				Costs to Level Efficiently
Undertanker replied to Destron's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
To add to this, if you are a frost mage, you may pass on arcane missiles, fire spells (but get fire blast since you'll use in your frost rotation). Locks can pass on abilities they won't use, hunters as well. Rogues and Warriors typically use all of their abilities on a situational basis (warriors can skip on slam IF they don't want to use it). In terms of "farming" Mages and locks are known to go into DM east and AoE grind the flower type adds, reset and repeat until locked out for the hour and repeat on and on. They drop good vendor loot, herbs, and fodder. Which is consistent gold per hour. Tip: in Vanilla items are needed for raiding that drop from mobs level 35+ so even if you are a healer, tank or what ever you will still have specific things you can grind on quickly for money. Don't count on people telling you their best spots for doing this as then those areas would be crowded even more. -

				Please breakdown "Rolling Ignites"
Undertanker replied to meddlingmage's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
To go a bit deeper into your other questions about this since Killer already explained how it is supposed to work "first 5 crits". It is not something that needs to be cast. It is a talent that is passive to the crits your fire damage spells do. All mages in raid would try to get their big crits off with trinkets and what not at the start of the fight. They typically then switch to scorch spamming to keep the ignite from falling off, as they only need to do a fire spell crit to reset the timer on it. These lesser crits wouldn't affect the ticking damage already on. In regards to threat, hell yes this can be an issue. There needs to be communication between the mages in raid to keep things under control. Which ever mage gets the first crit to start the ignite debuff on the boss, will get all the subsequent ignite ticking damage aggro, along with their own cast, this is a lot of threat per second. To counter this, you can do 1 of 2 things, the first is around 65% of boss HP is normally when the ignites aggro starts getting out of hand. Mage class leader or raid leader calls for mages to stop fire damage. They can either take this time to use evocation for a few seconds or pop off a couple frost spells. After a few seconds all the other mages except the mage who initiated the first ignite begins casting fire spells again, the high aggro mage continues with frost spells until he sees one of the other mages gets an ignite going and then he can resume fire spells as well. 1 reset should be good enough on a pure dps race. In Naxx, boss mechanics will cause this to fall off more often than not, a couple bosses you may need to call for a reset, but shouldn't be too bad. For leveling, some will say fire, but IMO just go pure frost. So much survival and the Shatter talent is OP since you don't have crit gear while leveling. Make use of rank 1 frost bolt during world pvp, is epic when they get frozen from that spell (0.5 second cast) and then hit them with a big frost bolt (+50% crit), then nova, big frost bolt + cone of cold (+50% crit), use Cold snap and repeat nova frost bolt, Cone of cold. Then blink out if by some way of god somebody lived through that. For raiding, the mix between arcane and frost will come into play. Before AQ-40: You'll want either a mage with 100% raid attendance or 2 mages running either: 10/0/41 21/0/30 both get the Winter's Chill debuff to give all mages 10% more chance to crit with frost spells. The first one includes improved blizzard which makes farming easier, and certain mechanics like phase 1 of Nefarian really easy. Also a lot of 20 man trash and BWL goblin backs easier as well. You get shatter for more burst damage and pvp/farming. The second of the two is more focused on raid damage going deeper into arcane for Presence of Mind for an instant cast frost bolt to add to your rotation. The rest of the frost mages will want to spec: 31/0/20 this takes you all the way down arcane for Arcane Power for a dps cooldown and still picks up the direct increase to damage frost abilities. When AQ-20/40 is out, all mages will want to be Fire and work together on rolling ignites as explained above. -

Random Paladin Discussion (only regarding Paladin issues and stuffs related to Paladins)
Undertanker replied to killerduki's topic in Paladin
Even with being crit immune *440 def* you can still purposely take a crit in 5 mans by /sit macro or pressing x if you didn't rebind it. Not recommended for hard hitting bosses/raid bosses, but good for AoE tanking trash. Talent isn't worthless as you need it for shield specialization and it becomes a defensive cooldown by taking 1 crit to make take shield block value x5 less damage after. So if your shield block value x5 =/> 50% of the damage taken from the crit, it helped you. -
If healing/buffing, dwarf can be nice because you can get rid of a lot of PVE debuffs like bleeds/poisons. While soloing you have a CD for survivability. And while healing if you get healing threat, you have a Stun, however that is it. Stone-form could save your life. Reason people say spirit is useless for pally is because you'll never go 5+ seconds without casting in raids to get spirit regen to kick in. Also your class doesn't have talents that allow x% of spirit to be converted into healing or continued regen while casting.

I would take the DPS one for the +hit, yes.
 -
I believe you are thinking of base HP. When you have +stam gear on, it slows down visually, relative to your total HP amount with gear.

Which class to start fresh with?
Undertanker replied to gotmilk0112's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
@eyeofhal you level fury as 2H to avoid additional miss penalty. @gotmilk you mention that warrior leveling is a pain even with greens/blues. So if it is a pain regardless, doesn't seem it should be your deciding factor. It would actually be easier being over populated on fresh realm since those big "camps" that you'll usually die in trying to get that 1 item will be cleared out most times and you can get a lot more 1 vs 1 against mobs. That is what I experienced on Nost day 1 leveling from warrior and it was that way until the mid 30s. I think the more important question is, what do you want to do raiding wise for your warrior? If you are wanting to Tank in raids, I highly recommend making the warrior your first to 60. Raid tanks are usually a cut throat market, and have a much less revolving door than other classes/specs. Getting 60 quick, getting a lot of your pre-raid BiS can get your foot into the door as a MT, 2nd/3rd or even 4th guild tank. You'll have everybody in your guild needing 5 mans, if you can be there tanking those for them, they'll quickly be more comfortable with seeing you as the tank and you can establish that roll for yourself. If you plan on being DPS/Fury in raids, it's not as big of a deal, but still harder finding a raid spot than a mage. I for sure understand the mage thing for DM East gold, however how much gold do you really need when only Onxyia and MC are out? You'll have plenty of raid down time to continue leveling your alt mage to 60 and have him available for gold farming when you are doing more raids per week with the release of BWL+ZG. You won't be as prone to buying a lot of stuff on the AH for a mage alt compared to a warrior alt, so you won't drop as much gold into them while leveling. What will make mage better on fresh server is mob tagging will be easier with instant cast spells and AoE on a spawn point. This will help you get ahead of the masses and make leveling faster. -

				Breakdowns from a Nost Vet
Undertanker replied to Destron's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I find it funny when druids get so much hate on their healing. They have a slower 2.5 second cast time which means they do get heal sniped more, but that isn't an issue with them being weak healers, that is an issue with other classes wanting to shine more on meters rather than allow the already casting heal on somebody to go off (which you can see incoming heals on people using Luna Raid Frames). Like 1 person mentioned, they do have fights they excel at which are fights that have incoming raid damage. Being a successful druid healer has a skill cap that if you can reach makes you great, it requires a lot of pre-casting before the damage happens, and putting low rank HoTs on your raid when you know raid damage is about to happen (before it actually happens). Examples: Goldshire Golfclub (Vanilla Gaming) #1 Guild: http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/RaidOverview.aspx?Raid=52265 Druids are #1 and #3 in raw heals, one is #2 in efficient heals, other is lower, both are high in overheals because people are heal sniping them. Team is working against each other for healing numbers. Here is a few links from realmplayers on Nost with my alt. I then groups I'm in, I am the worst geared healer and I perform VERY well: Onxyia (beating out top 7 pally who heal snipes): http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/RaidOverview.aspx?Raid=37319 I didn't have DMC trinket/Jindo Hexxer or T2 helm on this fight. Min overhealing at #9. PUG Molten Core (#2 in healing #9 in overhealing. I was raiding leading and what not as well) http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/RaidOverview.aspx?Raid=37426 still not DMC trinket/Jindo's Hexxer in this raid. Druids have 3 bosses they have to spam decurse as well . Here is the Rag kill http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/FightOverview.aspx?Raid=37426&Fight=11 (top healer, bottom overhealer). ZG (#1 in healing) #2 in overhealing, was getting snipped hard. http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/RaidOverview.aspx?Raid=37723 I will back up Theloras in the fact on a server that doesn't allow 1.3 second heroic strike spam, a Pally can out aggro a warrior. I know of 2 guilds on Kronos that used a Pally for MT on most of their content they were speed clearing because of this. On fights that have buffet, Warriors would taunt and eat them and it would turn back to the pally. For those who do not know rage gains suck for a tank on that server. My quick description of classes: Warrior: Best tank vs physical hard hitting bosses. Weak AoE tanking threat. Great PVE damage. Great PVP with partner. Rogue: Great PVE damage. Great PVP battlegrounds (stun locking healers, finishing off runners behind the lines, defending/capturing objectives and fun would PVP. Druid: Medium PVE damage for feral (requires VERY specific gear #Manual Crowd Pummeler and a raid that can kill the boss in a fast amount of time) can sub in as a tank for an add with out losing too much dps to your raid compared to making a fury warrior tank. Medium tank in PVE would be better assigned to bosses that do more magic damage than physical due to not being able to get crit immune and can not push crushing blows off the table. Buy typically have a higher health pool which helps with magic heavy bosses. Go decent in AoE tanking compared to a warrior. PVE ranged damage, same with feral, it CAN be done, but requires gear that you will have a lot of competition for, and your damage meters will look low unless the boss goes down fast. Healing, as covered above, is more about skill cap and anticipation of damage. Think of the healing as proactive, as a pally would be more reactive. Pally: Medium PVE damage, same with feral requires very specific gear, excels on undead/demon fights. Consistent damage over a long fight compared to a feral which on a long fight drops in dps. Great dispellers for raids regardless of spec as they can carry an MP5 set and a relic in AQ lowers this cost. As healers, great fast/small heals which can be good for countering raid damage, and giving a constant flow of heals to the tank while priest/druid pump larger heals. Best AoE tanks in game, though incoming loot can be slow when first raiding however speeds up as warriors primarily want Tier items and a few non tier AQ40 items. Can out aggro warriors in rage starvation situations. They can get crit immune, but not crushing immune. Lower EPH compared to druid-bear or warrior. Also good against magic damaging bosses if rage is an issue. Priest: shadow - Medium PVE damage but provide a good increase to the warlocks as well, more than covering their advantage to the raid. 2 debuff slots, sometimes 3 depending on the content and 20 vs 40 man. Can reck in PVP. Doesn't need much hit gear, can focus SP+MP5 to make up for their lack of mana gaining abilities. Best "all around" healer, as they can pump out fast heals such as a pally, slowers heals such as a druid, HoTs for raid damage and shields which help after damage spikes. Shaman: Elemental medium pve damage, similar issues with druid ranged, fight length can greatly affect meters. Bring totems to raid group which everybody loves regardless of spec. Enhancement is really good PVP, not so great in PVE, though if your raid has one, should be swinging that nightfall along with offtanks. Healing they are the best melee raid healers due to their chain-heal being a smart heal. Hunter: Medium PVE damage but provides utility such as kiting, tranq shot, traps, and something many people overlook, the ability to drop threat on aggro sensitive fights. Best example of aggro dropping would be Broodlorde, hunters can go harder earlier along with rogues, drop threat (hope it doesn't resist) and resume. These types of fights they can outperform other classes who'd have to go light dps for a good portion. They are fun in PVP / battlegrounds and world. Not much competition for loot as Tier gear serves you well, 1h weapons for hunters usually are not as good for other classes, ranged weapon Hunter bow quest and then X-Bow BWL should hold you over until Naxx. Mage: Great PVE damage, burst PVP damage. Great mobility and survival skills. Has good aggro reduction talents and set bonus. Great for farming, consistent Gold per hour "GPH". Warlock: Great PVE damage, LoL DoT/Fear/Seduce PVP. Lacks aggro reduction, and will want to pick up Fetish of the Sand Reaver once you get BiS and have to hold back on certain fights. Lacks +hit/-resist in talents so will prioritize Hit gear more than a mage. Decent for farming, not as good as a mage. Greatly great at solo pve/pvp. Good defenders in BGs working with pet. This is just my personal feedback. It is important you play what you like. -
Spell power on your spell power weapon for threat building. On fights where you are not the kill target or you have a huge % of threat already, you'll want a weapon with Stam/Def with 15 agil on it. I'll let the Pally-duo elaborate on scaling portion of your question.

Yeah I really didn't understand why he put that. I saw no animosity between Killer and I in this thread. -

Elysium Stress Test #1 — Crashing for a Better Future

We need to talk about your Avatar.... -
Are you referring to Ring of the Qiraji Fury? I would go with: Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight (DPS Ring) for threat and pair it with Band of Accuria for 2 crit, 2 dodge (before buffs), 3 hit and 23 stam. If not going for 8/9 hit (rage starved setup), and using 6 hit setup (specials hit cap), I'd then take off the Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight and put on Ring of Emperor Vek'lor to pair with: Band of Accuria. If you need a full tank setup for fights like Patch in Naxx, you can then put on Angelista's Touch with Ring of Emperor Vek'lor

Depending on server scripting, yes. On Nost I faired better spamming demo shout in BWL Suppression room. On Kronos I faired better spamming Battle Shout with my group in range of me, would only demo for the debuff.

Killerduki, he isn't talking about taking damage from a critter. He is talking about killing the critter = more rage. That is blizzlike. I used to have to yell at the rogues and hunters 1 shotting critters in Scholo as we moved along because they were causing my rage pool to go to 0 before we got to where we were going. If they want to prevent a Pally from Recking Bomb people off critter crits, just turn off the auto attack from the critters, but not giving warriors rage when we kill them is a bug. (no pun intended)

				Question about Nost character data
Undertanker replied to gotmilk0112's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Yeah no clue. If only the main announcement was PINNED..... oh ..... https://forum.elysium-project.org/index.php?showtopic=22768&page=1 "PvP, PvE & fresh start You will be able to choose which realm (in case of multiple realms) (already confirmed only 1 old realm to transfer to) that you will be able to transfer your character to and resume playing as if Nostalrius never left. You will not be able to transfer from PvP to PvE, and so Elysium characters will only be able to join a PvP realm and Nostalrius PvE characters will only join a PvE realm." You can't type, "from what I've read" and make up anything you want after. -

Legacy needed more than ever, Legion has failed.
Undertanker replied to Docholy's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Just gonna throw this out there: A retail streamer in a video was talking about making the harder raids more "accessible to people with lower i-lvls". Somebody suggested, just get into a guild. The majority of the people including the streamer referred to it as a "social issue". Today I learned guilds create a "social issue" when you are playing an MMO. -
Rogues and mages perform well, and are not difficult to gear. They both are good for dropping/keeping aggro low through abilities or threat reduction talents. Rogue combat swords. For PVE go Human alli or Orc/Troll horde. Best raiding consumables can get expensive. Farming isn't hard solo, but can't AoE farm like a mage so GPH (gold per hour) is more random and based on what drops. Mages Arcane frost until AQ releases then Fire mage. They are good at farming for Gold and consumables are not that bad, a little bit cheaper than Warlock. You should see the class specific forums start to fill up as server launch day(s) get closer, keep an eye on those for any specific information you need.

Is account sharing allowed with my brother?
Undertanker replied to Test3410's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
"So tell us about your brother". We'll he lives in China - so if you see an unfamiliar IP route, it's just him. Usually plays 24/7 actively, sometimes logged in from other computers. He only likes playing from level 1-60, not actually playing level 60 characters. After the character is 60 he will quit playing and only I'll be using the account. After that, my other brother will be doing a lot of PVP. He doesn't like to level but likes to rank up. He isn't a fan of having max rank, so once he is R14 I'll be the only one using the account as well and he will rank another one of his characters. He'll also be sending me large amounts of gold every few months from one of his other characters that he plays. He is a very generous brother. -
	...... Tremor totem ....
 -
The following need to be added: Shoulders: Fireguard Shoulders - BiS Cloak: Fireproof Cloak - BiS Trinket: Blazing Emblem - BiS Chest: Breastplate of Wrath - good base HP Gloves: Gauntlets of Might - good for FR + threat Legs: Emberweave Leggings - BiS Boots: Sabatons of Wrath Weapon: Thunderfury Dark Iron Reaver Dark Iron Destroyer Ebon Hand
 -
It works if you got a slow 2h. It is the only thing that makes 2H fury weapon speed dependent until you swap to Arms at 40. Which by that point will be ax specialization using WW ax. When fighting 2 mobs, do not use it, can't avoid getting pushbacks on the cast time. It speed things up slightly using slam but can take a mental drain on you quickly when grinding for lvls having to focus so hard to avoid pushbacks and time it after you get hit and not to delay auto attack timer. Rather just /sit and crit Drink some beer and repeat.
 -
Yeah I just hate if this happens I am NE. If I knew it was gonna change, would have been human, Tank Race nerf. But at least dodge is still good.
 -
Looking at the linked tank conversion numbers: Let's say I hit with my 1.9 second weapon for 250 on average. I'd get 3.8 rage, we drop the remainder so I get 3 rage a hit. That means I'd have to auto for 9.5 seconds to have enough rage for 1 Sunder armor. RIP.
 -
The threat will split to all mobs.
 -
His list includes AQ items already. Suggesting other items from AQ and same patch would be relevant.
