  1. Hello, Since my joining Elysium in September, I have been unemployed. I decided to allow myself to take this time to “relax” and enjoy working on a project of my choosing. But since my savings are running low and starvation is at the bottom of my list of enjoyable activities, it is about time I get back to work. As a consequence, I will no longer be able to dedicate the time I currently do (around 70h+ per week) and maintain a healthy social life at the same time. As I don’t want to sacrifice my social life over Elysium, I took the hard choice to leave the project. As I am not the type of person to give something half effort, I feel it is best to leave instead of hold back the rest of the team with my lack of availability. I will still be around for a few more days to make a smooth transition of my activities. Looking back, it’s been a long ride since the old Elysium and the bolstering of our team’s ranks. There were, and will continue to be hiccups as time goes by because we are still learning and creating new processes to address external and internal issues. The challenge to keep things rolling has been an incredible experience, and I have learned many valuable skills and life lessons. It is a part of my life that I will not forget and wish the best to the team in the future. As a goodbye note, I would like to reinforce the last point we made during our response to Nostalrius. Before I started to get involved in the scene from an internal standpoint, I was a player. Playing on these servers provided the best social experiences within a game I have ever had. Through my adventures, I made a lot of friends I still play with years later and tonight I will spend my evening with two of them that were previously my rivals, yet here we are 4 years later. We are an incredible community with so much positivity, and yet it is so easily tainted. Social media can be used to promote projects, meet and make new friends, and discuss all aspects of the game. But it only takes a few negative individuals to tear it all down and destroy how our community is perceived. Elysium will step up their game in this regard and in departure, I ask you to stay strong and to not let the negative minority unduly influence you.   2. Mechanics Rage Mechanics Armor now properly reduces the rage generated from taking damage. Parrying or dodging an attack no longer generates rage. Players now generate rage whenever their auto attacks are parried or dodged. Procs and damage shields no longer trigger on parried or dodged attacks. Fixed a bug that was preventing several weapon effects from proccing off instant attacks. Players and NPCs can no longer obtain Holy resistance by any means. (level-based resists and general spell hit rules still apply to Holy spells) Elemental school melee attacks now ignore the damage reduction from armor and can no longer crush or be blocked. Ground targeted spells like Blizzard and Flamestrike now require line of sight to cast. Elemental and Mechanical type creatures are now immune to Bleed, Poison, and Disease effects. Several varieties of undead are now immune to Bleed effects. Bosses are now generally immune to cast speed debuffs like Curse of Tongues. Fixed a bug that was causing the chance for Fear to break on damage to be lower than intended. Pets should stop attacking whenever their target is crowd controlled by a spell that breaks on damage. Pets now benefit from strength buffs properly. Classes & Abilities PriestsFixed the interaction between Fear Ward and effects like Berserker Rage. MagesFixed a bug that was causing Mages to temporarily lose their Impact talent after casting Ice Block.. Hunters Hunter pet abilities now benefit from the pet's happiness. Arcane Shot now uses physical crit and hit rules. Fixed the critical damage bonus received from Hunters’ Humanoid and Monster Slaying talents. Rogues Energy spent to cast melee abilities that are parried will now be refunded for 80% of the cost. Blade Flurry now does the correct amount of damage when striking additional targets. Paladins Consecration no longer scales with attack power. Fixed Seal of the Crusader’s damage reduction effect. Seal of Command’s proc now benefits from Sanctity Aura and has a small delay when triggered. Fixed the scaling of Seal of Righteousness. Seal of Righteousness can now trigger mainhand weapon procs. WarriorShield Bash and Shield Slam can now trigger mainhand weapon procs. Shaman Fixed Earth Shock and Rockbiter Weapon’s threat components. Chain Lightning and Chain Heal’s spell power and healing coefficients are now reduced properly when bouncing to additional targets. Windfury Weapon now benefits from the talent Elemental Weapons. Windfury Totem now benefits from the talent Improved Weapon Totems. Items Fixed an exploit with Prismcharm. Blade of the Wretched and Soul Breaker no longer have a 100% proc rate. Anti-Venom (First Aid) now checks the poison's spell level before dispelling it. Goblin Rocket Helm now knocks the wearer down on use. Bonereaver’s Edge has been reverted to its pre-1.12 state (the armor penetration buff no longer stacks with itself). Juju Might no longer stacks with Winterfall Firewater. Gnomish Battle Chicken now should work as intended. Equippable items with charges now should correctly display its sell price. Raids & Dungeons Onyxia Onyxia has received an update and will behave more like her pre-nerf form in Phases 2 and 3. Players can no longer reach Onyxia with melee auto-attacks in Phase 2. Onyxia has had her weapons and trinket moved to their own bonus loot table and is no longer incorrectly guaranteed to drop two non-set/non-quest epic items. Molten Core Adjusted the cooldowns of several boss and trash abilities in Molten Core. Fixed the cooldowns of Ragnaros’ Might of Ragnaros, Wrath of Ragnaros, and Lava Burst abilities. Added missing Thrash ability to Garr’s Firesworn minions. Fixed Baron Geddon’s Patrol Several bosses have had their loot tables fixed Blackwing Lair Blackwing Taskmasters are now immune to charm. Fixed an exploit in the Chromaggus encounter. Adjusted Chromaggus’ movespeed and aggro radius. Fixed Firemaw’s Patrol Zul’Gurub Fixed Zealot Lor’Khan’s Greater Heal ability. High Priestess Arlokk’s summoned panthers have learned to prowl. Fixed the debuff priority of Hakkar’s Blood Siphon. Hakkar’s loot table has been revised to prevent potential duplicates World Bosses Fixed a bug that could cause Lethon to skip his 25% health phases. Fixed Azuregos’s Patrol Dragons of Nightmare now should correctly spawn and randomize between locations. Dire Maul Improved scripts for many bosses and mobs in Dire Maul. The Gordok Inner Door Key now disappears when entering a new instance of Dire Maul. The named guards in Dire Maul no longer drop loot after adding items to the Tribute. Players of sufficient Tailoring or Leatherworking skill can now learn how to craft Gordok Ogre Suits from Knot Thimblejack in Dire Maul. Scholomance Fixed the behavior of Unstable and Reanimated Corpses in Scholomance. Fixed Darkmaster Gandling’s Arcane Missiles ability. Blackrock DepthsThe Grim Guzzler events in BRD have been updated. Quests The Rhok’delar epic quest chain has received a major rewrite. The Lord of Blackrock quests and their corresponding events for turning in the head of Nefarian have been fixed for both factions. ‘Scarlet Subterfuge’, ‘In Dreams’ have been updated to work properly. ‘Freedom For All Creatures’ now works properly. ‘Wanted: Murkdeep’ now correctly scripted. Player vs. Player Players can now queue for Battlegrounds at their respective instance portals. Added a missing Devilsaur spawnpoint in Un'Goro Crater. General Fixed a bug that was causing the 'You have slain <target>!' message to appear twice in the combat log. Fixed several bugs that were preventing spell visuals from being sent to the client. Weather will now synchronise correctly for all players in a zone. Let it snow… or rain, most likely. Corrected a minor visual bug with some Molten Core runes after dowsing. Belnistrasz of Razorfen Downs has rehearsed his script. Razormane Stalkers now correctly use Sinister Strike ability during the fight & Stealth until engaged in combat. Luna Spiritclaw should now correctly trigger quest completion for Alliance players. Alterac Valley Ram Riders should now despawn when their own Stormpike Ram Rider Commander dies, not when the Frostwolf Wolf Rider Commander dies. Removing TBC GOSSIP's from the Undercity Guards. No paladins allowed. Artisan FA trainers are displaying GOSSIP's for learning the abilities for Heavy Mageweave, Runecloth and Heavy Runecloth Bandages now. Tyrande Whisperwind is no longer mistakenly considered a faction leader and her respawn timer has been fixed. Several important rare spawns now benefit from dynamic respawn rates. Broken Tooth and some other rare spawns now have randomized spawn points. Many mobs should no longer spam their disarm or net abilities. Escort NPCs now have a smaller ‘help radius’.

You will find him wandering the the forest on Saturday at 9:00 PM Server time (GMT+3)! To add to the mayhem, the Lord of the Doomguards himself, Lord Kazzak will be tearing his way into our world! You will find him in the Blasted Lands on Sunday at 9:00 PM Server time; only one day after Azuregos. Who will lead the charge to prevent him from tearing open the portal? It is not just these great beings you must contend against, however. The opposing factions will be seeking this opportunity to slay you and steal the glory.   5. Dear community, After a troublesome weekend, the realm is stable with a current uptime of 20 hours. The complications experienced delayed the PTR launch to this day. The PTR is now ready to welcome players to test Dire Maul and Azuregos. Reminder of the PTR schedule: Dire Maul: available until the 2016/10/09 Azuregos: available until the 2016/09/29 Kazzak: available from the 2016/09/30 to the 2016/10/02 You will spawn at level 60 before the entrance of Dire Maul where you will find gear vendors and trainer. The Crescent Key is available at the reagents vendor. World bosses If you are in guild and with enough players, we ask for you to focus as a raid on the world bosses for the week due to their short availability. Additionally, we would like to record the Azuregos and Kazzak encounters and ask you to contact a staff member when you are planning to test on the PTR. Fair testing As we want to get quality feedback from the PTR, players are not allowed to engage combat against other players currently testing a world boss nor suicide on Kazzak. The point of this test is to make sure everything's running smoothly, and not an opportunity to harass rival guilds. Kazzak and Azuregos will be set to a respawn timer of 5 minutes so that it can be attempted multiple times.

  8. Dear community, First content release Tomorrow will see the first content release of Elysium with the opening of Maraudon. The dungeon was available on the PTR the 2016/09/23 evening and received no report on our new bug tracker since that time. The release will happen tomorrow, Saturday September 24th, at 6 PM GMT. Coming next Sunday September 25th will be a busy day for the team as the hardware changes will take place in the morning. Once the server will be back up, you will find Dire Maul and Azuregos available for testing. As the PTR schedule is very strict, here is a reminder of the timeline: PTR Dire Maul: available from 2016/09/25 to 2016/10/09 PTR Azuregos: available from 2016/09/25 to 2016/09/28 PTR Kazzak:available from 2016/09/28 to 2016/10/01 Release Azuregos: 2016/10/08 Release Kazzak: 2016/10/09 Release Dire Maul: 2016/10/15 As we want to get quality feedback from the PTR, players are not allowed to engage combat against other players currently testing a world boss. The point of this test is to make sure everything's running smoothly, and not an opportunity to harass rival guilds. Kazzak and Azuregos will be set to a respawn timer of 5 minutes so that it can be attempted multiple times. With only 4 days each for Azuregos and Kazzak, we want to prevent the guilds to progress on the encounters. If we have acquired enough feedback and that the encounter is in really good shape, it is possible that we will end the test early. The PTR will (once again) allow you to create characters that are instantly leveled to 60. Horde and Alliance will spawn in separate locations in Azshara where there will be vendors, trainers, and a teleporter for Dire Maul.
  9. Dear community, During the past week, you may have experienced some lag issues which were due to our hardware’s workload being too heavy, for it to handle. In order to resolve this issue, we decided to host Elysium on more powerful and faster hardware. With this increase in hardware performance, also comes an increase on hardware cost per month. Back on Valkyrie, we had a shop to help ends meet. Starting with Elysium, it was important for us to not engage on this path as we are a project of passion, not a business. We do not wish to make any profit off of Elysium, we simply wish to provide a smooth experience for players to recreate their memories of this incredible game. With the upgrade, the monthly upkeep of Elysium is now at $230 (USD). We covered the fee for the next month, but in the long run we will not be able to sustain the increased price. Therefore we ask you, the community, to help keep Elysium running in the future if you are willing to continue this adventure with us. If you want to help the server, you can find the button to donate in your account control panel on our website. Rest assured that the funds are only going towards hardware expenses, and nothing else. On the topic of switching hardware, this update will take place this Sunday morning (2016/09/25) and will last 3 hours. During this time, the server will be unavailable to play as we reinstall the core and migrate the databases. We would also like to thank d`- from the public discord who donated $50 (USD) to let us afford the SSL certificate for the bugtracker.   10. Hello Killerduki, That's a feature I dont feel confortable implementing as it can easily become out of control. To host your images, I suggest you use Imgur, you will be able to make galleries and no deletion. For video, Youtube or Streamable seems like good options. Note that the bugtracker supports Markdown and that you can properly format your bugs with titles, quotes, images, etc. Thank you for your suggestion! Mesh
  11. Hello Summer, You need to create a new account on the bugtracker with dedicated credentials. I do not really understand your comment on the navigation as the Valkyrie menu, Bug Tracker Index, Login and Register are on the same line at the top of the website. The categories are now working as labels which provide a better flexibility to filter the issues you are interested in. For example, if you want to check all the issues related to quests, you would set the label as Quest (link). But now, if you want to check the issues related to mage quests, you just need to add the label Mage to the existing label Quest (link). You can then add a text or a status to filter more the remaining issues to find the one you want very fast which is way more efficient than the previous bug tracker.

It was linked to the setup of the new bug tracker as we needed to upgrade some packages and that didn’t go as planned. Bug Tracker Finally, the bug tracker is now up and running, awaiting your reports right there! Unfortunately, the old issues will require a resubmission and the old bug tracker will be only accessible by developers. From now on, here is the new issue lifecycle with statuses: New: automatic status for a new submitted issue. The next steps is for the QA team. Need sources: if the author of the bug report did not provide valid sources that can confirm the authenticity of the issue. Invalid: the bug report is not valid and a comment from a QA team member will explain why. Duplicate: the issue has already been reported. You will find a comment linking to the main issue to contribute. Confirmed: the issue has been validated by the QA team and is now in the hands of the developers. From this stage on, the community can upvote based on the severity of the issue. WIP: A developer was assigned to this issue, and it is being worked on. Test fix: a fix has been applied on the Developer Test Realm and QA team needs to test it. From that, the bug will either go back to WIP or advance to… Resolved: the fix is working and ready to be launched on live realm. The search engine works with keywords, labels, milestones and statuses. It does not take into account the score of an issue. We hope this new streamlined process will make fixing the important issues a more efficient task, that reflects what the community thinks is important to get fixed. Maraudon PTR The PTR is now ready for testing Maraudon with a special setting. Characters created are instantly level 48 and spawn near the entrance of the instance. You will find special NPCs for: Gear Reagents Class Trainers Quests (all quests are turnable the NPC who gives you the quests) Some special commands are available: .maxskill: command to max your weapon skills. .revive: to revive yourself or your companions. You can use commands in guild channel if you are dead e.g. /g .revive. This command is available to make testing more efficient, if abuses are affecting the feedback quality, it will be removed without warning. We are interested in feedback regarding: Artificial Intelligence of monsters, Quests, Monster’s speeches, Spells and mechanics. Change of horizon Starting tonight, Unstop will be stepping down from the Community Manager position to move to the Quality Assurance team as a Senior QA. We hope this change of role will fit him best in the team! The role of Community manager will remain vacant for the foreseeable future.

    Elysium now has one month!

    Hello, Thank you for your attention and attachment to this project. It means a lot to us, the team, to receive such careful message! The bugtracker should be launched today *hopefully* and we believe it will solve a lot of problems regarding communication, giving more insight on the issue lifecycle and how far issues are from being fixed. It will also provide the community a way to express their vision on what developers should focus on with an upvote. Regarding removing messages or issues, that is not a path we are willing to engage in as it will remove hard work collecting information that could be used in the future. To answer your concerns about our stance on the .bg command, this is not a feature that we want to implement as we want to focus on increasing the population. You raise good points regarding our use of social media and how we could do more. We could not agree more with that and are willing to expand our activity. As we are still on planning things, I'll share with you what we are thinking and preparing regarding social media. #1 Facebook We believe that Facebook should be used to create a sense of community around Elysium and WoW Vanilla. Here are the kind of publications we are thinking about: Throwback Thursday(TBT): nostalgic posts about Vanilla events and Elysium. For example, an album of the release of AQ on retail, first days of Elysium, world firsts videos from retail or Elysium... HYPE: publications about the next content to be released with Lore, videos, tactics, quotes, wallpapers... Community promotion: if players or guilds want to create a fun event, we will relay it on all social medias and post an album after it, we could also promote Give visibility to content creators: we would like the videos and streams that occur on Elysium. However we are concerned if the community would see that as favoritism which is a red flag for the project. Humor: #justvanillathings, top 10's... We will need community feedback on this. #2 Twitter We think that it should be used for quick information and therefore should be tied in with the bugtracker to publish a tweet each time an issue is resolved. We would also like to retweet community content to give them visibility and communicate about some statistics about the playerbase to see how it evolves! As you can see, a lot of cool things can be done with social media and we would like to have as much feedback as possible from the community if they do not feel weird about it and would actually like it.   14. Greetings, As stated in the Community Update #4, the current big battles are on the pathfinding and desynchronization. Spells are a big part and takes some time too and will be focused after. We can only put so much in a plate at a time.
