I fail to see where Nano wrote that launch will be delayed until all those things will be fixed. He made a list of high-priority things for the team to focus on, and shared it with the community so that the players know we are aware of them and working on them. Please do not jump to conclusions. Yes, Nano used the word "prior", but in the context of stuff we're working on before the launch, not in any other context.

Armilus, if you'd like to re-create this thread anew, I'll remove this one. That way you can easily edit it along the way.

You can still login as long as you remember your account name and password. Changing the password is impossible without a valid email address associated with the account.

You can Google around for a 1.12.1 client. Please make sure that it's 1.12.1 and NOT 1.12.2 - that version will not work on our server. It's really rare as well, as it only contained some localisation fixes for non English clients if I remember correctly. But we do get a player every now and then trying to connect with that one. Note that if you set up your keybinds and addons on another server, the settings will be stored under the WTF/Account folder for that server only. You need to log-in to our server, so the client creates a folder for us, and the copy over the files. Please remember to delete your WDB folder when you switch servers.

K2 had a very poor launch. Kronos had a questionable reputation anyway, due to their cash shop and account selling. Their own population was not enough to sustain two realms and they did not gain the majority of Nostalrius refugees. Yes, many Nostalrius players went there but not all, nowhere near. Nostalrius had 130 000 accounts active in the last 10 days. Thanks to all the attention the Legacy movement gained after Nostalrius shutdown, that number is going to be higher rather than lower when we launch. Yes, some old players will not return but that loss is easily offset by the influx of new players. Some observers make the mistake of thinking that because the old PvP realm had peaks around 14 000 concurrent players and the PvE realm had peaks around 4 500 concurrent players, that the total amount of Nostalrius players was around 18 000. That is not true at all. Nobody plays 24/7. To have a PvP realm never go below 6 000 players at any time of the day, means that there is a vastly larger group of players who log-in to play. How many players did Nostalrius really have? There is no absolutely correct answer, because some players had more than one active account. But it was vastly more than that combined peak of 18 - 19 thousand concurrent players. Nostalrius gained more players all the time, despite the notorious turnover rate of vanilla WoW and MMOs in general. These players did not care that they could not start on a fresh realm. Perhaps they did not really have a choice - but they will not have a choice a month after release either, because the fresh start realm of ours will not be 100% fresh at that point either. What I'm trying to say here is that I understand your concern but that it is overblown. There were dozens of guilds ready for the War Effort and AQ40, most of whom will return to continue their progression. Properly working AQ40 is a rarity on private servers. Note, I'm not claiming that our AQ40 will be perfect, just that we're aiming to have as Blizzlike and proper AQ40 as possible. Certainly majority of the new players will go to the fresh start realm. But we had the population base to support 2 PvP and 1 PvE realm before the shutdown and now there are more interested players than what we had back in April.

I would prefer if the original authors of the various guides would bring them over or another player picks them up - that way there's better reliability of updating/maintaining them. I'll remove my versions as soon as that happens.

Playing with the rates, whether experience or gold or reputation, is not something that we would ever do.

We cannot change the mechanics from 1.12.1 as that would require modifying the client. So every player would need to download a patch made by us for each patch to be able to play, a process which has a high chance of introducing additional bugs to the game. It unfortunately would be a massive amount of work for very little reward.

Please remember that the Nostalrius PvP realm had a rather large population. Only a small fraction of that is decked out in full T2 and only a handful are R14. Vast majority of the server population was either under 60 or 60s still working towards patch 1.8 BiS gear. The Elysium players will not stand out as if they were useless scrubs. Furthermore, we cannot maintain two different cores going forward. For the sake of our developers sanity, we must stick with one core. Your Elysium account will get "_e" added to the end of it. So, for example let's say your account was Blahblah on Nostalrius and Elysium, so after the transfer you will have two accounts: Blahblah with your Nostalrius characters and Blahblah_e with your Elysium characters.

Unfortunately that is not going to be possible. The Valkyrie database is massive and has significant differences to both Nostalrius database and Elysium database. It would make our already daunting task even more difficult.
