Oh I completely agree. That's going to be my mindset, get a couple levels then go grind somewhere, where you can easily farm over and over again. Yes, it will be a bit mindless, but if you prepare yourself, get yourself food/drink etc.. in game and out of game, you will do just fine and outlevel a good majority then can start picking up quests etc..

Are you kidding me right now? Warriors have intercept for that very reason.. You don't even get intercept in the "fixed" version of wow, you can charge all day and night if you feel like it. Hell, even 2x in a fight /s You won't get killed if you know what you are doing and use your CD's wisely. Mages are some of the squishiest out there, you can't tell me that every warrior automatically dies to mages. That's insane thinking and reasoning. "Toning down" wow for the masses is what caused us to have people running around with a million gold, and full heirloom gear and not talking to anyone because of random dungeon finder and LFR because people couldn't get groups together because they didn't want to join a guild. That's what's wrong with WoW today. The way you "remaster" WoW, is by polishing up and fixing all the scripts, lag, bugs, etc.. and that's how you do Vanilla WoW remastered.

You dont think the human racials are worth it? that rep gain though is nice. Kind of a downer that Alliance doesn't have any decent racials for PVP, although the perception trait is nice. I always went arms leveling because I felt it was faster because of the non spikiness that was fury. Lots of people say fury to 40 is faster then switch to arms at 40 for Mortal Strike and so on..

I am ready.. I love warrior pvp montages.. even though pebbleform is not god.

Also just a heads up, the server is currently down while they work on merging the cores. So you won't be able to log in and play on Elysium right away.

@Hakoon, I get where you are coming from when you say you wish the old data would not be split. A lot of people are thinking that in regards to server population (which btw they hype is even more so now since its coming back) will not truly diminish. Those who want to stay with their already geared toons, will, and there will be plenty of people rolling on the established old data servers as well because they do not want to deal with the BS of a new server, everyone tagging everything and not being able to kill or do anything at all for the first few weeks. So if the old established server is up and running as well, some people will want to roll there and have a better quality of life then having to fight 1500 people trying to get the same mobs

Vanilla Guide addon adds for both sides, Joanna's for horde and Brian Kopp's for alliance. It's pretty straight forward and gives you options to hotkey next/previous step buttons so you don't have to click the next button.

Most if not all of the addons should work no matter what server you are on for 1.12.1 as long as the addon reads properly the correct version of the game. Other than that though, should be fine. I switched from Elys to K2 with same addons, no issues, just change the realmlist file

Yeah I ran on Elysium just temporarily to check the lag and I'm east coast USA, had about 130ms during the day, so not too bad

FINALLY, someone with understanding and knowledge on the subject. Thanks Pottu for delivering a clear and concise statement on the subject. He's right though, Kronos was a terrible launch because its run by people who want to make money off a market that is desperately wanting a stable place to play. Right now its probably the closet thing to Nost we have at the moment and this launch is going to be 10x better than Kronos because Nost already knows how to handle such a large population.

More than likely they are going to designate the nost accounts somehow, like accountname_n or something like that. I have seen it happen before with other DB's being merged on a server. But more than likely, the announcement this weekend + stress test (I believe is also happening) will give us more answers on how to go once it goes live.

The reason for the freezing is to make sure that everything stays as close to what you had on Elysium when the nost information is transferred and merged. Basically, its just like the nost DB coming from before the announcement of the shutdown.

But wasn't Elysium hosted at same IP as Nost in France?

This is the way it was in Vanilla, BEFORE it was toned down for the masses who thought it was unfair. They aren't going to change and "tone down" skills to make it fair for the people who can't handle the pvp. That's the whole point of the vanilla experience, to go back to when it was fun and it required skill and things were not handed to you on a silver platter. Also, Shagu.org has some built for the legacy community addons. Really enjoy his overhaul and ShaguQuest+Cartographer imo are much better than questie. But yes to the Vanilla Guide addon, works for both horde and alliance

Yea it happened to me sometimes when I was posting quickly about questions people had in game before the server went down.

Yeah MoP is when it introduced the return feature.

This spell never had a return feature in Vanilla. It was always a one way teleport to Moonglade. There is a flight path for both horde and alliance so you can fly back to a city. Rut'Therian village for night elves and Thunder Bluff for Tauren

If you created your character BEFORE the announcement on 11/6/2016 - November 6th, 2016, then you are safe and whatever progress you made will stay. If you created it AFTER the announcement on November 6th, 2016, then no, your toon will not be saved.

Well right now the server should be down while they work on the core to bring Nost information over. However, you can, download any WoW Client, i.E from Kronos, Nostalrius, Elysium directly etc.. and all you have to do is just change the realmlist.wtf file to redirect to the host that they give us and there you go! It's really not that hard of a concept to understand. It says on the scroll in game that the characters are frozen. Plus its EVERYWHERE you look when reading about Nost information. If they still can't find it after leading the horse to water, then that's all you can do. You can lead a horse to water, but its up to them to drink it.
