    Rage starved when tanking

Ah yes leveling dungeon rage starvation can be rough. I find that using a macro like this helps a lot: /cast Shield Block /cast Revenge It will cost you 10 rage for the Block, 5 for the Revenge, giving you a bunch of Threat and will also mitigate damage. Revenge gives you more Threat than Sunder Armor, and for 1/3 the cost. Use this macro all the time, and use Sunder only when you have extra rage. This way you are constantly blocking attacks while proccing Revenge to use on cooldown. For reference, Sunder = 260 Threat, Revenge = 315 (355 eventually from AQ book). At 60 with Prot spec and Sunder Talents things change, so be aware I'm talking about leveling mostly here. I try to put up Demo Shout every single pull, as well as refreshing Battle Shout sometime during the pull. Then sometimes stance-dancing to Thunderclap if there are heavy melee damage mobs. Taking a straight 10% less damage is huge when stacked across an entire instance. It's incredibly undervalued by most tanks, especially while leveling. Being able to Charge/TC/Defstance/Demo Shout/Shield Block/Rev, is a pretty good combo to get a group plus the main target on you. I put up Battle Shout mostly just to rebuff since as a threat tool it's pretty negligible, but it's worth it being on yourself and your party for the slightly increased Threat/DPS. Anyway, good luck out there!

    closer to shutdown?

When Blizzard releases an ad with the word "nostalgia" people are worried. When they do nothing people are worried. Do yourself a favor and allow yourself to enjoy the present moment regardless of your nervous trepidation. When I discovered Nostalrius last year I happily played. A few months later it was shut down. No skin off my nose, I loved my time playing, so I got my time's worth. Do you worry yourself that a landlord will sell your house/apartment so you decide to not move into the house?
  6. can confirm, have seen a bunch of small Tauren Warriors
  7. When I got into AV for the first time I was so excited to see the massive... oh.. not so massive anymore? Actually a bit... small? This video is a good approximation of how big he was back in the day. Cyclonian for the WW Axe quest was also pretty tiny compared to retail. Both not gamebreaking by any means, just would be nice to have the same sizable sense of grandeur that they once inspired. Of course there are more complex issues to tackle, but hey I'm bored thinking about playing and thinking about things to talk about. Maybe someone knows why they're the size they are.
  8. Nope. I know 100% no one shrinkrayed Cyclonian in the three times I did it. You're right Lok needs time to "train" to grow in size, but I thought he started big and got even bigger, huh.

    Mining Impossible !

I leveled Mining/Engi up on the PvP server when it as between 6k-10k population average. I can only imagine how much more difficult it is now. While leveling, mining is probably the most brutal one to try to keep up, so it probably seems even more dispiriting since you are also battling 60's on mounts; not to mention the agony of getting up to 125 before you have a mount. It's going to be tough, expect it to be nearly impossible and then can be glad when you complete it in a merely "Grueling" status. Even herbs on the PvE server are much more scarce than I recall back in retail - but I know that I probably was on a lower population server with less farmers back then. Ramp up the population and that almost everyone has a gathering mod and what was once already somewhat scarce like Mountain Silversage or Mithril or Truesilver nodes are almost never seen. People are just so ubiquitous in the open world that if you see a node and go towards it, there's a good chance there will be another player going for the same node, at least on the PvP server it felt that way. The big thing is that tome-zones are not a thing. There is no timeframe where herbs/ore can repopulate in a region, so things always feel farmed out. The "quiet times" where you could log in and farm up some good few stacks of herbs doesn't happen, because people are always farming internationally. It is certainly more difficult than with a regular population, but I reckon it's more of a hindrance to the more hardcore guilds who are going to be progressing through AQ40 or eventually Naxx and will come into an issue with there being not enough Black Lotus for flasks for the server's guilds. I know people will be able to "make do" if they can't flask up, or can't level their crafting skills that quickly, but I kind of think having enough resources available is key to making vanilla a good experience. Once the fresh server is released it may reduce numbers slightly and help things out, but I doubt that it will change the demand all that much. I like the idea of keeping the game un-altered, but this seems like something which was a problem before, and will continue to impinge on players to enjoy the game fully even more in the future as more people reach 60 and farming intensifies. Anyway, good luck out there.
  12. There really should be a forum for each realm.
  13. Not level 60s. No. People who have been logged in currently for 30 or 60 or so minutes prior. Meaning people who have been in a dungeon or a raid get priority. Or someone who was logged in for a while questing or PvPing and was booted for whatever reason. This means that people who are 60 are not prioritized over leveling people in a dungeon just trying to finish that boss, or someone who is a twink in a lower bracket wanting to finish that WSG to get their tokens.

    13.6k que.......

Once a few days pass things will calm somewhat, but I think we can all expect some kind of a queue for a while, maybe until the fresh opens.
  15. It truly was a lapse on my part. When I first had logged on there was a paltry few dozen or so on queue which breezed past. I may be a few beers & bowls deep already though, so my judgment is cozily inebriated. At least I have the final episode of Stranger Things to watch while I wait out my purgatory.
  16. Does this have a swing-timer?
