so What's the first thing you're gonna do when it's back online, guys?

As for me I plan to make a new toon on the PvE server and try and remember classic wow as never played on Nost and its been so so many years. Then while playing trying to decide if I'll stay on Nost PvE or go to the Fresh PvP server. I'm a PvE player and only really liked PvP in the BGs in classic although for sometime in classic I was on a pvp server but didn't enjoy the constant ganking and gank squads. On a note of mods, I thought they weren't being allowed or am I getting things mixed up on what was ban-able in my old age? If mods are allowed where would one find mods compatible with classic? -
Simple question.... why would your raiding ZG be more important then my killing Hogger? Is your fun more important then mine? We're both players trying to have fun and maybe the guy killing Hogger has done more for helping the server then someone who's raiding ZG? Now as far as real DC's I'm all for a 5 min relog time but it would need to be only the same character and level shouldn't matter. However if they have things setup to handle that making sure people aren't abusing it is another issue and I'd rather not have it open to the obvious abuses.

If there is no rule against sharing your account for security reasons with friend, family, kid, or wife then how is it wrong? Not much different then the no lifer who plays 18 hours a day 7 days a week while everyone else has to work, take care of kids, go to school (for you younguns), and such. Its like punishing people because they play to much, where to draw the line?

Nost/Elysium Weekly Reset Time
Syanis replied to Undertanker's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Can't forget that people need to get to the raids and get their raid gear and potions setup Servers need to be up at least an hour before raiding begins for it to not effect the raid. As an Oceanic player I'm also on the side of saying its time for NA players to see what its like dealing with what Oceanic players have had to deal with for 15+ years on every major game out there while we in the Oceanic and Aussie time have suffered while sadly NA players just laughed at us. -
Fresh server last makes absolutely no sense

The truth is very few who are interested in playing are likely reading the forums other then seeing if an official date has been released. Then even fewer are reading through topics such as this let alone the entire topic to see a strawpoll and then vote in it. -
Fresh server last makes absolutely no sense

For those complaining on both sides of the aisle here's the logic I see in the choice. I'll also mention I'm personally for a fresh release at the same time simply because that is where I want to be. Releasing Nost first and waiting on the fresh server isn't about making sure the fresh server is capable and bug free. Its instead about giving the old Nost servers time to recover as old Nost players will go there first because they have characters there and its open. Many old Nost players won't be returning surely and many guilds will be in disarray because lacking key raid roles and needing to replace and fill. A number of new players will go to the old server simply because its available telling themselves they will just swap when the fresh server comes out but in reality many will stay if they achieve any decent level and/or meet friends or a supportive Nost guild. This helps build Nosts population and fill in where Nost lost players. Releasing the fresh server at the same time would draw all the new players there for sure first off because they have a chance to be in the top while few will make it to the top as always. A fair amount of old Nost players will roll fresh as well unless they were solid in raiding already. Nost players who go back to Nost will see a loss already in lost Nost players who simply didn't return and then also those who went to the fresh server. Raid guilds would be in disarray and with fewer numbers and no fresh players those players would slowly over a couple of weeks leave or move to the fresh server. The old Nost would end up with a low population and a ghost town likely while the fresh server would be getting most of the players. I see it as sacrificing an extra month or two for new players who want to wait who haven't yet contributed and have already waited many years often in hopes of a real official classic server. What they get for that sacrifice is the old Nost players getting to have their servers back and repopulate throwing them a bone of sorts instead of setting them up for a sure failure of recovering their servers and progress. Yes it sucks majorly for us new players being put 2nd (well we are 2nd tbh and its a fitting place) and having to wait additional time for the benefit of the old servers and players. However we managed to go years w/o classic wow already while the old Nost players are the ones who are set up to lose everything should they not get a head start. Now personally I'd say the logical thing that also makes the most sense as far as sorting bugs and other issues would be just starting fresh for all. After all this isn't Nost anymore or even Valkyrie. Its pretty much a new wow classic server experience and after all in the end no one is actually owed anything. But then that is just my opinion also made by my own interests at heart because the truth is my enjoyment means far more to me then everyone else's but then isn't that normal way of thinking as we play for our own fun and not someone else's. -
Looking forward to the fresh server but really wish they released it at the same time. The only real reasoning I can see is satisfying old Nost players who don't want to start fresh and are hoping for time to rebuild their servers rather then everyone hopping on the fresh train, Its also likely a backup as many of the old Nost players will logon to find many of their friends gone, doing something w/o them, or talking about going fresh so those guys have a chance to see the old Nost isn't going to be so hot and be prepared for the day 1 jump to the fresh server. If not then likely a week after *all servers* went live together the Nost guys would be flipping and start complaining as they are already a week behind and many want to be 1st.

Secret would be doing a Tuesday launch date. Come weekend when the masses have lots of time a fair number will be past the newbie areas already and things will be a bit more spread out rather then 100% of people flooding newbie zones. The bonus is a Tuesday/weekday release would be beneficial to the old retired crowd veterans and disabled veterans. Now you do care about Veterans now don't you?....

I have to agree with a *fresh start* server. I have a bunch of friends and myself who only learned about it when it was to late to join in as most of us see private servers with very few people and more often cheat mode so most of us dismissed the idea of looking for a real wow classic server. Yet to join in starting fresh while others are already at the top puts fresh people at a big disadvantage. If one remembers even back in wow classic days and more so nowadays many guilds expect someone experienced in content and don't care on training. Plenty may not remember every fight and others may never have played wow classic. As far as people bailing after the first month I doubt it will be so big as some may think. Those looking to play wow classic know its difficulty compared to mmorpg's today and its slowness so they are prepared for that. Further at other games that tried *classic* servers such as EQ2 they were huge hits for months but the main complaints were that it was NOT a true classic experience and SoE then Daybreak had it set up as a cash shop for those wanting to get ahead who then pushed for expac after expac while the vast majority weren't really ready to move on.
