Horde is superior in PvP due to racials and starting position in AV. Alliance is superior in PvE due to paladinbuffs and easier/closer access to raids from Capital cities. Some would argue that Shamans makes horde better once you get into AQ/Naxx, they are probably right too.

The impale build does leave alot of room for personal preference, playstyle and different gearing choices. Personaly I too ditched imp SW and taunt in favor of 5/5 anticipation so that I could use Lifegiving gem instead of Onyxia-trinket (I love my oh-фекал-buttons).

I would just like to point out that Life Steal does indeed scale with SP/debuffs etc, I had it crit for like 200dmg on Chromaggus once. This was on Nostalrius and a VERY rare occurance.

The reason Nostalrius got so popular was because they had NONE of this trash. This is a bad suggestion and you should feel bad. Gimmicky фекал like rewards for doing фекал outside the game is part of what made retail cancer.

Alot of procs will probably have to be re-tested, I dont know of Elysium will keep Nostalrius values?

Please note that Ironfoe will be of lesser value on Elysium due to the nerf it has gotten (assuming it is kept in place with Nostalrius-merge). It will still be pre-raid bis though.
