    Stress Test #2 — Results & Progress

"When players are densely packed together, such as in a starting zone, the lag grows exponentially in the zone. This situation is unique to launching a new realm and does not reflect the behaviors of 1+ month old realms where players are scattered all over Azeroth. In the end, there is no hardware in existence that can completely mitigate this particular form of lag." I don't think there's a need for such type of explanation or "excuse". Anyone who read your previous announcement knows that we should've spread better this time, but people were still staying in starting zones. World bosses didn't help much because we were amassed in certain areas again, such as Arathi Highlands, Desolace, etc. I'm a bit disappointed by the announcement of third stress test but what can you do. Hopefully the release date will be something like in a week after the third test. Thank you for everything you do.

First of all, this is the Priest section and you should edit your post in half. No normal guild will allow several wasted debuff slots for holy damage increase. Holy Fire on a raid boss, really? "If your guild allows multiple Ret Paladins" <- I don't even need to repond to this. Second, 300 dps with a decked out character that brings 0 utility is hilariously bad. If it's a guild that allows sub-optimal specs, that's okay. However, you and Killerduki make it seem as if people misunderstand retribution paladins and that they are actually viable, which in turn misguides new players and leads to frustration. I have no problem with players playing funny specs, I myself am playing a sub-optimal spec but pretending that it can actually do more than that is just wrong. Stop intruding topics with paladin stuff, thanks.

Stress test #2! Get in on it!

By the way, did anyone find Kazzak in Arathi Highlands? Between the rollbacks and spiders and raptors camping my corpse I couldn't find anything. Also, seemed like raid groups transformed into Ironforge raids for some reason.
  4. It's the grey stuff that gives the most gold from DM:E aside from the random green/blue/purple items, not the herbs. You'll be lucky if you get a stack of Dreamfoil in 50 runs.
  5. That's hardly an evidence. Some guy that doesn't know about the /camp command is all I see. I'm not bying it as non-blizzlike feature either.
  6. Yes, people didn't disperse properly. The world 'bosses' didn't help much either. At least I think that's why the heavy lags/rollbacks happened.

I think you're mistaking Smite's range with one of the mages' spells, I think Fireball has 41y range with the proper talents. The longest range of Smite, Holy Fire, Mind Blast is 36y with talents. And yes, Smite spam is really fun and it's good damage but you run out of mana really fast and you bring no utilty in PvE. In PvP it's like a machine gun though.

This test will be on the new hardware, and will be able to handle far more significant numbers. In order to participate in the stress test, you will need to sign up for an account here, the link for which will be provided in an announcement prior to the test. Please be aware that the anti-cheat system will be disabled for the stress test. Again, we cannot stress how important it is to show up for this event!"
  9. Same deal here. The only difference was, my screen said "Follow the white rabbit." WTF???
  10. Can't wait untill the forum gets overpopulated after launch and we get similar threads on daily basis, troll or not.
  11. I've been trying to find reliable source on spell coefficients in the past couple of days, mainly Priest ones, but I have failed so far. elitistjerks.com is down and the web archives do me little to no good in finding priests' spells information. The only thing I could find is this: http://wow.allakhazam.com/wiki/spell_coefficient_(wow) but the update on that page dates 2008-06-15 and I'm not sure how valid it is for vanilla. Can someone either tell me if the above coefficients are good for vanilla, or link me a good source for the spell formulae. Thanks.
  12. Or just use a device that's hooked on different network, a friend that doesn't play WoW's PC, PC at work? Are internet cafes still a thing around your place? Also, to players who are worrying about the IP restriction - according to this https://forum.elysium-project.org/index.php?showtopic=23367#entry245300 you'll be able to make 4 accounts from 1 IP. But that's not confirmed, it's just a post from the staff.

    Make it a great community!

Oh, absolutely. Rereading my post now may be I implied the server chat will be barbaric and ever-throwing up curses. Only The Barrens is on that level. And yes, with a population that big it's inevitable to have that. And Shayss may seem a bit mordant but he's on point almost all the time. People really should grow thicker skins and not being offended that easily.

    Make it a great community!

If those are your expectations, you're in for a ride. Yes, the public channels will be moderated but it's far away from 24/7. Best advice would be to grow a thicker skin and to "soft ignore" all the profanity while being in /world for example. You can't 'unmake' the internet. Pro-tip: avoid The Barrens if you're so feeble. If you actually manage to get over it, you'll find it more bearable or even enjoyable. I'm not a vulgar type of guy but I have to admit that some of those chats got me laughing on many occasions.

    Free Speech

/s, /party, /raid, /guild were unaffected by the language restriction back on Nostalrius. Or no one has reported me since I typed a lot on occasions in cyrrilic, especially in /s and in capital cities. So it's safe to assume General, Trade, Local/World Defense are being moderated. And for the people being bothered by world chat - just /leave world. But in the end of the day there will be plenty of the guys spamming n-words and genitalia in all channels. It's the internet after all.
  16. May be the guy didn't know about the /camp command? http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=21&mid=11682007128243207 http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/world-of-warcraft/world-of-warcraft-exploits/28557-fast-way-back-finished-instance.html <- crazy colors, be aware Those are the earliest sources of /camping out of an instance I could find. I doubt Blizzard changed this in TBC but who knows.
  17. But the thing you're making the thread about is answered in the announcements and the FAQ regarding Nostalrius revival. Those are the things every player that's new or coming back should read first. Sadly, everyone takes forums as an IRC channel - they pop in and start asking questions that are in the main pinned threads.
  18. It felt like the grey items drop was decreased but no patch note said so as far as I know. It was either hidden change or bad RNG on drops.

    The "Nostalrius" realm - questions

Everything you need to know is on the main page news section or in the announcement section of the forums. No gender, race, faction or appearance changes will be possible.

    Vanilla client keeps freezing

On Feenix the same problem occured mostly in Naxxramas due to viewing distance even on 1000 fps configurations. I have no idea if the problem lies in their client, their code, the Naxxramas instance on it's own or it's something that's in the basic vanilla client. Ever since that I raid with viewing distance set to the minimum. You should mess around with your viewing distance and see if there's any difference.

AddOn Request - Auto Remove Pally Bubble

Got that from Feenix' forums since I was looking for similar thing. Gonna try it soon. PS: Didn't see you want it automatically and/or immediatelly removed. Still, a good info.

    Do you dare to tell?!

I have power everywhere as I'm level 33 Mason Discipline spec and the only thing that has power over me is this: Coincidence with the triangle? I think not.

Healing Focus is a must on some fights in raids/dungeons and it's quite useful outside as well. Res' healing build is pretty much the standart. Improved Renew is not boosting your Renew that much but some people prefer it with going 3/3 Improved Renew and 3/5 Holy Specialization. I guess with AQ patch and obtaining Renew Rank 10 via AQ20 book it'll be more useful. Boils down to personal preference and mainly if you're one of the priests in your guild with most +healing that usually gets asigned to keep renew up. Also, some guilds' Priest crews tend to run just 1 or 2 priests with Divine Spirit but this is small beer.

    Playing tank/healer while leveling?

If you happen to roll a healing class, don't worry about healing in dps spec up to level 58 when you are eligible for all the end game 5man instances and it'll be thoughtful if you respec Holy/Restoration. Just make sure you have different ranks of heal spells hotkeyed and play around them. As Priest Heal Rank 1, Rank 2 and Heal max rank for the current level are your most efficient heal spells aside from Greater Heal but that costs too much mana for the little mana pool you'll have. That's how priests work, I'm pretty sure other healing classes won't differ in that matter too much. I can go on with Priest mana efficiency if you happen to roll Priest and need some tips. I leveled a warrior up to level 34 and I didn't have any problem tanking low level 5mans as mix of fury/arms spec, no clue if it changes much untill you hit 60.
