    New Ignite bug thread

Just for reference here is how ignites are supposed to work. For a 5 stack ignite dot the damage per tick comes from the first 5 crits. Any following crit should not increase the damage at all just refresh the dot. Pretty simple. Just to be clear the dot comes from 40% of the damage of each of the first 5 crits as is clearly stated in the ignite talent description with 5 points into it. So if a fireball crit for 10 damage the ignite would tick for 4 damage. and if 5 fireballs crit for 10 damage each the 5 stack of ignite would tick for 20. No more no less regardless of future crits. Just for 1 more bit of clarification I will quote the ignite talent with 5 points in it. "Your critical strikes from fire damage spells cause the target to burn for an additional 40% of your spell's damage over 4 sec." This means that whatever your fire spell crits for is what the dot is based off of. So if a mage is flasked potted uses a trinket such as ToEP and has AP or PI on then the ignite dot is based off of how much his spell crits for. Not how much it would have crit for if the mage didn't have all that stuff on. Not how much the mage would have crit for if the character were naked. Not anything else except how much the spell actually crit for. So to recap: Stacks up to 5. Additional crits don't effect the damage of the dot. Based on the crit of the spell regardless of anything else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV_hX25_8m0 Just to back up my first paragraph with some sort of proof. In the above video once the ignite stack reaches 5 the dot continually ticks for 3050 (except for 1 time it ticks for 3049). There are crits that happen after the 5 stack is applied but the dot continues to tick for 3050.
  2. Oh yeah. I think someone said something about PI or AP or any other + damage trinket suppose to blah blah blah. Idk what was said cuz I skimmed. In any case. As I said and can be seen in the patchwerk video Ignite calculates off of the first 5 crits then every other crit just keeps the tick up. So lets say for example 5 mages with AP or PI up get 1 crit each (5 crits) the ignite ticks would be calculated from the damage each of those crits did regardless of the buffs the mages had. It goes off how much they crit for not how much they would have crit for if blah blah blah no PI AP trinket etc. Which could end up being a very big ignite.
  3. They have / had access to gear that was way better than mages on this server but that doesn't mean they wore it or knew how to use it. I remember I wore as much t2 as I could until I replaced it with T3 and so did every other mage in my guild and every other mage I knew on my server. And you'll see half the crits in the Patchwerk video are from scorch or something stupid like that because they didn't know or care enough to drop the scorch ignite with a pyroblast. Ignites were a thing back in the day. We used to pull aggro all the time and get 1 shot by bosses. Twas fun. Idk if ignite on this server works or not but I do know that said ignites will be much higher than any evidenced on retail because of our current knowledge and that everyone and their mom uses flasks and full consumes these days. Ignites will be higher these days but not because of a bugged mechanic (and I have no idea if it's bugged or not I'm just saying).
  4. Hey remember that one time a bunch of guys running a vanilla server didn't know that stinkey que was a hugely popular addon made during actual vanilla and that blizzard said they didn't care if the players used it. Then those same guys accused a bunch of their own playerbase and bug testers of creating said addon (stoneky que) to use specifically on their server and banned them. Good times. Hey remember that other time when a bunch of guys running a server, without warning, permabanned a bunch of players for multi clicking songflowers, something that Nihilum (among others) routinely did for their naxx progression until the playerbase of said server finally banded together to tell them how fucking stupid they were and got the players unbanned. Good times. Hey remember that other time a bunch of guys running a vanilla server permabanned a bunch of players for mining the well documented (from actual retail vanilla) spawn time and locations of ooze covered thorium veins (some of said players having only mined 1 or two nodes in the entire length of their gameplay) then never 'fixed' or 'changed' the 'broken' nodes. Good times. It seems as though the trend of "hey lets overreact and ban everyone" is still alive and well. Same ol' shit dog. Just a different server. How ignite worked during retail vanilla was the first 5 crits calculated the amount of damage per tick and the rest of the crits just kept that dot tick up. It did not continue to increase in damage. The Patchwerk video linked earlier in this thread will show that. You'll notice that once 5 stacks are applied the tick maxes out at 3050 until the mage pulls aggro and dies.
  5. My favorite part was when you couldn't tell what was going on because of the frost trap glare.

    The Devilsaur monopoly.

Never said you were and don't care about your life story or your murder ability. In fact I didn't quote you or mention a specific server, and my 'argument' has nothing whatsoever to do with you, elysium, in game threats, or whatever the hell else you were talking about. Everything I covered was brought up and discussed before you even entered this thread. Maybe you should stop and think about why my post made you so defensive. Based on your first paragraph, if you hadn't quoted me, I would have assumed you were talking to someone else. Still not sure if you just accidentally quoted me or not. Fine. You got me. There is an in game solution to BG wintrading as well. Well technically if the BG wintraders farmed more honor than is physically possible for a non wintrader or group of non wintraders to farm then there is no in game solution besides to also wintrade. Because BG's are a closed system. World PvP is not. You can always bring more people to world PvP, adjust your strat. Whatever. That's the difference and that's why one is wintrading and the other is not. I suppose I should have said "ToS Legal in game solution" in my original post. Butt lets just reiterate. You can ToS legally counter anything that has been brought up about devilsaurs the crater and world PvP. You can not ToS legally counter BG wintrading. Because BG's are a closed system. The rest of your number 2 needs the disclaimer of "in battlegrounds or Arena". Without this disclaimer I mean LOL. Just think about it for one second. Besides the fact that it was made specifically for arena and BG's and only enforced in arena and BG's you would have to ban everyone that rode by a fight, walked by a fight, ignored a fight. You could never not engage in a fight for fear of being banned. You could never sheep anyone for fear of being banned. I mean. what if you came to help someone and aggroed a mob? That would be considered helping the opposite faction by attempting to kill your faction with said mob. You could never mind control, fear, die or any number of other things. What if you accidentally walked off a cliff? That could be considered letting the other faction win. BANNED. Everyone on the server would be banned week 1. As i said. LOL. Bots? Come on. That's your example? Botting is cheating because it's a third party program controlling a character. It has nothing to do with anything discussed in this thread. They both just happen to be against the ToS. Again. Never quoted you. Don't care about you. Never mentioned a server. Don't care what server you're on. I have no idea what you're talking about in your bottom edit. Stop projecting.

    The Devilsaur monopoly.

Every single voiced problem here can be solved via in game means. Every. One. Which is the main reason no one has been banned. Wintrading? Cuz horde sheeps alliance or vice versa? Last I checked sheeping a player or mob doesn't instantly make them full health and immune to damage. Bring more people. In game solution. Which is exactly why almost everything in world PvP is not wintrading. Anything anyone can do to help the other faction can be countered by more players, more organization, etc. You can't do that in a BG because a BG is a controlled environment. Communication? Blizzard made forums so everyone regardless of faction can communicate outside of the game. Blizzard made the game so opposite factions could not communicate in the game. None of them are communicating in the game. This is classic "I want it butt I don't want to work for it" syndrome. Someone went to the crater. Couldn't get what they wanted in 10 minutes and decided a whine post would get it easier than making friends in this massive MULTIPLAYER online role-playing game. The online equivalent of throwing a tantrum.

Aww. That's cute. You guys are cute. Hey everybody. Get a load of these guys. Thinking difficulty of content has anything to do with it. Adorable.
  10. It's a common mistake because no one ever enunciates the first 'R' in surprise. Sir pries? No one says that. Butt you're not mad at me. You're mad that your girlfriend got wet listening to my voice on teamspeak. Don't be mad. A simple thank you will suffice. As in: Thank you Jonny. She hasn't been wet in my presence in a long time. You're Welcome. In any case, who are we kidding. You don't have a girlfriend. Butt if you did she'd tell you you don't exactly have to be 'in the know' to know that rottix deleted his char, Darkwing duck ranked 8 months after who cares, and he and vathdar posted a lot on the old forums about how good they are.
  11. Surprised is actually spelled with 2 'R's. As in: I'm surprised they didn't relegate you to the second premade as per usual. Prolly cuz rottix deleted his char.
  12. No Darkwing Duck either. I'm surprised you took the que to be honest. Musta been a new feeling for you.
  13. I don't see Vathdar or Curator in there so obviously not NOPE's 'A' team. Another indication it isn't their 'A' team is they invited Slipry.
