Traps and flares are nice and all, but that doesn't kill the enemy team. Bullets do. Your biggest benefit other than damage though, is actually the Viper Sting. This is a stupidly OP debuff. But you should also take advantage of your scouting abilities, track, eagle eye, flare.

Druid healer has no competition on slots or gear. This makes them a winner, much like Hunters. It doesn't matter which class the job better; as guilds will take both classes. Stacking the same class because it's "better" means too many on it, and too few on the other. You shouldn't care if class A is better or worse damage/healing than class B. Beyond that, I suggest picking the one you enjoy. I like Undead, not Taurens, so naturally, I'd be a Priest, not Druid, if I rolled a healer.

Your main job is to deal damage. If you're not dealing as much as you can, you are deadweight to your team. Mortal Shots is required for any build that isn't BM. But if you are Survival, you should be 21/30 or 20/31; there is no contest for Mortal Shots or Lightning Reflexes. Either way, this is a decent build to do BGs. Scatter Shot is less important for enemy melee if you have Counterattack, but it's still overly important for enemy casters as a spell interrupt. FD has a 30s CD, and only stops enemy spells if YOU are the target. Scatter Shot adds a second 30s CD, and will ding the spell regardless of who is targeted. FD will not stop anyone's heal casts. Scatter Shot will.

Terrible. You should never be without Mortal Shots. Assuming you want Survival, you should be 20/31, or 21/30. I'd recommend Scatter Shot over Wyvern Sting too, but this is up to you.

There's a slight difference. The orb turns you into Forsaken, who have hair/face/clothes since they are people. The potion turns you into Scourge, who have none of these, because they are mindless drones. But all of the animations are the same, because the same base model is used for both. They just have a different paint job. I recommend the potions though as Night Elf because it doesn't hog a trinket slot, nor have a CD much longer than its own duration. The cost however depends upon how many nogger potions you buy in the long term. An orb is money wasted that could have been spent on MANY potions, but as a consumable, they will eventually run out, and in the long term, will inevitably end up sinking more gold than an orb, which has infinite uses off 1 purchase.

How will we get our Nostalrius characters?
Drain replied to tannertothej's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
According to what I've read, they're going to import all Nost accounts/characters first, then merge in Elysium second. Elysium account names will be modified to remove conflicts, and any Elysium characters with now taken character names will be forced to rename the next time you try to log them in. They're planning to give Nost accounts priority, since they were created prior to the Elysium ever opening. What I don't know is how guilds will be handled. They do not have a UI rename function like characters. This means that conflicting names will probably just be scrapped. But a guild tag is 10g... not much concern regardless. Every guild is going to have to reform anyway because you have no idea how many of your former raiders are actually going to return. Even if you keep your tag, you could very well end up having to recruit back half the recruit team. -
If you roll a Gnome Warlock and get the Orb Of Deception, you can literally become a Tauren Warlock, but it'd only be for a small while between CDs on the item. Tauren Shaman with the same orb can turn into a Gnome. These are the combinations. Human<->Orc Dwarf<->Troll Night Elf<->Undead Gnome<->Tauren It should noted though that the deviate fish already turns you into a Human, making the orb largely pointless on Orc. The same can be said about Night Elf, since nogger potions already turn you into Undead. The foods are more effective than the trinket, so when both have the same target race, the trinket is a waste.

There's tons of free wands from quest rewards, some of which are high DPS blues. But many are on quests you probably might not do, so you need to actually get a list. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?items=2.19#0+2+3+1 Blue BOEs are at some levels the best option, but they are by no means required, they just give slightly more DPS.

I was also Orc, even though our race is junk for raiding. I like swinging my reaper whenever I'm not in a raid though. Probably the only Hunter on Nost with an Arcanite Reaper. Sadly, the Spinal Reaper never dropped in my MC runs. I would have settled for that giant sword out of ZG, but I never won it. Actually lost the roll on that one a few times. It's basically a bigger Arcanite Reaper, but switches to sword.

That helps a little bit, but his mana is going to be фекал one way or the other. This is why at 50+, you just eat the thing for health regen. You see in the last bracket, you get enough talent points for Siphon Life + Demonic Sacrifice in 1 build, meaning you may as well stack the health regens, and not bother with a pet anymore.

I wanna roll a druid, could anyone give me the lowdown on them?

Warlock Versus Mage: Which class is in higher demand?
Drain replied to ohsnoes's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I'd prefer Warlock myself. No one pestering me for water all the time=good. I have my own Mage to trade the фекал to myself, problem solved. -
You really needed to make a new sock puppet to come post this?

PVP as Warlock revolves around surviving long enough for dots to kill enemies before they kill you. Every tool you have focuses towards this end. Fear/shield/stones are all defensive. Until you get Deathcoil, things are difficult, but an early game 2/2 stone and 3/3 void can make things easier. The real winner is having Master Summoner, which can mean dumping a fresh Voidwalker almost instantly for zill mana, which can then be eaten for another shield, ideally 3/3. Rushing this does mean delaying Nightfall/Siphon Life though, so the choice is yours. Eventually, you can get both, and this is when you'll feel godlike. In many situations, you'll find death unavoidable, and the best tactic is to simply revive afterwards, trying to get them killed too, even if you die again. Most players will die if a Warlock stones and starts reapplying dots, even if they kill the guy again. It's better for the enemy who ganked you to share your corpse run, rather than you being alone on it. Ideal build is Siphon Life+Master Summoner (Your choice which is first).

Warlock Versus Mage: Which class is in higher demand?
Drain replied to ohsnoes's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Mage is the better class and thus has far more players. Warlock is less contested as a result. Guilds slot both, but would rather and almost always have more Mages because they have to buff the whole raid, on top of being a water vendor, the better damage dealer, and having the best AOE. Warlocks are slotted because the guild can't find enough Mages for all of the slots, and getting both helps to spread out gear competition. The few things Warlock brings make them worth it (Curse, Soulstone, Banish); you just don't need to stack them. A stack of Mages makes more sense. There's 2 main factors when it comes to damage dealing that results in the Mage being top. First, the debuff limit renders dots pretty much useless. A Warlock needs debuff slots for its maximum damage potential; these are supposed to be ticking while they are nuking. This extra damage is lost in raids because there's no room for the debuffs. Secondly, Mages have talents to reduce their threat produced (In Fire or Frost, 30% each). This means Mages carry no real risk of ever pulling a boss. Warlocks however, in Classic, have zero methods of controlling threat. They literally just have to stop casting, doing nothing, for the threat to slowly decline on the meters. (Warriors have the same problem vs Rogues) This is an issue that was fixed in BC, where Blizzard finally decided to give Warlocks anti threat abilities. They also gave Warriors a Fury talent that reduces threat. Note that both of these changes come on top of the class swap, which allowed Horde to get Blessing of Salvation. In Classic, this OP buff is restricted to the Alliance. -
Why invest in Defiance for threat, which adds no DPS, when you could invest in the DPS, killing фекал faster, which in turn would create more threat anyway? This is why Protection is pointless in the lower levels. Your damage reduction doesn't matter, only your ability to keep threat, and dealing more damage is a perfectly fine way to do this. The lower levels are not difficult. Anyone with a plank of wood equipped can tank well enough, and damage talents on top of the defense stance alone should be enough to keep a mob's attention. I leveled a Warrior on Nost, and I tanked 1-50 as straight up Fury without a fuss. There's basically no reason pre 50 to put any points in Protection. Even into the 50s, you could manage tanking ST/BRD tanking; it'll just be harder. Personally I recommend BRD as Protection, because that place is a hellhole, and tanking emperor runs is the best way you're going to get a HOJ. The sooner the better, because the XP doesn't get any nicer as you get closer to 60. It makes more sense to farm it at 55-59, than post 60, where there's zero XP and you could be in top dungeons instead. If you don't care about DPS items... then ya, just get to 60, then get ready for the 100 or so UBRS runs it'll take to get your shield.

The Greatest list of Pros vs. Cons on what server to play.

Glad someone noticed this. I bet he'll never be seen on that sockpuppet again. -
I typed s h i t. I'm not used to this board's baby censoring. I assume the other guy typed the same thing. I hate forum censors, as if someone's child is going to read a damn internet forum. Please.

Hunter is fantastic if you want an easy class with little to no raiding effort. If you want skill or attention span to be required... you should look over to Rogue. The DPS does not matter; guilds will take both classes regardless. What matters is how much YOU enjoy playing it. But... I remember 1 MC raid with my guild where I was top DPS (out of the full run, not vs a specific boss). All our top Mages/Rogues must have been asleep that run. They said it was a fluke which would never happen again (and it never happened more than once). It sure woke them the hell up on future meters though; they must have been embarrassed. I wonder if that can be dug out of a stats site; it would make for a good signature link lol.

The 5 skill covers the last bit of the miss penalty between 8 and 9. The 9th % hit slot is mostly wasted, as it is in excess. The 5 skill however allows for better gearing(8hit+5skill=cap). For melee, it also removes most of the Glancing Blow penalty, because the bulk of the penalty is on the third level (63), not 61 or 62. (The same is true for spells, most of their resist penalty is on the third level up) But for ranged, there are no Glancing Blows, so you receive almost nothing for 6+. You won't use a bow forever, but what's important is that you get one at the start. Your first T1 BIS is a bow (Hunter quest), and this is more meaningful than having the bonus at some later date. Later on down the road, you'll have purple tier pieces or other slots with +hit on it, and can probably consider getting the +hit scope as well. But I doubt a scrub raider trying to pay for Batskin or Devilsaur is also going to want an incredibly overprice scope. But fyi, if you're Horde, you can slot this nice little toy. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=19120 Always an easy way to get that last 1% if you need it. Alliance has no comparable version. There's no real sacrifice for using this because our DM trinket is фекал to begin with, and we already don't use a HOJ. There's nothing good to put on that 2nd slot after a Blackhand.

If you're always grouped with a Warrior, DPS is not a concern for you. Consider going Restoration, to simply keep that Warrior swinging, and she will do all of the damage for you. A Warrior with heals has no reason to stop fighting. She will not run out of rage anytime soon. Her health (or your mana) running out is the only reason to stop. Heals are more mana efficient than damage.
-
Tell her to go Fury. This is the most ideal DPS route for mobs, and she should tank fine until she gets 50+. It isn't as good tanking Protection, but until 50+, tanking isn't hard to begin with. Low level gear btw lacks any kind of defense, so you basically proc Blood Craze/Enrage every single fight. These buffs will be ticking non stop for entire dungeon runs. At 50+ is when you should consider a respec to Protection. ST has a spike in difficulty, and BRD is even higher. The main benefit though is better farming for the HOJ, which is BIS out of BRD.

I'd assume we're all going to get resets before the accounts can be logged in. It'd be pretty damn stupid not to, as there would be hacks out the попа before legitimate owners had a chance to secure them.

Pottu protect Chinese Gold/BG farmer ? #OSoC
Drain replied to Tudi's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
He's good at doing voices, something I damn sure don't have, but his grieving on Chinese players won't matter much. You're only delaying the inevitable. It doesn't matter how many times they die. They'll keep coming back, and eventually, get 60 like everyone else. They need bans, which you can't hand out. You also can't tell the difference between legitimate Chinese players and gold sellers; you're just grieving on sight based on their names. The majority of Nost Chinese were actually normal players. They may have been mute morons, but they ran their own world chat, dungeons, raids, organized BGs, etc. Your sellers are a minority within the Chinese, which they also hate, as it gives them all a bad reputation and discrimination. One thing that'd help more than anything else is to host a Chinese server. With these players rolling over there on that, rather than with the rest of us, what you'd be left with here would just be sellers. They'd become 1,000x easier to detect and ban. -
The Greatest list of Pros vs. Cons on what server to play.

My Hunter had dibs on a Spinal Reaper. But the damn thing never dropped. No one else in the guild cared about the thing, and the 1 Arms Warrior in our raid nights already had a Bonereaver. I was going to use the thing to farm and chop at Alliance in BGs.
