what..no don't rename the files. realmlist.wtf needs to be called realmlist.wtf. config.wtf is called config.wtf. Just throw away the whole WTF folder. alls ya need is the realmlist.wtf with only this written inside of it: set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org A new, clean WTF folder will be generated for you when you login. By the way, you did create a game account...right?

Make sure you are operating as administrator. Right click wow.exe and set to administrator. Make sure you are launching from wow.exe and not any launcher if you have one. If the wow folder is in program files, move it out of there. Does your realmlist.wtf say: set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org ? if not, use notepad to write that in there. If it already did, you can try using the IP address instead: set realmlist 164.132.233.125 and Pottu's post about DirectX

Heres the thing...giving someone a long swim to me is fine. Holding MC through phasing to wait and see if the person gets bugged out, is not fine. Using the spell is fine, MCing someone anywhere is fine. Purposefully putting someone out of the game..I can't fathom why anyone would think that is ok.

Not because of using a spell my friend, but because of taking someone out of the game. This exploit could in some place also be use by portals in BGs. stage a battle there and MC out opposing teams healers to not only gain advantage, but to put that person out of their premade indefinately, until a GM came and got them out of limbo. To use that spell in a phased area knocks someone out of game. As a GM, I certainly wouldn't smile on that.

Most people play on PvP realms, you don't need to do anything other than be in proximity, and be of opposite faction to get MCed. It requires no actions from the one getting MCed. I don't know if a GM would ban someone for doing that, If I were GM I'd definately give someone a miniban for doing that the first time, heres why: "Using or exploiting errors in design, features, and/or bugs to gain access that is otherwise not available, to facilitate and/or grant you an advantage over other players." Now..there isn't any larger advantage than making someone not even be able to play the game. also: "However, behaviour that is considered to be contrary to the essence of the Game will be considered a violation of this agreement." In my mind, purposefully kicking someone out of the game is as contrary a player could get to the essence of playing the game.

A forum account and a game account are two different things. You need to create a game account and receive the verification email. Oh I understand, you just happen to be using the same information.

Being on same IP address doesn't make any difference. Multiboxing or trading in ill-gotten gold is what get's someone banned. It is possible to get a rare false-positive and receive a ban, for which you can ask for a review. Safest thing to do is not put yourself in harms way.

If you have retail wow installed as well, Maybe Pottu's idea would work. "I want to play with a massive resolution but my WoW client only goes up to X. Can I make it bigger?" Yes you can. Interestingly, retail WoW and vanilla WoW share some Windows registry hooks. The easiest workaround is to install retail WoW, launch it once to set up the resolution that you want (you don't even have to wait for it finish downloading and trial accounts are free) and then launch vanilla WoW - when it asks to reset settings because of a hardware change, decline and your super-duper-amazing 4K resolution will now be working in vanilla WoW.

Nope. I'm not seeing any consistent solution here or elsewhere. I do think it's interesting to check processes and see if data is piling up, that kinda makes sense. If you see that, at least we know what the problem is, but not necessarily how to solve it.

I think everyone is still scrounging around for a solution to this. One interesting thing I've just read is to check your processes while you're running wow (control alt delete). If you see a large number of processes running for wow, it could be that an anti virus program keeps interrupting it and so it keeps generating new open files...til they get to be so many that it lags out then crashes wow. worth looking into.

You know..some of it i caused by high pop no doubt...but I was just reading you should do a cntrl alt del while the game is running and check to see what processes are running. If there's an unusually large amount of processes running for WoW it could be an anti virus program keeps interrupting.

try reducing view distance to medium. Also try a DNS flush.

If you've done every available fix, turn everything off including router and restart.
