What country are the gold spammers from?
Garun replied to Stilbo's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
There's a pretty big chance OP is just trolling with the ridiculous logic of blocking an entire country because of a few gold farmers from there. -

The sad part was that was the only new content in 6.1. -

I had a thread about removing LFR since their normal mode is about as hard as MC/Onyxia, which is by no means difficult but requires basic coordination and competence to clear. They downvoted it to oblivion and it was even removed. It will probably be even worse if it was about making all the gear except the gear that has the item level of the base heroic raid difficulty's drops blues instead of purples in order to make epic mean something again, they would really throw a hissy fit. -
group with Ratstick at your own risk [horde]
Garun replied to nerdz's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
You should always roll need on BoE rares/epics. I always do and if no one else but the guy who actually can equip it does and I win, I will trade it to him. There are douchebags that will roll need on BoE epics for gold even when a guy in the group actually needs it for his character. Edit: After seeing the screenshots, it looks like the loot rule was to roll need on BoE rares/epics since everyone but you rolled need on it. That lock is still a douchebag for needing on it since the hunter can actually equip it for an upgrade, and arguably the tank and healer were too, though agility at least does something useful for them when they are leveling. The loot rules still stand even if they favor douchebags. -
Could we get 59 twinks going on this server?
Garun replied to Bebban's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I always had the idea of doing MC with everyone at level 59. It is actually doable as most of the preraid BiS is equippable at level 59. -
I played on nost and though I knew what I was doing, I just felt inferior to other tanks because they already did the content and I want to be able to learn what I need to do before I tank the boss instead of learning as I go. Are there any recommended guides that I should look up that are specific to tanking the bosses? The general guides do help but they don't seem to give me enough.

roughly how much of a disadvantage will i be if i dont go human for fury endgame PVE.
Garun replied to wrathchild1971's topic in Warrior
I even chose a human for my alliance tank due to the bonus threat from the +5 swords. It's only like a 0.6% boost, but I decided in endgame that it's better than 1% dodge and stoneskin. Some alliance tanks will disagree with me though. -
Being told Druid Tanks are worthless (at least at End game)
Garun replied to Habskilla's topic in Classes
Honestly you are better off with a warrior if you really want to tank, but that's not to say that bear tanking is impossible. It might be difficult finding a guild that will let you tank as a feral druid though. -
Are there any plans at all to add Stitches to the game?
Garun replied to Crowley's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
That's a shame there's no Stiches -
Well shit, that's going to be a problem when I'm tanking.

Hey guys, am I too late to roll a warrior to be one of the core tanks? I've always wanted to be the first OT or higher for a raiding guild. I actually did MT half of MC on the first week of raiding and that was right before the announcement. The most relevant experience is MTing every raid but SwP on Excalibur WoW a year ago. I'm willing to push myself to be the best tank I can be. Hopefully I'm not too late to the party.
-
BwL is srs bzns and apparently people need to farm like it's Naxx.
-
I meant more of raid bosses. I can tank the 5 mans just fine, but I want to be optimal for tanking the raids.

I can't log in and I can't change the wtf folder when it's in the wow folder. I tried changing it by moving it, editing it, and moving it back, but it connects me to QA test realm 1.6 and immediately dcs me though my login is correct. My wtf is "set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org"

I guarantee that they were the MTs because of their skill/guild rank and not because they chose the best race. Tauren is hands-down the best tank race for horde, though for Alliance it's somewhat debateable between humans, dwarves, and night elves. If you are instantly stance dancing to zerker only long enough to use BR like you should, you will only be in zerker for 1.5 seconds and AT WORST take a crushing blow for near double the normal melee auto damage. Keep in mind that your MT can do it several seconds before the fear as BR lasts 10 seconds. Though to respond to the original post, just make your priest a dwarf.

Does Intercept have the same problem? It wouldn't make much of a difference to me as a tank if charge doesn't work, but it can be a serious problem if intercept doesn't work since that's my way of getting that add that goes after the healer or a caster.

I'd say as a guy that leveled a warrior on each nost server that it's far easier to level as 2H fury or arms and have a good 1H and shield in your bags (you might need to grind up weapon skill if your weapon skill is 50+ below it's max) as you can get away with tanking as fury in 5-mans without much trouble, though I recommend going prot when at level 58 and start grinding BRD for BiS gear if you plan on tanking. I started the gearing grind at 58 for my PvP warrior and 57 for my PvE warrior (though I wouldn't do 57 again). Heck, I would go prot when gearing up so you can tank even if you plan to go fury since tanking is a far better way to get gear, and you can roll on dps gear as a tank if you let them know beforehand.
-
Yes they can dps, but you will need to tank at least some of the time. When gearing up you find groups FAR EASIER if you are tanking and they don't even complain if you roll on dps gear, and for raids at least some of the fury warriors need to put on a sword and board (with actual tank gear) to OT a few fights since there are only 2 or 3 prot warriors in a 40-man raid. For the raid setting, you don't have to grind so much for tank gear as the scraps from the core tanks will be enough. The main problem with fury dps is not the dps numbers themselves, but the threat since you have no way of reseting/reducing it with your abilities.

I'm considering playing on this server and I'm wondering what class is in the most demand for raids. I had a prot warrior that I MTd with in a guild that started raiding the week before the shutdown. I also can't seem to find the token for it so I think I have to reroll. I might as well get an easy raid spot if I'm going to reroll.

What Class is in Demand for Raids
Garun replied to Garun's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
It's probably more like nost with healers/casters getting it easy while melee/tanks have to actually work for it if I had to guess, but I'm just making sure that it's true here as well. -
I do agree with you even as a guy who plays vanilla casually, there needs to be a feeling of achievement from downing bosses in MC. On nost, the only hard part about MC was getting 40 non-retards together for a few hours a couple times a week to actually do MC.
-
They are in the order you listed if you put AQ20 and ZG before/after Ony. I'm not sure about AQ20 since I never did it and some bosses in ZG might be a bit harder than Ony. I actually only did MC, ZG, and Ony on nost, but since BwL, AQ40, and Naxx are in the tiers and AQ40/Naxx have a reputation (especially Naxx) for being brutally difficult, they are in that order. UBRS isn't a real raid in the sense of difficulty but an overglorified level 60 5-man extended for 10 players.

What Class is in Demand for Raids
Garun replied to Garun's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I was a hero as a skilled tank but getting a raid spot was a different story. My only reliable option was to join a guild that was about to raid MC and even then there was no guarantee that guild would get anywhere.
