Am I the only one who goes Disc instead of holy first after Spirit tap? I mainly do it for mana conservation, Inner focus is nice to prolong the out of casting mana regen and then you have meditation while casting. Haven't done the math, so I don't know how much mana you save, so maybe it's not worth it. Since I usually level with friends so we can go on without any breaks and do dungeons as easily as possible. Would look like this at 39: (Sometimes I go all out disc and just go down to grab Divine Spirit)

Wow, that's very specific. I don't know how to do that. And now I want to find out, too! Closest thing I can think of is /train which emotes without text, but that doesn't help with your problem.

Also, don't be afraid to ask people to group up, most classes would LOVE to do quests with someone that can heal, remember, it only costs 0 mana to drop shadowform for all you shadowpriests Warriors especially love priests, since they also have a hard time levelling alone, but together you're an unstoppable force! One of the biggest mistakes you can make as a levelling priest is to be too shy, ask in general chat, look up what people are around your level and see if you can group up to do some quests together! I know you feel silly sometimes, but chances are you make someones day while getting through some content faster!

The Paladin discussions are bad enough on their dedicated sub-forum, and while disc is the most optimal spec for maximising raid DPS it is because of buffing other DPS, not actually doing DPS as a priest, that being said everyone is free to try whatever they feel like... BUT Saying Smite priests works well with multiple Retribution paladins is like saying a hunter can tank a boss with his pet if all the Paladins spam lay on hands on it and all the DPS:ers are feral druids and shadow priests so they don't over-aggro. It is technically true but it's really not grounded in anything realistic that you would encounter while playing vanilla. Also, there is no point in getting upset and trying to threaten each other, if there's a post you disagree with point out the flaws or just ignore it, no point in getting all personal. Ret Paladins have always been a energetic and zany bunch and will probably always be, so it's better to just leave them be, and hopefully they will stay in their dedicated threads. The OP wanted to know what disc priest were like on vanilla, people answered in the first few post, now it's just turning into a brawl.

I read "The Red Room" and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" this summer, But I have found another book that I can recommend to some people:

You're exactly right, there might be some holy grail of the perfect formula to calculate what gear is the best, but I haven't seen it. This is not a perfect tool, but it's roughly correct, as a helpful tool for people who are new to the hunter class it can be a good guideline for people who and don't want to post in guild chat asking which item is best every time they find something shiny. Would love it if someone came up with something better and posted it!

Like others have said, there is not really a "disc" priest in vanilla, there is either the standard healing build or a Power Infusion build when you have content on farm to boost raid DPS. To give you a better picture Here's how the different specs can look like, as you can see you spec heavily into both discipline and holy tree for both specs. Standard Healing build (Some people switch around some talents, but nothing major): And this is a Power Infusion Build (again, you can switch around some talents): The only difference is with "Disc" (People mostly call it "specced into power infusion") you will do less raw healing, have some extra mana, and being able to cast Power Infusion. The Disc tree provides a lot of helpful things for PVP, like improved mana burn, which is really good against mana users, but you could get that with just your standard healing build, just switching out some of the disc tree points.

What encouraging words do you have to say to people who haven't made the switch to 2.0+ yet, why should I give up the stable version I'm used to and re tweak all my settings (other than the reason you stated in the OP)? Sell it to me and the other stubborn people! Also what are the differences/advantages between using MobHealth3 over MobInfo2? Keep up the good work, you make playing 1.12 a bit more enjoyable!

What kind of Role-playing happened on Nostalrius? Just curious since I played from day 1 and never really encountered any, but I did check out the role-playing sub-forum a few times and people were posting on a pretty regular basis there. Was is mainly planned RP like for example dwarven mountaineers hanging out doing some event together, or was there a lot of spontaneous roleplay? I guess I didn't venture out from the comfort of Ironforge often enough to experience it!

No, you need the reputation, Pottu! The Priest BiS list thread was always a mess on the other forum (Who would want to look through all those pages to find some relevant information when they could just look at the spreadsheet for the easy guide), this thread always had some useful discussion in it though, some "important" information was omitted in my post and was available in the comments, maybe we should compile it into one post, this is assuming everything works like it did. I'll look into it (The Item list and this guide) but if someone else beats me to it they can make the new topics instead.
