  1. Perhaps you were an exception? Generally, it takes longer for people to "catch up". Besides, if you want to get technical about it, he will be on par with everyone else the second he logs in. My argument stands.
  2. To be fair, it was not the casual, but very vocal minority, that drove WoW to where it is now, but the fact that they started basing their decisions on what would draw more players, in order to generate more profit. This happened, as many know, after Blizzard was acquired by Activision. Not the players' fault, by far. Of course that in no way this invalidates what you said, and I very much agree that the word of some is worth more than others when it comes to how long they will actually play for. I maintain my preference for a vote. But I fully understand why that is not possible. In fact, it is probably foolish of me to think that people would vote in anything other than the realm they want to play on.
  3. Have you worked on a server before? If so, forgive me, but if not, please notice how you understood the logistical complication involved in a project dealing with a huge amount of players, such as this. This is a project derived of the desire to offer people a pure Vanilla experience, and for free at that. It is entirely made for the community, by people who, thankfully for us, are willing to donate both their time and skill to do so. It is to my understanding that the most pleasing option, statistically, would be the most voted one. Of course, that the team must have indeed analyzed these options and did not choose their release schedule at random, and because I trust them, I do not contest. I merely stated how I would've done things, with my current knowledge.
  4. I meant a vote on the main site of the project, up for a few days, I'm sure people would partake in it. But I see what you mean. Regarding friction, I hope you're right.
  5. I bet that if you could go back and listen to yourself back then, you'd probably be scared, haha. I am inclined to believe, based off of the behavior of both "groups" present in these forums (groups being the old Nost players and the people who will roll of fresh) that if the situation was it's very opposite, the group with the unsatisfying release schedule would behave no differently.
  6. Edgy formatting, what's wrong with the default text? On topic, though; Undead Rogue, master race, master class. Change specs accordingly.
  7. I still advocate that a community vote was the way to go, but this is merely personal preference and opinion. I'm sure the development team had their reasoning behind it and are doing everything in the best interest of the project. Try to forgive your fellow community members for their behavior, all they want is to play, same as you and I, everyone really. I'm sure all this friction will stop once all realms are released.

    Guild Capacity Question

Why should the original cap be raised? Managing 100 people is hell enough, more is unnecessary. I'm all for improving on certain aspects of Vanilla, but this is one of those I would rather see unchanged.
  9. To be fair some people were only made aware of Nostalrius upon it's closing, some were even awakened to the Legacy discussion during that time. Perhaps some of them have been waiting for 8 months too. It's not a matter of how long you've been waiting. It's a matter of character. Which both, unfortunately, both (some) newcomers and Nost veterans alike severely lack .
  10. It's definitely not too late. It will be far easier to be on par with everyone else if you play on the fresh realm, however.
  11. I too share the disappointment of having to wait longer. I'm sure that the fresh server will not be delayed by "months", as you claim. Be patient, the wait will be over before you know it.

    Population Question

No one can know anything more specific since the servers aren't up yet.
  15. I will state this once more, I am in agreement with you and believe they hold all the rights and decision making power regarding this project and I respect all of their decisions. And now I will also state the following, again: In my humble opinion they could have let this decision up to the community, for it is a project being made for this community, with a mission to provide a Vanilla experience, freely.
  16. A bit of a shame that Nostalrius is now separated into "old" and "new". When both servers will work in the exact same way, have the exact same features (well, content will release differently, I'll give you that) and the exact same objective. To provide a true Vanilla experience. I recommend you celebrate Nostalrius, not old or new, just Nostalrius.
  17. I simply believe the option that would please the most people would be the best one, a vote could reach the most accurate representation of that very option. And yes, you are right, it is their work and effort and they are free to make any decisions as they see fit, but I have also stated this.
  18. Told you, but good effort, either way.
  19. Like I said, I do not feel that way myself. I was merely stating the facts.

    Team High Population

More population, for me, means higher immersion, since the world feels alive and I can get lost within all the interactions and general sense of things happening left and right.
  21. Whilst I understand and do agree with the general message you're trying to convey here, not only will it not get through to the people you want to reach as they will either ignore or not understand your argument, it will most likely cause unfriendly discussion, which in turn, is rather unnecessary. Keep thinking that way, though, it is a good approach to Vanilla, in my opinion.
  22. I agree very much with the general message you want to convey. People could be excellent to one another, based on the fact that we all have someone we rather love in common. Regarding the streamer we all know who it is but won't name even though he posted in this thread already, it is true that words can hurt a person, but not nearly as much as a F-22 Raptor can. So, until they decide to come at him with one of those, I'm sure he can take it.

    ERP realm should be first

Pretty sure ERP stands for Emotional Role Play. Every time I catch someone doing ERP they seem to be playing out a very intense love story.
  24. Hehe, your post count is 69...
  25. Whilst I agree that a very vocal minority of people are indeed complaining without reason and throwing more tantrums than they should, it should be said that not everyone who is displeased with the release order is lacking in manners and decency. Some do feel cheated, not that I personally feel this way, because they understood that resources were put into the PvE server, originally listed to be last on the release order, instead of the fresh realm, thus many think they got the short end of the straw. The real point of this paragraph is that just because one would prefer the fresh realm first, it doesn't necessarily make them a "entitled faggot". The problem, at least for me, lies with the fact that the development team never gave the community the choice, I find that it would make more sense to setup a vote, and base the release order off of the result. This was not what the team decided, which in all fairness, is within their rights, for it is their project. I disagree, however, but such is the state of things.
