  1. Yes, I was active on these forums before Anathema released (even though I didn't post much, but I read them almost everyday), but that kind of argument does not guarantee what you're trying to say. Do you think that all of the players who wanted a fresh realm would have not played at all in the case that they were not going to open a fresh realm? I'm not saying that all of the people who preferred a new realm over the existing one would have played anyway, but there is for sure a good chunk that would just deal with it and play on Anathema rather than not playing at all. Either way, by releasing Anathema first they achieved what they wanted to do: the veterans who had characters there stayed and did not re-roll on the fresh realm, just like you said. There's only one, obvious problem that they have not taken into account properly. All the new players will obviously rather start on Elysium than on Anathema, and I don't even think we need to explain why does this happen. This means that Anathema got no fresh blood since the release of Elysium, because almost every new player would rather choose the fresher realm over an older one. Now, just imagine the scenario where the staff actually decided to never release Elysium, and only have the old Nost PvP/PvE realms active. I'm not going to deny that a lot of players would have complained a lot about it, but do you really think that it would stop everyone, including the fresh blood, from rolling on Anathema? And by the way, thank you for replying like that. It was much better compared to how you replied previously.
  2. Everyone knows why people play on the most recent server. If Elysium wouldn't have been released, Anathema would have the same population they currently have, more or less. And no, if you actually bothered to read what I've said multiple times, you would know that I just don't feel like re-rolling when all the effort I've put could be saved. Have you even tried reading all the topics regarding this issue since the last 2 months? I'm not the first one bothered by this issue, there have been plenty of players before me. The same shit happened with Zeth'Kur aswell. And yet, you're talking talking to me as if I'm the first player bringing this up. If you're gonna be so annoying why don't you go and bother every single player who, just like me, wish to have some kind of solution about this?
  3. Levelling to 60 =/= Levelling to 60 and get all your reputations, consumables, gold and gear to a decent level. On multiple characters. Apologies if some people don't really bother wasting hundreds of days of /played. But you're also the typical Elysium player who does not really care and on top of that tries to push against anything in favor for everyone else outside of their own realm.
  4. I don't really care if that is true or not, the only thing that really matters is to make the staff realize some things. Also why am I the only one you're referring to when the forums are literally filled with people making these threads and trying to have a proper discussion? If you're gonna be like that at least be fair and use plural instead of pointing fingers to single individuals. Or even better, just stay away from issue that don't even concern you, typical Elysium player.
  5. Hey guys! You heard the man: According to him if we stick to threads that already exist (this if the first I found) we can probably have a discussion here, let's put it to the test. Are you really monitoring the population of all servers? Then I suppose we can both agree that Anathema IS a ghost town (yes, Darrowshire too), right? I mean, right now peak times barely reach 1.5k while most of the times we don't even have 1k pop. Also, it's quite disappointing to see this: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/298553596453191680/348066486113533952/image.jpg "The worry that one realm will be a ghost town is entirely groundless". Oh really? How would you describe Anathema now then? I'm curious. I had no idea about the existence of this comment until now. To stay on topic: according to the GM that posted in this thread, most of the staff have their mains on Anathema or Darrowshire. I'm starting to think that it's either false or you have all already re-rolled to Elysium. There is no way you could find those 2 servers enjoyable right now. But let's be honest, you will probably just lock this thread now cause I'm trying to discuss the truth and apparently you don't like it. I'll start looking for the next thread that talks about this and be ready to reply there I suppose. EDIT: I just remembered one of the topics being closed by Hudson because: So, which one is it? Are you closing threads because we don't stick to the current ones or because "it is just pointless complaining and bickering"?
  6. It would actually make me continue playing though, and I've heard the same about so many other Anathema players that are currently unsure about what to do (to play or not to play?). It might not have an immediate effect, but it would help. On top of that, you're making it look like I'm expecting them to have a core and demand from them to announce TBC, while I clearly said that I'm simply confused by all these silly teasers, and I'd be totally fine if they just completely crushed the hopes of everyone by saying "NO, we're not developing TBC and we have no intention to". I just want to know, how is this hard to understand?
  7. I totally agree, but it seems like someone else doesn't considering that almost all threads about this topic have been locked. I suppose they don't really share our meaning of "fairly reasonable". EDIT: Either way, I think it's pretty pointless to argue about whether one solution would be viable or not. It's pretty clear that they haven't liked any of the proposed solution and just went with "let's leave things as they are", which is probably not even the worst option among them all. At this point it's more worrisome to just see them close all these threads like this, preventing the players that want to share their opinion to discuss it.
  8. If they allow transfers from Elysium to Anathema TBC, it's clear that we're saying goodbye to Elysium. The issues will only rise in the case Anathema turns into a TBC realm and they don't let the Elysium community transfer there, I kinda expect them to just complain about how unfair it would be.
  9. As much as I would like a transfer or a merge, I can see this being the only outcome. If that is the case though, then I would love to see it written right from them so I can move on and completely abandon this project, since I have the bad habit to hope for the best and thus end up wasting my time on something hopeless like this. On top of that, there's all these silly teasers we have seen around about TBC, which would also be a solution to the problem in the case they are implementing it. Just stating that there are plans for it would help the issue greatly. If that happens to not be the case, then please at least make it official. Being left in the dark with no idea what's going on behind the scenes is painful, especially when it's what is keeping me from completely leaving. And no, even though I am not happy with the current situation of Anathema and Darrowshire, I will not re-roll on Elysium. I couldn't care less to throw away 220+ days of played on Anathema just to move on their golden child server (and before you judge me for not wanting to lose my progress, I don't mind losing it because Blizzard shuts this down or in the case I'm completely done with the content, since the timpe spent served it's purpose. The problem is that it is not the case yet). Reading the suggestion "Just re-roll on Elysium" simply hurts every single time. If I will ever do that, it's going to be on Crestfall.
  10. Pretty much this. There were some suggestions around this problem, like speeding up Elysium and then merging, or completely freeze Anathema progression and wait for the 2 servers to be at the same patch and then merge. Or even allow transfers now and remove all gear that cannot be obtained on Elysium from Anathema characters (or even just disable it). They simply consider these solutions not viable (while they are perfectly viable), which led to the unofficial (they did not say it, but I feel like it's what they decided) decision of letting it die, and use the Anathema community one last time by testing Naxxramas for them.
  11. Apparently, opening threads regarding this issue has been marked as taboo by the staff and it's something they don't want us to talk about (which is exactly what Blizzard does when someone tries to talk about Legacy Servers outside of the designed thread. You think you do but you don't?). If you go around the forum and look for similar threads, you will find very vague replies where they either say that we don't need threads like these all the time or that we're just complaining without offering any real solution to this (which does not mean you should close these threads to prevent players from discussing the problem). According to them, they're already doing everything in their power for the sake of Anathema by running a Naxxramas PTR in order to release it as soon as possible, thinking that it will bring back players while it won't make a difference at all. Personally, I feel like we will need a solution at some point, but it's not something we need right now: the only thing we really need is them to stop covering their eyes and look at reality. The real problem is their stubborness
  12. Does that mean you also locked the topic named "Server cap or Server merge" in the suggestions section because all of the suggested solutions in there were not viable?
  13. @arucado, maybe merging the servers now is not an option, but that is exactly why people have tried looking for different solutions, like freezing Anathema's progress until Elysium catches up and then merge. I'm not going to list them all as this is not the main point of this topic. The playerbase doesn't want to play anymore? Maybe that's the case for a few of them, but a very good part of the players that stopped playing on Anathema either rerolled on elysium or just stopped playing until any kind of action by the staff. As most people said already, rerolling is not a fix to the issue (and in my case I don't even consider it an option). Also, I can't disagree if you say "you can't merge those 2 servers cause different timeline". Sure, right now that's 100% true and it's a fact. But please, don't say that merging servers has no point cause these servers are gonna die anyway. Why would we even start playing on these servers or make them in the first place then? But staying on topic, I'm glad you agree that closing/deleting these threads is not a good move (at least not the ones whose purpose is not to complain but to have a proper discussion).
  14. If you bothered to read what was said, you would know that we're already aware of the current issues and that's not the main concern of this thread. I find it really hard to believe that asking for more insight about the overall problem makes me a jerk that only wants to complain.
  15. There could be some more things to say, but in general the OP said what needed to be said. The fact that more people start more and more threads about this problem clearly indicates that there is a problem. According to some people, it's because of these threads that the issue is growing bigger and bigger, while in reality it's those kind of replies ("we don't need more threads like these, so shut up") that does the job. By saying that, to me it only means that you're trying to make everyone be silent about the problem and hope that everybody forgets about it. Instead, if you could let us know what is going on through your mind, I think that most of us would feel more at ease. I know we have received some replies 1 or 2 months ago about the very same problem, but do you really still think the same things you said back then? I find it hard to believe that you have not changed your minds not even slightly about all of this.

    Realm to Realm transfer

Just wait some more and eventually they'll make it happen.

    TBC

Sabre, go back to page 3 or 4, there you will find a post where I mention this. The game that I love is vanilla. TBC was okay, but seeing the content there is not as important as it was seeing vanilla content. I will do everything in my power to clear all the vanilla raids, but I don't feel the same about TBC raids. Will I play there if I can transfer my character? Sure, why not, but otherwise I'll gladly focus on something else. Am I really that bad of a person because I like vanilla more than TBC? Also, it's funny how you are accusing me of being the flamer here while I am actually the one trying to hold a discussion in a civil way, while Sabre at some point just turned his troll mode on and you're saying literally something that I can't understand. No, I won't go to TBC servers cause if you actually bothered to read my posts, you would know that TBC is not my priority, which is exactly why I said "If I can't transfer my characters, I won't play. I don't find TBC appealing as much as Vanilla.

    TBC

I have no idea why you started trolling so badly after trying to hold a discussion in a civil manner. And I thought we were talking about MMOs here? Why are you mentioning a shitty single player game?

    TBC

I can't see why would I ever play on such a server, and I also doubt that his sentence translated into that.

    TBC

It's pretty clear that after stating such an abomination of a sentence, we don't need to continue our discussion. Have a good day.

    TBC

I'm sorry but what you wrote is unintelligible. I have no clue what you're trying to say.

    TBC

Could you maybe explain why being a casual player is relevant here, since according to you casual players shouldn't play on private servers even though it's literally FULL of them?

And a transfer option would be appreciated for those who do not enjoy or don't have time to start from level 1 over and over. I would be completely fine with 2 servers where 1 gives the option to transfer your characters and the other one does not, even though I don't understand your reasoning behind why a fresh option would be appreciated. Aren't you allowed to start from level 1 either way even if you don't like your current class? Not to mentiont that if they announce TBC beforehand, you can just start levelling before it gets released. Unless you want to play the class you have in mind as a draenei or a blood elf, the only reason I can see to ask for a fresh option is "I want everyone else to start from zero with me otherwise they have advantages!". I also don't understand what does your first statement mean. Yes, my guild would go on even without me since 1 player does not matter in the guild, it's the whole group that does. So what? If I would not have been able to recover my characters from Nostalrius I wouldn't even be here at all, because I do not care to start over everytime. I fail to see what that has to do with the fact that people asked the staff to not give us our characters back out of pure selfishness, what's your point?

    Server Cap or Merge Servers

@Shiamorah, according to this guy you have been wrong all along: Darrowshire is completely fine! Shall we leave it as it is and focus on Anathema then? On a more serious note... You do not speak for the whole realm. 2k on weekends might be healthy and populated for you, but it's most likely not the case for most people, see @dequecojonesvais, also a Darrowshire player.

    TBC

No but you clearly don't understand man... this guy does not care about his characters, so why should the project even care about the transfers? I mean... he does not care about his characters! Why would we even think about letting people transfer when he himself does not want it? I mean let's be real, why would anyone get what they want when that is what he doesn't want? This is not the first time I've seen a thing like this: "I don't like this, which means no should get it even if they like it!". When Anathema relaunched it was full of selfish kids begging the staff to not give us our characters back because they wanted the game their way. Not only they were getting their very new realm Elysium, but they were also asking to simply not release Anathema in order to make Elysium more populated than it already is. Moral of the story -> I don't care about what you want, so I'll push for whatever that benefits me in any possible way, no matter how much it hurts everyone else!
