DM Tribute runs question
Undertanker replied to Ellipsea's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
4 guards. Kill them all, no loot in chest. Kill some, a couple items in chest. Kill none, a lot of items in chest. What people would do is, only have the healer talk to the NPC to summon the chest and get the king buff. 4 remaining people would back track through the guards and kill them on the way out to get more loot or D/E Vendor fodder. The made it so after you complete tribute, the guards don't drop loot. -
Bezerking when he gets low HP to get 30% faster attack speed = 30% more rage generation during up-time for more abilities to use on threat. +5 skill gives about 8% more white hit rage all the time. End game fully buffed (w/ world buffs) around 12,500. 5%, is an extra 625 HP putting you at 13,125 HP. Every bit helps with Patchwerk.

It is a 25% proc, and I stray away from factoring that into the RAW dps, as I only wanted to give others an understand of the rage gen vs other high end epics. The proc damage is a binary spell. It either hits for 300 or gets resisted. No partial resist. So you can easily calculate the damage of the proc in terms of additional dps. Edit: Since posting I now experience partial resist. So we will use this chart: Bosses have a natural lower base nature resist than fire/frost/shadow/arcane. 70 NR to be precise. Which is a 17.5% chance to resist. However -25 NR debuff puts the boss at 45 NR which is 11.25% to resist Thunderfury proc. We can use this remaining 88.75% as the basis for average damage. 300 x 0.8875 = 266.25 damage. In 60 seconds you get 32.5 auto attacks assuming you attack at 0 seconds. An additional 40 global cooldowns can be performed as well in this time. 72.5 attacks, at a 25% proc rate. 18.125 procs occur on average in 60 seconds. 266.25 * 18.125 procs gives us 4825.78 damage extra a minute. Divided by 60 seconds gives us an extra 80.42 damage a second from the proc, on a level 63/boss. In total we get 62 dps which generates rage and an additional 80.42 dps from the proc. 142.42 pure dps from the weapon. Putting it on par with the dps of the Artifact weapons.

I had some drunk math going on there. It's not that high. It should match RAW dps (not including proc) of a 62 DPS weapon. The Math To see how this stacks up with other epic weapons raw tool-tip DPS we need to take 60% of the dps value to match the armor reductions of 40%. Using Grand Marshals / High Warlord weapons of 59.5 DPS, when factoring in 40% armor reduction, you get 35.7 DPS. Currently only Crul'Shorukh has a higher raw DPS tool-tip of 62.8 vs TF 62 when facing a debuffed boss. Naturally this information is most useful to tanks whom don't have to take instant attacks based off of weapon damage into consideration. Though this gives us a good idea of our rage gains based on white hits.

[GUIDE] Fury Pre-Raid-BiS-List / Specs / Enchants(Updated to Patch 1.8)
Undertanker replied to Mitycircin's topic in Warrior
Swing 1 will be 0.00. You start the fight swinging. So your 100th swing would be the free swing, not 101st per your chart. Either was doesn't matter much. Though a lot of people forget to use a 0 factor on first attack when discussing weapon speed advantages. -
Decursive has a built in stop casting feature. So if you spam the hell out of the button, you will stop casting your decurse/remove poison or w/e you are using, causing your toon to just stand there with his hands in the air.... like he just don't care.... Also verify that your self cast button is clicked under interface.
-
Yeah it's counted into the weapon DPS but is not factored into the damage reduction percentage attributed by armor. A boss with sunder armor and the works has about 40% damage reduction. So the +elemental damage portion isn't taking that 40% hit. This gives Thunderfury a 77.8 DPS value. 62 DPS. See below.

Calculations need sound math or its called BS which adding this comment is over half your post. Crusader is needed to fuel harder white hits for more rage. Gives more rage than .75 crit. Deathbringer has over 55% uptime on crusader. 110 AP average before buffs. Or 15 agility.... maybe your calculations can help us all here.
-
Nice try again. You are not factoring in initial weapon swing damage/rage which doesn't take into account weapon speed. Second, you are not dropping remainders with your damage thresholds, not factoring in crusader uptime differentials. #Deathbringer

Even less with my gear. So to help with your threat per second: If I am 100% HP and I know that a crit/crushing from the mob can't kill me and can't line up with some magic mechanic, I'll not use shield block on purpose to eat a crit/crushing to get more damage taken so I can generate more threat. This is selective of when, how much HP you got, and on what mobs you do this for.
-
Damage done. 30 damage done = 1-rage gained. 90 damage taken = 1-rage gained. Don't spread completely wrong information.

Princess theradras scepter vs gatorbite axe with Axemastery?
Undertanker replied to Penkis's topic in Warrior
So many threads like this. Just start posting your math homework as well I guess. -
Also a slower weapon allows for a stronger opening swing when first hitting the mob/boss. Allowing you then to do a Sunder / Shield slam (If it crit) right at the start of the pull.
-
To me Quel is better than Defender. More rage from white hits and proc is up well more than 1/3 of the time, giving more average def.

Finally!!! Grinded hard now I can use epic daggers!
Undertanker replied to PaulyPepperoni's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Gotmilk you are wrong on this. Drop it. It takes more concentration leveling dagger, but your damage done vs damage received ratio is far better for dagger. Meaning less down time and less times letting bonus crit expire. 97%-ambush crit before factoring gear/agility. Energy watch to use it right before tick. Love how you guys says, just SS and it's dead. You grinding rabbits? You are doing fractions of damage from SS vs Ambush. Backstab 30% more crit too. -
Expected behavior judging by your referenced instances. BRD - Arena boss is a big one for sometimes not having anything. Scholo the 6 mini-bosses may drop loot, or may not. The items from sets have a 1% chance to drop off each boss, each having a 2% chance to drop a specific item. So average a 1.2% chance to drop Deathbone Chest/Cadaverous Armor per run. 5 pieces of loot per set, 3 sets. along with their normal drops of a BoE, you are looking at a 33% chance they drop a blue piece of loot. +5% chance for BoE Tier 0 BoE item. So 38% chance total. If BRD Emp/Princess don't drop loot, feel free to update your bug tracker.

I did a drunken scholo pug for the hell of it late Tuesday night and only had 3 skeletons per port, and I was able to kill them as a prot warrior without too much issue. For sure didn't have anywhere near 7k health. Though I use a tanking strategy of LoSing him using the stair case with ranged/healer healer above to kite/jump if I get ported. He'd still port me when I was not LoS, but I think that spell may be unavoidable by LoS canceling. Still a nice strat with minimal damage for any tanks that struggle with that fight.

T2.5/early T3 and the damage meter chart
Undertanker replied to AbsoluteWater's topic in Dungeons & Raids
Setup provided you with the most accurate answer OP. Though you are correct to rank the mage with whom ever started the ignite as a high dps, but as you know that is skewed as it is a group of mages doing that. And this would be rated on a pure tank and spank fight. Ofc mechanics prevent classes from having 100% on a majority of the fights, so a per boss basis, certain classes will excel. -

Leveling only with grinding

95% of the wave of players in 2004/2005. Quest info was limited and not knowing where to go was a pain. Just grind and get tested exp and do instances. -

Just make a new thread with the correct information and title. And don't bump this one any more. Issue will fix itself in 48 hours.

Force Reactive Disk will make your life so much easier. Put a spike on it too. The proc itself has a 50% chance to damage the shield by 1 durability point. So don't just keep it on at all times. Just the AoE pulls, and once you've established the AoE threat you need to maintain the pull, swap to your other shield mid combat.
-
You don't need an alt to farm. Understand the economy, what items are got, and grind for them. Some come from level 38 mobs. Some from level 18 mobs, so on. I will not detail by trade secrets, but highest level mobs does not mean highest gold per hour.
