Post your Retribution Screenshot that you are proud of <3

I just now saw that I typed "Potti" and not "Pottu"... One day, I will chop my Fat вау Fingers off and staple them to my iPhony's touched in the head screen. Then, I will bend God over backwards and cram the whole thing up His попа. -

I think Potti is trying to tell you two that he doesn't want to pay for more therapy, as he's just finished paying the doc who helped him cope with the stresses of you two back on Nost.>.< -
I agree with Duki. Fixing pathfinding and quests which are currently broken will do so much more to attract (and keep!) players than a gimmick like an exp bonus. As far as custom changes to make raid targets "harder," tread carefully. Once you make one custom change, it becomes that much easier to make another. If Blizzlike stats on mobs are too "easy," take the opportunity to try new strategies. Let that Prot Pally or Feral Bear MT in a raid! Let that burnt out Shammy go DPS! There ARE ways to breathe new life into old content, you just have to get creative.

Sulfuron Hammer requires a ton of core mats, and he said that he wasn't going to raid. I'd look into an Arcanite Reaper, myself.

I am Azzinoth, the gnomish warrior
TheFishyOne replied to kystonio's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
We, as an Alliance, should love and treasure our Gnomes, for they make us Stuff and Things. Other races make all manner of Junk, but only Gnomes make Stuff and Things. Under no circumstances should we EVER punt our Gnomes 42 yards to win the game, and neither should we run them for a two point convesion in OT. -
Yes, I misspelled "balance." I wrote this on my iPhony, and my fingers are fat, useless garbage. I'd like to use the Gnomish Shrink Ray on the bastards, but will settle for a Goblin Sapper Charge, if need be...

Right now, I am unable to get to the char select screen. Is the login server having problems, or is it something on my end?

I've been getting insta-DC'd every time I've tried to login for the past hour. Server problems, or is Charter farting harder?

Duki, what would you recommend for pre-raid over Deathbone if you are under Def cap? -

I believe I have found an inaccuracy with dodge calculation, where the baseline value for player dodge is set to 0%, when it should be 5%. See my bug report on the tracker for numbers. -
Guys, did you ever think that maybe Vanilla has been done to death? If you find the content boring, the problem is that you have overplayed it. As Rodney Carrington once said, you csn only eat so many green M&Ms before you go "вау it, I want a red one!" Try a new class or spec, or maybe try a different game for a ehile. Once you make a custom change, it becomes that much easier to make the next one.

So Theo, when can we expect you to begin Wreck Bombing the Hordies at Light's Home? -
Bow?(!) Pfft, why would I want a meager bow when I can chuck nades? =)

That's true. I didn't think about Charge, and I thought you could MB and Intercept in Def Stance. That said, if you don't have Tactical Mastery, couldn't you just use Bloodrage before the pull? And although MB and Intercept are nice, as a Prot Pally with vanilla raid tanking experience, I can assure you that neither one is a substitute for trigger happy DPS just bringing the aggro to you. However, as a Tankadin, I would prefer having an Intercept over a Taunt, so take it for what it's worth.
-
Tactical Mastery is only helpful in fights where you get feared. Pallies can frontload their threat as well as generate threat just from getting beat on, but a War without a Dorf Priest/Tremor Totem who can't stance dance might lose aggro while feared if your group is filled with trigger happy Gnomes and huntarded Nelficans (or the Horde equivalent thereof). Wars have much freer reign to spec what they want and still tank than Pallies do when leveling up. No need for a full Prot spec until you're ready to raid. Once you start doing DM, you should be fine with Tactical Mastery, Blood Craze, and a sword and board. If you can't reliably find instance groups, try duoing with a Pally or Shaman. Also, DWing doesn't surpass 2h until you get a bit of hit chance, and an Arms spec can come in handy in the event of unplanned world pvp.

The elephant in the room: Chinese players
TheFishyOne replied to Marathon's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Not sure why you asked that question, as I never implied it somehow could. As for small amounts over multiple accounts, I imagine you could write a script to monitor the subnets of accounts that mail gold and flag ones for GM review that send a certain number of gold laden letters to the same account, if the sending accounts are part of the same subnet. As for person-to-person trades, deny trading priviledges to all accounts with a toon under level 5. Not perfect, but it will increase the RMTer's cost of doing business, which is the most effective way to fight them. -

I often take Precision as Holy, as it's either that or 6% armor on your way to Kings. It can help you kill a bit quicker when soloing, and 6% bonus armor means remarkably little if you are not wearing full plate. That said, definitely take the armor over Precision if you are speccing for PvP and wearing full plate. -

Thanks for the list, Duki! If I may make a suggestion, Elixirs of Greater Agility are a cheap way to add 1.25% Dodge chance. -
The elephant in the room: Chinese players
TheFishyOne replied to Marathon's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
True, but how would a chargeback impede the server staff's ability to track and ban players once the gold is received? This DOES raise a point about those who purchase 60s or powerleving, however. Would hostname or MAC address bans for repeat offenders be an option? -
The elephant in the room: Chinese players
TheFishyOne replied to Marathon's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
It is a widely known that the overwhelming majority of players who are paid real life money to farm gold on any given server in any given MMO are based in China. This is a fact, and accusing people of "racism" for voicing a legitimate concern does not help anyone, nor does it change reality. That said, I recall when Lineage II did what the OP is suggesting, and it DID stop the RMT and goldspam...for about a week. It was only effective for even that long, because that was how long it took the Chinese Farmers to adjust their network infrastructures to include proxies based in the U.S. Fact is, Chinese Farming IS a problem, regardless of whether or not it is politically correct to point it out, but blanket banning China is not the solution, as it is too easy for spammers and farmers to circumvent. The most effective long-run strategy, imo, is to aggressively target their customers. This should even be done at the expense of targetting the farmers themselves (use them to lead you to as many of their customers as you can), as black market goods and services can never be stamped out if the profit margins are too good, and global RMT brings in multiple billions of dollars accross the globe, every year. If, however, you create an environment where purchasing these services is accurately, immediately, and severely punished, the playerbase as a whole will come to associate purchasing these goods and services with an extraordinary risk of losing their raid geared 60s and having to start over from scratch. When that happens, their sales will dry up, their profits will plummet, and they will move on to a more lucrative server. Criminal businessmen are just like legitimate businessmen in that regard, they will follow wherever the money leads them, be that toward or away from something. There may be more effective solutions than the one I suggested, but crying "xenophobe" and "racist" at people trying to cast a spotlight on a real and destructive problem is not a part of them. Identifying a problem is always the first step toward eliminating it, while denying that a problem exists is often all that is required for it to spiral out of control. -
'ey guys. Like the title says. I was a sucessful Raidtankadin in the PuG scene on Nost PvP, and would like to know if a guild here might give me a home. I'm sure you all know the ins and outs of vanilla Raidtankadins by now, so I'll not list them here (if a recruitment officer has specific questions, I can answer them here). Please no "lolprot" or "just roll a War" posts. Pallytanking is what I know and love, and I have no interest in listening to naysayers tell me that I'm not able to do things that I can, and have already done.

Any NA guilds interested in trying a Prot Pally?
TheFishyOne replied to TheFishyOne's topic in Guild Recruitment
Squishums, I think you are overstating reality a bit. Yes, our Consc wont do Naxx damage in pre-raid gear, but a good Tabkadin will rely more on HS and BoSanc here. Plus, it will scale with spelldmg, which it did not do on Nost, so with proper gear, chants, and consumable use, a Tankadin's Consc will simply be plenty for gear appropriate instances, and not stupid OP for all of them. Like Cheddar said, our ST threat was fixed. In the end, we will just have to make use of MAs in raids, no different than Prot Wars. Cheddar, who were you on Nost? -

Not true at all, Angren. I actually drink less often than the healers do, and on boss fights that require it, Major Manas, Dark Runes, and JoW are more than enough to totally negate Mana as an issue. -
