This is the biggest mistake yet! Listening to a handful of loudmouths regarding respect costs obviously is contrary to the community in the whole. Just look at the comments received about this topic from players who normally remain silent. This is the very thing that has destroyed many servers in the past. Lowered respect costs usually appear to encourage PvP at first but soon the new PvPers will stop entering BGs because they get stomped on by the premades. It is only a temporary effect. Since this announcement, many players have already left the project and word is quickly spreading that these are now "fun" servers.

Please cap respec cost at 5 gold.
Zargoth replied to Numeta's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Please! Just close this thread. It should never have been opened in the first place. -
Using the same examples, Killerduki, you could be accused of breaking the ToU yourself.

If some of you spent as much time farming mats for the War Effort as you do whining in the forums, the War Effort would already be over.

That's my point. We would be rid of you drama queens forever! Go find something productive to do. -
A Frank Address And Statement on Recent Events and Revelations
Zargoth replied to Shenna's topic in Official Information
I have a solution to this drama queen crap. Ban everybody who has contributed to the drama and unban only those who can provide absolute proof (documents, screen shots, etc.) that they were not trying to harm the community and/or Elysium-Project. I suspect every one of them to have ulterior motives. They are even more shady individuals than the ones they are trying to defame. I will continue to believe this until they can prove me wrong. -
Admins: please remove this thread. This is a discussion forum related to Elysium.

A Frank Address And Statement on Recent Events and Revelations
Zargoth replied to Shenna's topic in Official Information
I would like to thank Pottu for clearing up some facts. I would also like to remind people that the OP was in response to a witch hunt already in progress and were merely trying to present their side of the story. It appears that this subject actually has little to do with the Elysium-project except for one particular individual who decided (without being informed) to punish the project unjustly. The staff have proven themselves to be very lenient with this individual, more so than I would have been. Literally thousands of players are crying for him to be banned from the project completely. Continuing this thread will simply reveal you to also be a drama queen and could be construed as a riot against the project. -
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their efforts. During this trying time you should remember that for every drama queen and/or detractor, there are literally thousands of players that are very happy with what you guys are doing here and the way you conduct yourselves. Too bad most of them remain silent. Good hunting!

Re: What’s All The Hype With Vanilla WoW? Is It Really Better?

If there is a suggestion here, I fail to see it. -
GM just banned my friend? WTF mode.

Yep, classic drama queen who just has to have the last word. He could prove me wrong - if he stopped posting. -

Nothing of the kind. The proof is in your posts above. -
GM just banned my friend? WTF mode.
Zargoth replied to Antipatra's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
It appears that the OP seems to think that he should be given some kind of special treatment. The fact is that his appeal (on behalf of a supposed friend) should have been dismissed out of hand. The GM process here is usually to give out warnings and bans for repeat offences. This is probably what has happened here. The GM in question received a report, investigated, and banned the offending player. If the banned player felt it was unjust, then it is up to him to appeal and the case would be reviewed. The OP has absolutely no business in this at all. It appears to me that the only business the OP does have here is to throw the server and staff into a poor light. To this end he has made false accusations, forwarded innuendo and proved nothing. He has also threatened the server if he doesn't get his way. This should be enough to get him banned from the forums and possibly the game. Bottom line is that the OP is simply another drama queen shouting out for attention. Quite sad actually. -
I was doing more research into this whole Nost announcement, look what else I found
Zargoth replied to Mordalsin's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
The shutdown of The Rebirth has absolutely nothing to do with Blizzard. For several months now, Muggle has been making noises about getting a little tired and frustrated with the whole situation. Muggle and the other support staff have put in long hours to keep at least one vanilla server running when others failed. As the announcement stated, personal lives were affected and they have simply decided that it is time to move on. My best wishes go out to all those involved. You will be missed in the Vanilla community. -

Exclude Guild/Raid Chats from Anti Spam
Zargoth replied to Alyndra's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I agree. Far too many people are being muted in BG's, raids, and other semi-private channels. The Anti-spam mechanism should only be applied to the common public channels that are most likely to be spammed (World, General, Trade, etc.). Of major concern to me is the number of addons that are being rendered useless because of the current situation. Many of these addons create user channels to communicate with others using similar addons. Having a user-created channel muted is NOT the vanilla experience I remember. -
Disable VPN connections to server...
Zargoth replied to Worldstar's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
The discussion has already taken in place in other threads. It has been established that gold sellers are not good for a server. Search the forums and you will be able to convince yourself. As for your suggestion that they ban the gold buyers, this is already being done and many unwary new users have been lured into getting themselves banned. This too is not good for the servers. -
Disable VPN connections to server...
Zargoth replied to Worldstar's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Obviously you are unaware of the overall impact of these gold sellers. It is a lot more than chat spam. Bottom line: Disabling VPN connections has proven effective. -
Disable VPN connections to server...
Zargoth replied to Worldstar's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
You're right, it would be unfair if they couldn't connect any other way. Your logic, however, is to punish the other 95%. -
Disable VPN connections to server...
Zargoth replied to Worldstar's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
"For a lot of people ... " Shouldn't this be "For some people ..." ? Let's face it, only a small percentage of the connections to these servers is via VPN and of these I'm willing to bet over half of them are gold sellers and other nefarious characters. What it comes down to: do you want a small percentage of the population annoyed or do you want to continue to have everybody annoyed. -
In other words: maintenance has been ongoing for 2 hours 50 minutes now. Soon !!!

What we really need is an effective reporting mechanism. On several occasions now I have noticed a group of 5 mages with names like Yssqc, Ysqcs, etc. multibox farming around the Defias camps near Stormwind. I have attempted to report these characters via tickets but the system is so overloaded that they don't get seen in time to prevent the resulting spam. Last night I observed a group of 10 level 1 warriors grouped outside the guild creation shop in Stormwind. A quick response to a ticket may have prevented the resultant problems today with guild invites to a gold seller's guild. I don't know what form of reporting mechanism to suggest but something more effective is definitely needed. Even if these characters proved to not be gold sellers, they are at least guilty of multiboxing in an obvious manner and could be banned out of hand just for that.

This is just ridiculous. Several thousand people accomplished the same thing months ago. These are not new servers! There will be no server firsts until the new server is launched on Jan 7th.
