  1. Is there a way to do it? I don't know all of the technical differences when it comes to draw distance/render distance. What I'm looking for (in layman's terms) is to have the game render mountains/trees/hell anything further out. I hope this makes sense. So for instance, you will see what should be a mountain etc that shows up with a "fog of war" effect.. is there a way to enhance this?
  2. I've actually seen that before and for the amount of work that appears to go in, the changes seem quite subtle. Do you know if there is anything pertaining to draw/render specifically? EDIT: Upon second glance, can one simply copy and paste everything at once? Wait... I don't think we can alter game files like this for risk of ban.

    Questions on Tailoring

    I'm going to be rolling on the servers here soon, and will be the first to admit I'm at a complete loss of knowledge when it comes to professions. I am planning on utilizing the tailoring profession, along with first aid (these compete though don't they)? I will be an undead warlock. So my first question, if FA and tailoring compete should I focus on one more so than the other? For instance, FA seems nice in terms of limiting my downtime for obvious reasons (I can make my own "health potions") but I also don't want to fall behind in terms of tailoring. Second question, does tailoring make any money? If so, how and when does it generate income? For instance when I think of tailoring (again, very limited knowledge on the topic) I automatically think of bags that sell on the AH. Is this realistic? When would I be able to start making viable bags? What about bags I can actually use for myself while leveling? Third question, along with tailoring would it be smart to get a gathering (skinning) profession? I don't see myself as an enchanter and honestly have no desire for it. Fourth (sorry) question. Any go to guides people use? Thank you so much in advance.
  5. What I mean by that is the Joanas World vanilla leveling guide is pretty standard as far as your go to leveling guide. Its widely respected/accurate (as far as I can tell). Is there anything similar in regards to specific crafting guides? Step by step for those that are new?

    I know there has been quite an uproar lately about the "Chinese gold farmers" etc and people distaste for them. I was never a part of the original Nost so I'm not able to understand how much/if they flooded chat channels etc. My question is, was it really that much of a problem? Were you actually able to purchase gold from these individuals? How does that even work? I'm really hoping it isn't a major nuisance with the new server/re-launch.

    I agree but... everyone is making it sound so easy yet from posts I read on here and various other sites the player base is pissed because it was such an issue last time. As in if its so easy why is it always such a problem? While I get your query idea its also super generic and would even then cost a lot of man hours to find out who is really a farmer. I mean what are they basing it off of? A better place to start would be looking in global chat and see who spams, look into that account and if the findings are there perma-ban. But even then, these clowns work 12hrs a day times however many employees and will just make a new char. I'm sure they are very smart (transferring gold to an unknown mule every 100 gold or whatever so that if they DO get banned they only lose <100g etc). I mean there is no solution but it seems like its going to be quite the nuisance.

    You seem to really know you're stuff, being that I'll be a first time Warlock and vanilla player I'd really like more of your insight. Do you base your build/leveling off a guide or what? Have you actually used this addon? How exactly does it work. I'm unable to look it up (gaming related) while at work.

    Well yeah I know what their intentions are, so why wouldn't there be IP bans if found guilty (if you know) also how would the server ban buyers/how would they even know? Wouldn't a deal be made third party obviously? How would it be trackable?

  13. So I'm wanting a general required /played estimate. I've heard everything from about 6days played time to 12days played time... not that it matters just curious really. Also, what is the difference from time played to go 1-30 versus 30-60 if that makes sense. I thank you in advance.

  16. Man that is one compelling argument against warlocks. I'm stuck b/t these two classes as well but I'd say I'm about 80% leaning toward a lock verus 20% leaning towards a mage. I just don't want to roll mage if they are overly populated you know? I'd rather feel like a special flower than just another sheep. But we all know that water vendors are here to please

    If you're worried about population in the least take a look around. Elysium PvP in and of itself is literally spawning YouTube channels trying to capitalize on the vanilla hype around the launch of this server. This server is going to be bigger than the original Nost and we all know how big that was. Yes, more people will play on fresh start than the other two servers IMO. No, there will be no hint of "low population"

    Man I would love to do the same but is it really worth it? I mean there is going to be nothing to do but stand around and hope you get the first shot off on a mob that 100 other players are vying for you know what I mean? I'll surely log in during the initial launch and all.. but to take work off in the hopes of leveling seems like a waste to me personally what I mean by that is that I don't believe we'll have any ability to quest and level normally for quite a few weeks. I would hate to take time off work just to stand around frustrated you know?

  21. So I have never been present for a "launch" this server has more publicity and exposure than I ever recall for a legacy server, its going to be massive on all accounts in my opinion. So I'm really concerned with standing around and being able to do nothing, there are going to be potentially 50 others (insert race/class/spec) just like me standing around trying to kill X number of Y mobs. Now I know you can "group up" and make friends etc.. but this is honestly easier said than done in terms of available mobs/quest items to be found and right clicked relative to the number of players trying to complete said quests. So I guess what I'm getting at is... is anything going to be done to curb this? For instance in any starting zone you essentially need to kill 8 boars, 6 kobolds, and collect 6 red bandannas (for example). You are literally going to have anywhere from 30-100 people trying to do this exact quest (in a rough estimation of course). So is there anything that will be implemented to allow players to actually... play? Lessen the respawn rates? Allow players to "tag" mobs to more easily share credit? These are just off the top of the head. I'm super excited... but so are 10,000 other people. I feel like I'm going to log on and watch thousands of players run around but accomplish literally nothing. I hope this all makes sense. Thanks to all for reading/hopefully addressing.
  22. So I have very limited knowledge on "Ignite" I know its a mage ability or passive correct? I know I should be able to "look it up" but here at work virtually ALL WoW databases (vanilla wowdb, wowpedia, etc) are blocked behind a work firewall (deemed as "gaming related" content). So I was wanting a breakdown of what exactly Ignite is, more specifically when people state "rolling ignites" is it a passive or an ability you need to cast? My understanding is that it effects aggro potentially causing problems or...? Also, when does one switch over to a fire build in 1.12 raids? Don't you level up as frost (w/a bit of arcane mixed in) and then switch to fire only after a few tiers of raids etc? I thank you in advance.
