Nope, like others have said, I'm close to the server, not in America, I have 15ms connection ping. The lag is awful when busy. Everyone moans about it in game. It is an issue, the devs are aware, but they refuse to acknowledge it or do anything about it.

The servers evidently cannot handle the 8K pop, at 6K it's absolutely fine but over 6.5/7 and it gets laggy. The connection speed is fine, it's always on 15ms on my game regardless of the lag, so it must be server side. I'm getting sick of being in a BG and the melee characters on both sides just give up and stand there because we cannot actually hit each other when moving. I would much prefer to sit in a queue for 15 minutes than have the awful lag. Or the staff could just try and get more money to upgrade the hardware but they don't seem to like taking money. I think maybe because if they try making more money then it could be seen as profiting from the game and that could cause legal issues?

I find this issue with Horde, I have a level 29 character, I've finished Thousand Needles but am stuck for leveling. But that's only because I want to level exclusively through Kalimdor. Otherwise I would go to arathi/hillsbrad.

I mean more viable in raids. They were VERY strong in Cataclysm, I was regularly top dps in heroic 25 mans in the Deathwing raid. Especially in crowded fights, you could put MF&IS on every mob and do insane numbers. Although I could still beat Mages in pure damage output against single target. I don't know how they are in the current game as I quit when Cataclysm ended, but when I left the game they were very strong. In vanilla I am aware they are supposedly not viable. I really enjoy playing it though. You are quite right there is more thought involved with which spells you use. I only wish IS was in vanilla.

Have you heard of the /ignore feature in the game? It is quite useful. If I encounter someone I so strongly dislike I just /ignore and I'll never knowingly interact with them again. Then I don't have to go back to being 11 years old and whining on an internet forum about how much I hate some foul person who annoyed me this one time.

^ well it may be fine for the people on there but no one can join because the only players are max level. so yes in my eyes it is "dead" because the population can only decrease. that being said if the people at max level are enjoying it and able to continue raiding with their guilds I see no reason to shut it down tbh. apart from to save money

Vanilla wowwiki is pretty useless, most of its information is out of date (or rather, it's not out of date) so really can't be trusted. I can't begin to list the number of times I've gone to look something up and its given me newer information than vanilla. Most of its content is just stuff copied and pasted from a newer version, slightly modified and some newer stuff removed.

To be fair to them, there is not a lot they can do to solve the issue. The only solution is to transfer Anathema's characters to Elysium, but I believe those characters are further ahead so have better gear which makes it unfair on the existing Elysium players. Otherwise, it's just a matter of waiting. Some of the players will reroll on Elysium, (the same way I did when Zeth'Kur got shut down) but many will just leave. But yes both Anathema and Darrowshire are virtually dead. It is inevitable, with this kind of server. Bear in mind that it had been going for 2 years (with break in the middle), really not a bad run. It only died at this point because Elysium built two fresh servers.

I love balance druid, I'm not 60 yet, long way to go but I am enjoying the vanilla version of the class, even if the cata+ version is superior. It's fun, challenging, you have to be careful with how you use your mana and actually strategise your gameplay. It's surprisingly potent in PVP and I am consistently doing the highest damage in dungeons / groups. Also, being able to CC and damage someone at the same time is great. I don't think any other class has that? People always come up to me and ask "Are you seriously a balance druid?" things like that. Yes I am, because I enjoy it. Play the class you enjoy... simple as that. Despite what high end elitist players will tell you, for the vast majority of people no class will be useless.

These "issues" with hybrid classes are quite deliberate. The whole point of Paladins/Druids/Shamans is that they are not the best at any role, but they can fulfil any role. If say a Druid was every bit as good as the best classes for mdps, rdps, tanking, and healing, then everyone would just play a druid. That's the point of a hybrid - it's not as good at either role but it can do everything.

I'm not talking about all gankers, but the poster you replied to was talking about roleplaying and you seemed like you had never heard of it... I agree it's completely pathetic, not saying I believe any gankers are roleplaying but its what the other poster said.

Both sides have plenty of players, if there are fewer on Alliance then I haven't noticed. I am levelling characters on both. It is very easy to get groups, I personally have found it marginally easier on Alliance as people have been friendlier but that's probably just a coincidence. In battlegrounds at least the ones below 60, it's pretty even and your luck will just rely on how many twinks happened to queue.

I don't think it is, I think it's only if one side has enough players and the other doesn't. If both teams are below the threshold then the team with the most flags will win.

How is it a problem to fix genuine bugs and errors in the game? Especially exploits i.e. bugs that give you an advantage in playing.

I have a toon on zeth'kur who I left a couple months ago to reroll on elysium, as zeth'kur was dead. Then I heard about the transfer process where zeth'kur characters were getting moved to elysium on june 21, OK cool i can start playing the toon again on elysium. but I think I must have misread something because I just looked and apparently all the characters were moved to Anathema/Nostalrius... where I already have a character with the same name. and now the character seems to be stuck on zeth'kur. Is there any way of getting him back? :( I could have sworn I read that the characters were moving to elysium.

Yes, the game is way better than the later expansions. Zeth'Kur started with a great population, always 6K online for first month, but 4 months later and it is dead. I don't think Elysium will go like that though. It's a shame they split the community over 4 servers though.

Zeth'kur feels plenty busy. It's still much more populated than original realms were so it's not like it is empty.

Pretty sure this is normal and how it was in vanilla. Maybe not all but at least most.
