Still possible to transfer from Nost?
Pottu replied to wow02's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
At this time, it is impossible to transfer Nostalrius characters over. -
Guaranteed that there will not be any transfers between realms.

Eventually our Sun will grow into a red giant and engulf Earth, incinerating all life on the planet, leaving Earth as a husk of molten rock. So the answer is yes, Zeth'Kur will die in time. Before that happens, enjoy Azeroth as much as you can.

Bug Tracker is now up so please post this issue there.
-
Cross-realm battlegrounds require clustering as well as all participating realms to be on the same time line gear wise. Not possible at this time.

Do not comply with Nostalrius' request.
Pottu replied to Joggelito's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Since you now have our announcement, I am locking this thread as obsolete. -
Thanks for bringing this up. We are aware of it.

Our official response to Nostalrius — Elysium will prevail!
Pottu replied to Shenna's topic in Official Information
Few clarifications: No, we cannot do that. It is literally impossible without the token data. Because the names were reserved. There is nothing attached to those names without a token. -
What sort of process for detecting bots do they have?
Pottu replied to kied's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Post a ban appeal in the appropriate sub-forum and we'll review your case. -
Welcome to vanilla.

Just admit that the core was never nostalrius.
Pottu replied to Swineflu's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Not without MobInfo. I appreciate that people are passionate but this is really getting ridiculous. I've answered this question before. Yes, it is/was the Nostalrius core. You want proof? Realize that nobody else has ever ran a stable vanilla server with over 5k population. The little things you notice are fixes and changes the devs did on the scripts and the database. I also understand that when you see one thing that clashes with your memory of "how it should be", it's very easy get riled up like a little child and throw all your toys through the windows, but please kindly refrain from such behaviour. Calling the server absolute garbage or total фекал because you've encountered an issue or two, or see someone exaggerating and posting hyperbolic bullshit, is really going over the top. Get a grip. -
Is something wrong with the servers health bars?
Pottu replied to Sillyturtle's topic in UI, AddOns & Macros
Many other private servers do not care about this and have toggled health to be always visible to all players. -
Eh, I have heard otherwise but that's neither here nor there. As to launching Elysium PvP, you might not have seen the demand but I assure you, the demand for it was pretty severe. As I said, providing a home to as many players wishing to play here as possible is our number one priority. When it comes to AQ and War Effort, the QA team has been working hard there as they were not burdened overly much by the new launch. But I guess we'll see when it launches on Nostalrius PvP.

Summoning an infernal in Kharanos is allowed.

Shadowflame is not cast by the hatchets. It's a bug related to Nef and returning to BWL that has been previously opened. It's on the bug tracker and obviously a high priority thing to fix. If you think our QA team is wrong about Baron Geddon's aoe, then please post your evidence on the Bug Tracker so that they can double check it. Not having a public database was a conscious choice on Nostalrius and remains so on Elysium. I'm sorry if our priorities do not exactly match yours but it is far more important to us to have stable servers and provide a home to all players. Our AM is working the way they are supposed to - that's exactly how AM worked back in retail. LOS is a contentious issue because many private servers are content with having TBC or WotLK LOS, whereas Nostalrius went for actual vanilla LOS. You can go back to Nostalrius forums and read the long argumentation regarding LOS in WSG. Point is - many objects that you think would break LOS do not do so in vanilla and that's just how it was. Blizzard fixed/changed several LOS objects and maps as expansions came along. The Bug Tracker is quite simple to use. If you can navigate your way around the forum, the BT isn't more difficult or cumbersome. Stealth was fixed once already. That video is outdated. If you think it's still wrong, again, please post in the Bug Tracker and preferably with a video that shows the ranges.

There are 3 separate things in play that affect performance. It is important to be able to separate them from each other. 1. Framerate or FPS (Frames per second). This measures how well your computer is running the game. No computer built in the last 10 years should have any problems running WoW so this usually isn't a problem. We cannot do anything about poor FPS, that is up to you. 2. Latency or ping, usually show in milliseconds. This is the delay between your computer sending information to the server and the server sending information back to it. We cannot do anything about poor ping, that is up to you. Using a VPN service might help a little. Sometimes switching your ISP could help too. But eventually you will reach the limit imposed by geography and physics, leaving you with only the option of moving to France. 3. Server delay. This is something that you cannot see anywhere and is caused by heavy load on the server itself. There is nothing you can do about it. It usually seems like a combination of 1 and 2 above but if your ping is low and FPS high, while /who shows 10k+ people online, then you can be fairly certain that it is this. This is why we have caps on the server as well as dynamic view distance, as the more players there are on the server and the more players there are in a zone, the worse it gets. You can mitigate it by playing on a less crowded realm or during a less crowded time or questing in less crowded zones.

Put him on /ignore and move on. In case of continued harassment, make an in-game ticket. For discussing community members in general, use the General Discussion forum of your realm.

So the new realm did nothing to lessen the Elysium queue times
Pottu replied to Zachb34's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Old Nostalrius had an active player base of about 110,000. After the shutdown and leading up to the relaunch, the project got immense publicity and thus Elysium has gained a level of visibility unseen in the private server community ever before. Even BBC wrote a piece about us, not to mention dozens of gaming sites, plus Reddit/4Chan, gaming forums and word of mouth. So the active player base has more than doubled and many of these players either do not even know other servers exist or do not care about them. When Nostalrius shut down, many of its players just... stopped. Certainly thousands went to other servers, vanilla or TBC or WotLK and certainly some to retail, but thousands more just didn't play WoW at all. Which is why you cannot draw conclusions from the numbers other projects had and compare them to us. The number of vanilla WoW players is not a static amount. That is not possible due to increased numbers of players wanting to play on Elysium. As well optimised as the Nostalrius core is, there is only so much you can do without clustering. Please remember that before Nostalrius, the most populated vanilla realm usually hovered around 1k concurrent players and was notoriously unstable. Just the fact that we can have 10k concurrent players online with a stable server is an incredible feat. The situation will stabilise on its own over the new few weeks. Incoming players can select freely which realm they play on and yes, some new players will select Nostalrius PvP as their new home. Some Elysium players will switch over to Zeth'Kur. Please have little patience, Rome wasn't built in a day. And that's a saying, not me arrogantly comparing Elysium to the Eternal City. -
NEED free transfers to newly announced server
Pottu replied to musashi's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
There will not be any transfers. Zeth'Kur now has 5.6k population while Elysium has 10k population. It is slowly equalising between them. -
Please use the in-game ticket system or in case of complicated issues, you can send me a PM via forums. But for suspected bots, it is sufficient to put the name in the ticket.

We cannot modify the client. All of your suggestions would require modifying the client. Furthermore, we are not about creating a custom server but trying to emulate vanilla WoW as closely as possible.
