo leveling is a bit too old after the twelve years of playing. Of course, there's almost always some horde in Blackrock, and sometimes even ganking parties in Searing/Burning/elsewhere. But it's not really that bad. Most times I just stun/bubble, use my engi boots and wave them goodbye.

Have you considered playing on Elysium PvP? It's ~4 times more populated than Darrowshire. Yes, there's EU evening hours unplayable lag, but it should be better at your playing hours if I understand you correctly.

Elysium PvP — Rise of the blood god. Patch 1.7Motorbreath replied to Ash's topic in Official Information If most guilds prefer no world buffs, then can't they just - oh I don't know - NOT GET WORLD BUFFS? Or cancel those? Remember the times when you didn't need admins to do everything for you, people?

[Poll] Update PvP Gear with ZG release.Motorbreath replied to jerome's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions Nice attempt. If I go away you have no opponent. If I keep argueing - I'm doing it for the sake of argueing. But I'll say it again - to convince me you'd have to actually try. For now it's just semi-clever tricks. If it's just updating PvP then why even bother creating the thread, voting, argueing with me? Just agree with me and go play the game instead. See. I can do that trick too.

[Poll] Update PvP Gear with ZG release.Motorbreath replied to jerome's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions Thanks for breaking it to me - I really appreciate that. And why are you still whining if you don't like how it is? Why didn't you just leave? See, we can play this little game together. You're not really that different. The thing is I've been here since 2010 watching the same "give us more it's in the server's best interests" whine repeating over and over and over again. Let me tell you something. It never stops. Ever. Maybe you will impress somebody with your "arguments". Maybe you will even convince the new admins that it should be done and it actually will be. But let's make something clear - you definetly won't impress or convince me. To do that you would have to actually try. Kind of the same thing you would have to do to actually fix PvP. You know. The PvP. In game - not on message boards. I hope someday admins will realize that you whiners will always keep crying for more slowly turning vanilla into "a custom server including custom class mechanics". Why am I here? To play the game I like despite all the things you do to it. To put some discord in your whiny choir. To remind admins of the mistakes done by their predescessors. See you ingame.

Completely new to WoW - observationsMotorbreath replied to BoldAsLove's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions Questie... Maybe it's an old player that knows almost every quest by heart after 12 years ramble, but I'd still advise you to get rid of it. I can understand how jumping from years of grinding mobs to quests can feel uncomfortable, but WoW is not about the grind. For me at least. You have a veteran by your side, you have the whole world to explore. I'd say make it a journey and make it your own instead of following the arrows. After all, a first time happens only one time. Another thing I wanted to say - and it's probable too advanced stuff for a player that just beat his first 13 levels in the game - click heal is not the best option. Good party/raid frames and mouseover is. It will require some macrocommands writing, but if you have some exp with programming it shouldn't be a problem. Just keep that in mind in case you will decide to stick around in improve your healing experience ;)

I don't care about TBC at all, so not a slightest idea. It's given, that all realms progress with the same pace and the other two are only ahead because they are older. So by starting on Elysium you're probably looking at additional time to wait for TBC transfer. But again, with no solid dates you could just sit and wait go even go look for a TBC server available right now. I'd say either do that, or still go for Elysium while you wait and then start anew when TBC will be available here. I think it comes down to how much you really prefer TBC over Vanilla.

I'd say go for Elysium PvP - it's the youngest and, as you have noticed yourself, the most populated of the three realms. Which means easier to find a group / start a battleground even at lower levels. There probably will be some people that will tell you it's overpopulated and that it's best if you go and play on another two realms, but, let's face it, it's only best for them and not for you. The only thing the other two realms have that Elysium PvP doesn't is more PvE content and more available items with buffed stats, but all this will be available at Elysium PvP sooner or later, so, from my PoV, it's only reasonable to have some time to prepare for all the upcoming changes while you still have lesser gap to close between you and the top geared crowd. About factions... I dunno. The alliance is always more PvE-oriented one because of it's racial abilities, while the horde tend to be more agressive and PvP-oriented. Horde ganking paries in Searing and Burning as well as horde gankers in general are a reality. Maybe it's just an alliance player PoV, but still. I guess horde players have to wait longer for battleground games, because the alliance is less active in PvP. Though I did PvP in all brackets except 50-59 while leveling my pally, and most time the problem was a lack of queing horde, so go figure. Premades and twinking teams are usually equal - when there's a force then there's an counter-force. I'm still preparing for 60pvp and can't tell for sure. All I can tell for now the rule is usually something like: "if you want an easy PvP and a PvP-oriented faction where everything's in favour of it, go horde. If you're looking for challenges, want some hardcore in your game and enjoy breaking the mold - go alliance." If you want to steamroll the enemy without breaking a sweat, get your epics and be proud of it, find a premade or just gank lowlevels in STV I dunno. Some people say it's fun - I've tried it; not for me. Hey, I have a Judgement ability, but I'm not here to judge. Just figure out what's fun for you and by all means go for it ;)

It depends on what particular situation are we talking about here. First of all paladins recieve their analog of warrior's execute around level 48 if I'm right, so most of the early levels it's just a dummy ui warning. After this I may have been saving my mana seeing that dps is good and the target will be dead in a couple of seconds anyway. Pala tanks can't do much without mana, so if there's any chance something will be pulled shortly after... well, you get my point. If you spend more mana, you spend more time sitting and drinking afterwards. On some bosses I am healing myself to cause additional threat and ease the life of a healer either because those bosses hit too much (Eranikus, Emperor), or immune to magic damage, so there's no other way (Emperor). And also there's always the global cooldown on most abilities creating a priority list - tanks most of the time have their hands full trying to stay ahead of the party's curve with their threat generation. So while tanking a pack it's better to just pop instant cast consecration causing collateral threat to all the targets and keep hitting the main one in melee with SoR on SoC judgement instead of casting Hammer of Wrath for 0.5+ seconds resetting autoattack timer. At least in my opinion. It will cost ~ the same amount of mana. Short version: as a tank my goals are holding the enemies > surviving > and only then causing damage.
