Fresh start server . Dedicated vanilla or PTE ?
Faith replied to papakoko's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
The fresh start server is a PvP server. There will also be the PvE and PvP servers that contain the the database's from Nostalrius's PvP and PvE servers. So those player accounts will exist on those realms. The fresh start, as it implies, will be a clean slate. I do not know what PTE is ? All servers are vanilla servers. Go to youtube and pull up the user Alexsensual. I am pretty sure he has a video discussing exactly what each server is and where it is patch level wise. ~Faith~ -
will special characters be allowed in names?
Faith replied to Crowley's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I personally don't like the use of special characters so agree with this Xykaru here ~ Faith ~ -
This is a good point. "Overhealing". It's very important to NOT overheal. I was a very good Priest healer in Vanilla and BC because I didn't OOM like all the other priests in my guild due to "overhealing". :)

The insanity of leveling on fresh
Faith replied to Xykaru's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
When you get on the fresh realm what you SHOULD do.. is focus on gathering. Ignore quests entirely in the beginning. Gather gather gather.. sell sell sell.. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ~ Faith ~ -
I play priest but.. yah in vanilla priest is the strongest (HPS). Druid is needed for the battle rez. ~ Faith ~

Naw.. there were people who just wanted to melee with a hunter. I can't tell you how many times I was in groups and saw hunters melee'ing or shooting arrows but there was no pet. I would say "Where is your pet?" They would always have some excuse.. oh I dismissed him because I was going to grab a new one then got party invite blah blah.. Or.. "I forgot to buy arrows." <-- my personal favorite -

Is warrior a good choice for a first time vanilla raider?
Faith replied to Lothbrok's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I had 3 level 60's before BC came out and I would say just level what you like. Usually it takes me around 20 levels of a class to really get a feel for "am I going to like this?". ~ Faith ~ -
I'm not. I am working on my own video game atm. However, it's a very long process. I'm still in the concept phase and doing a lot of UE4 learning. That is why I'm putting together a schedule for me at the end of December. What I'll be doing each day over my 16 days off in a row. ~ Faith ~

The Greatest list of Pros vs. Cons on what server to play.
Faith replied to Applesauce's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I totally get that but once again.. as I've said before.. Vanilla to me .. and MMO's to me are not about rading. They are about exploration and .. yes making your character more powerful. Which, unfortunately, means raiding to some degree.. but Raiding was not the primary aspect of vanilla. Most people didn't raid in Vanilla. It's unfortunate how wow turned out because IMO even people that play on these servers prioritize raiding FAR too much. Raiding is a bad end game mechanic. One of the greatest things about black desert is all of the end game paths you can do that have absolutely nothing to do with raiding. (some people call them simulators which is a bad analagy) What I like about MMO's is the open world aspect. I want to be able to run off into the wilderness and explore and craft and kill. Raiding ugh.. raiding is the downfall of any good mmo. -
I like Grinding Dragons for Black dragonscales.. I also enjoy Silithus grinding for .. you guessed it ENCRYPTED TWILIGHT TEXTS!!! ~ Faith ~

The Greatest list of Pros vs. Cons on what server to play.

Horrible loot tables?? That is not a con.. that is one of the things that make Vanilla great. Also quests were missing simply because they had not been implemented yet. I would hope that.. this would be patched as time went on to add them? If anyone of you ever played dungeons and dragons you don't get magical swords just handed out to you like candy. They are EXTREMELY rare. IMO loot tables in vanilla were too generous. ~ Faith ~ -
Will do.

Playing tank/healer while leveling?
Faith replied to MisterRay's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
You should just google "leveling a priest / druid / shaman healer in vanilla". There are a lot of good guides out there. Having said that leveling a healer isn't as bad as you think. Getting into groups as a healer, or tank for that matter, is very easy. Everyone will want you for their group. Best advice I can give is get yourself in a good guild that wants to level together. Group up with guildies and do quests together and dungeons together. Leveling will not only be fun but it will go by pretty quickly. If you solo as a healer just group up a lot up to around level 40. Then you will need to do some questing. Tanaris, STV, get yourself to 50 and then the fun begins!!! At this point BRD full clear runs are amazing xp. They can be frustrating as most players don't have the heart or stamina to full clear BRD. I do!! "FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!". Once you get to 53 .. LBRS .. 55 UBRS.... DUNGEONS DUNGEONS. You can also, if you get tired of that.. clear winterspring it's great for quests. Keep leveling your professions vendor all your greys and try to sell greens on the ah. It's all fun! That is why Vanilla is so much fun. You can plan.. ahead.. or just.. walk off into the wild and do your own thing. Don't rush yourself. Just enjoy the game. ~ Faith ~ -

Fresh Start or my lvl 40 UD? Help me.
Faith replied to darklordsauron's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Totally agree. Do both. Don't think you have to rush. One of the things i really don't like about retail wow and MMO's in generally is back in the day (yes I'm older) we didn't RUSH to max level and raid. There was no real raiding in vanilla.. to speak of. Not for a long time. People took their time to learn the game to level to make friends. That is what made the game fun... The journey.. Let me repeat that.. The JOURNEY... So don't feel you have to rush.. take your time enjoy the game. Make friends. Help others. This is the way good MMO's work. ~ Faith ~ -
I have and have had the vanilla client and right realmlist registered both times but neither time was able to connect to the stress test. First test i actually would connect to the server but then be automatically disconnected. After registering for the stress test is there some email confirmation sent to me ??? Perhaps it went in my trash folder? I clear that out regularly so it would be gone now. Issue remains.. Still couldn't connect to either stress test. ... repeat.. TARGET REMAINS TARGET REMAINS.. for stress test 3 i'll register and check my junk folder. I know the reamlist is fine. I've run other private servers no issue so I must be missing something or they just don't like me :P ~ Faith ~

This is actually very correct. Basilisks even turtles. Things that have scales and that you can skin will be an easy way to make money. Also beasts usually drop meat so you can cook that as well. So find mobs where you can get silver off the gray scales.. skin them for leather and cook the meat they drop. Basilisks , Raptors, even spiders can be good. White spider meat sells pretty well and the silk spiders drop is also very useful.
