Keeping this running in no way stops official servers from happening. This is what morons can't seem to realize. If anything, it encourages them. We should have this option until (IF) official hosts it. Not shutdown then pray for miracles. Fuck Nostalrius, good riddance. If they had their way, we'd never have a server anymore, because we'd spend the next century waiting for Blizzard to do it, or until we're all dead, one or the other. I'll take this over nothing. If you want the nothing, then simply don't play.

Our official response to Nostalrius — Elysium will prevail!Drain replied to Shenna's topic in Official Information You don't have to give up shit. You can totally tell Nost to fuck off, and you should. The code is now yours, as are all accounts/characters transferred. They have no power over you what so ever. Nost has been a bunch of deceptive pricks for a long time now, and you've no reason to honor their "request" to fuck everyone over again.

Selling character names is worse than selling gold. I hope they free up all the names you hogged after you're banned.

Unless you're buying BOEs, the first decent wand is out of DM or WC, then there's a nice quest reward one from BFD that will last a while.

Is the Nost PvP economy screwed up? CHEAP Arcane crystalsDrain replied to Jakobud's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions There's zero demand for an arcanite weapon once AV is out. You may as well rep up the freebie purple rather than pay out the ass for an inferior blue. AV btw also pops veins, and these are bonus veins for the population, not part of the outside world. This means that a bigger population can easily get an inflation of thorium by farming it in AVs. More people, more AVs, more ore, a circular situation. Then you've got DME, which brought with it vein farm runs. Again, these are not part of the outside world, and it's a guaranteed 2 rich veins per run. These used to be popular, but have since become rare, due to the sink in value of thorium veins. Personally I'd suggest AV anyway, because of the rep, unless you're already exalted. Unless your rep is done, you should get your thorium in here.

I used to offer these back on the original Nost PVP, and now I'm back offering them here. I'm already posting regularly in world chat, on whichever character I'm on at the time. This is for Horde side. What does this service do? It summons Helnurath, another boss for DMW. For Warlocks on their steed quest, it negates the need for them to dump another +250g to get their dreadsteed. I already have the mats you'd be spending that on, and I'm willing to come use mine for quite a bit less than what the greedy NPC will charge you to buy your own. The chain itself will eat plenty of gold before you even get to this point, but you can at least save the last 200 or more. What quest do I need to be on? --> http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=7631 If you are on any step before this one, you need to complete them first. You must be on the last step of the chain, which requires you to go into DMW. Will you summon Helnurath for anyone else? Absolutely. You don't have to be a Warlock nor on the steed quest to fight the boss for his drops, but I've yet to ever see a group pay for summons for this purpose. 50g: I will to the best of my ability do a whole DMW run with you, simply adding Helnurath to the kill list, completing the quest. Most go for this because it is easy to arrange. I cannot guarantee the group will succeed, but I do not charge until we are going to start the event, which is near the end, meaning most of DMW will be done. 25g: I accept this if you pre clear the dungeon, then summon me just to come for the event. This means having a group willing to stick around to summon me after the run is over, then running back in for the boss event. If the group is still full, 1 DPS will have to be sacrificed for my slot. Split: I charge per run, not per player. Other players could divide up the cost with you, which means you could very well bring a 2nd Warlock who also needs the quest, and split the cost in half. There's 3 DPS slots, and nothing preventing them all from being Warlocks. If there's any other questions, send a message or mail. I post in world regularly, and my time zone is U.S. East. I am on nights in my time, posting to world from whichever character I'm on at the time.

These are the first 10 Warlocks since the relaunch who got their steeds from my runs. This is over 2,000g saved which otherwise would have been flushed down the vendor's toilet. Diminutive, Sivul, Fancybrkfst, Deathmode, Enhunnd, Thebigpickle, Strelokagain, Fatlenny, Dishwasherr, Valdre. If you want one, look for my posts in world chat or send a letter to Untoten.

They aren't "required" for shit. They're just the best options vs anything else.
-
I noticed these. Drain Soul does not increase its range with Grim Reach. It's an Affliction spell. It should go up. Improved Drain Mana does nothing at all. It'll never do any damage to the target. They were never fixed on Nost, and still aren't fixed here.

Nothing stopping you from that route, mine is just more convenient. You can always get cloth, so you don't need to guess on the amount. If you don't get enough stones and ore, you'll end up having to buy it. But you could always just have a dif char mine it. These things are only concerns if you're limited to 1 char. If you simply leveled 2 chars, you could put mining on the 2nd one.
-
Take engineering first, then after it's done at 300, dump mining for tailoring. Both is recommended for casters because of the bloodvine items. Engineering is the better first choice because it needs mining. Tailoring is easier to work later because you can horde cloth or come back to farm for it later.

You should want the pet as soon as possible. It's extra DPS you won't otherwise have without it. It's a large part of your DPS too, in the lower levels. Just pray that the staff here, unlike the pricks from Nost, actually care about its players, and reduce timers.
-
I'm also sick of them. It's another douche dumping threads to promote their pointless video. This place is not here for your own advertisement. Should I dump mine in here too then? Come watch Krank level through classic World of Warcraft!

This was the most worthless "guide" on Nost. Not everything should be necroed. Some things should be left to rot, like this thread now. It's hard to think of bigger wastes of gold than a Nightfall on a Hunter. I guess a Thunderfury would be a bigger waste... shame you can't dual wield them. A Hunter with 2x Thunderfurys; now that'd be a sight to behold. You'd be king of the shortbus.
-
Slot the talent if you want to prevent this, and pray you don't roll a 1-10.
-
Unless you want to get high PVP ranks; I recommend Night Elf. Their racials are more generally useful. Dwarf can be nice when you get a gun, but most of the time, you won't have one, and GL finding one at 60. Even our own class quest has a bow, with no option for guns, which is insulting. I feel sorry for Dwarf Hunters. I would have preferred a gun myself, but I have neither skills as an Orc, so it's of no concern of mine in the long run.
-
A wolf is always best in groups. Nothing else will compete with this group buff. Only outside groups is there really a contest... any serious Hunter at 60 will bring a wolf for dungeons or raids (assuming you use a pet at all). Note you can have the pet sit next to you at max range, not attacking, and just howl every CD so you get more ranged DPS. This is best done during Aimed Shots in your rotation. For anything else, it's a matter of preference. Boars are great to level with, since they will eat anything. They're good tanks and the charge is useful to open up on mobs. But the DPS is pitiful. Scorpids have high DPS on top of armor, but are slow and only eat meat. For DPS, I'd recommend cat or serpent, but these are weak pets. I recommend them mainly for hunting players, who will ignore the pet. For tanking mobs, it's better to have one with thick armor. Assuming you level as BM, a pet has no trouble keeping aggro over you, so you should just go for a tough pet, one which will shrug off the attacks of mobs.

Crestfall was doomed as soon as Elysium announced its Nost core and transfers. Now it'll be left with hand me down players, which are those who have quit simply from being banned or hacked, or who haven't started yet. This won't be many players. If the fresh server launches before Crestfall, they'll have even fewer to attract. Once people are invested in a server, it's not easy to get them to start over again.

I can't wait for the release, so these idiots will be proven wrong, and also leave our realm. We're tired of this dead horse of a topic, and all the idiots who think our realm is doomed. Nost PVP will thrive for a long time, even if it isn't the biggest realm anymore. If you want to move, then move, but stop acting like it's going to be a barren dead ghost town as a result; it will not. The world doesn't revolve around you, nor do MMO realms. It's this elitist all or nothing black or white mentality, where something is either highest/best/etc, or it's worthless. The world doesn't work this way. All of these realms will have a decent population. It does not matter which one is biggest. So many of you folks are going to feel stupid after the release, and rightfully so. It reminds me of the folks who kept touting that our population was bots back during the original release.
-
Being an Atheist, am I forced to disagree with you? But we need to just wait it out until we get more realms. We either have lagg, or queue times; neither are good. Everyone tried to tell them launching with only 2 realms wasn't a good idea; but they insisted, trying to beat Christmas, for some reason. I just hope plenty of these fresh scrubs cluttering us up will move when the new one opens.
-
Why people want fresh so much?Drain replied to brunoviek's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions Most probably want it because they have nothing invested into the older ones, and want a fair start. I fail to see why this is frowned upon. Starting new on a server as old as Nost PVP at this point is miserable. What I also fail to see though is why they have to act like children about those of us who are staying with the older realms. We have investments here, and aren't eager to start all over if we don't have to. I've seen nothing but hatred between 2 different groups of idiots, who both act as if the other doesn't have the right to exist, or that its players deserve scorn and mockery. Point is, play on whichever one you want, let others do the same, and shut up about it.

This reminds me of that South Park episode about stupid spoiled whores. But where as that was entertaining to watch, this is simply pathetic. But I guess we'll have to get used to these kind of... threads, as the moderators seem to have abandoned ship.

	What happened to Pottu?

Swords will always be best face to face with mobs. Maces could be good in theory but there aren't enough of them to go around. Almost all the dungeon drops and quest rewards are swords. Daggers only excel at shanking from behind, which means someone else needs to have the mob's attention. If you want to be versatile, you could slot Hemo for mobs.
