So you jumped on Nostalrius and found out just how good Vanilla was? I'm very happy you did that. I was in wow right from the start. In fact my realm Doomhammer was one of the original beta servers.

I don't think you need to disable SLI. However, you'll just have to try it and see Easily controllable though so should not be a problem.
