Ya make sure the realmlist is actually saving what you enter. (right click on wow.exe and set to operate as administrator) Also throw away the WTF and WDB folders if you're using Kronos data.

Atlasloot can mess with what you see as well. But are you saying if you literally disable any addon, or a particular addon? I'm sure you could sort through this and find which particular addon(s) are the culprit.

that is true. overall chat has been affected in strange ways after .wr was implemented and possibly after realm name change.

ok. so i think it safe to say its serverside and can't be affected client side no matter what, but why it only afflicts some people, who knows? The getting naked bug only affected people that signed on at a certain time. The sending bad data to your config file making it imposible to sign on- only got to some few people. I read it before on other servers recently, and the only thing that helped some people was re installing the game, which didn't work for Thanum. I haven't seen any other solution as of yet.

Did it start after the realm name change? or did it also happen before that?

Oh ok, thats what those character indexing lines must refer too. I don't think changing the config is gonna help in that case, but we tried. sorry : (

Save the old setting, then we both need to delete your file because it has your account name in it. Try this smaller file. Its gonna mess up yer fancy monitor settings, but you can fix that in game. Nah, the .wr on command makes no one be able to whisper you, but guildies and friends. It doesn't remove your ability to use chat channels. use .wr off to allow anyone to whisper you. I'm sure you've all tried leaving all the channels and re-entering them both by name and number?

Weird how this is popping up. Im not aware of anything that could be written to the config.wtf file to affect chat, but can one of you post your confg.wtf file's contents.

you know what, I'd be interested in seeing someone's config.wtf file's contents with chat issues. this chat issue seems to coincide with the DC issue where something is being written to the config file.

that's a little different than Thanum's issue. try those things i suggested up top in thread.

also, there is a function to toggle whispers on and off. .wr on will filter whspers so only friends and guldies can whisper you .wr off will allow anyone to whisper you toggle this back and forth so you can see how its set.

pretty sure it's at level 10. Although some people are reporting problems after that.

I had noted this workaround in another thread and wondered why we dont just throw away the WTF. I didn't realize you were getting to the point where you got the new WTF and it was writing this bad data for you. good to know.

If you had thrown away the wtf folder, it would have written it fresh.

you altered the config.wtf? you weren't even supposed to have that to alter. ha.

yeah you know sometimes when serverload is heavy, it sends ya to DC.

well, you could still access the same account. so that would be fine.

You know there was something else too, that was an issue, probably still is. That was if your password was too long, like over 15 characters, you could never sign on.
