Those reprehensible wankers. They cite a character transfer rate of 10% as a hallmark of the failure of the partnership between Nost and Ely, when the token system BROKE ON NOSTALRIUS' OWN END? Or was INTENTIONALLY SHUT DOWN? Nostalrius did this to the community by failing their own end of the deal! Those fuckers! I knew the moment the token and forums disappeared with no word from Nost that the two teams had a falling out behind the scenes, but I never imagined Nostalrius would be so dumb as to believe their own fan base would accept bullshit of this magnitude. Wow. Just wow.

If it usually resulted in a ban, Elysium-PVP wouldn't constantly suffer from a queue while visibly under the player cap. There are afk cheaters everywhere. What little enforcement there is, is totally ineffectual in discouraging this behavior. The staff are not doing what needs to be done. They're not nearly hard enough on the playerbase.

Start. Banning. Now. You gave them a chance. They ignored it and beat your new system. Any system you devise, they'll beat. You can only control the problem with fear. Make them afraid to cheat the system successfully. That's the only way. You know they're easy to catch - you only need to look for people with 23 hour uptime and tons of it spent idle or at character login. It's so easy to look for. Do what needs to be done, for fuck's sake.

So now the new server is up and the inns are packed with afkers. In all of the talks I've had with the GMs from tickets I've opened, it's apparent they're examining players one by one, slowly, with inadequate manpower. @Staff this isn't good enough. You need to take drastic measures.

Most of the hitting and spacing problems you'll face as a warrior are solved by this little scootching forward and back dance you eventually master. Basically take two steps back, and if that didn't work, one step forward, and possibly spin around if you went through the center point of the enemy! I'll teach it to you and some warrior macros.

Perma is too much, but with the revelation that the character select exploit has consumed around a third of Elysium-PVP's total player cap, something needs to be done to discourage this kind of abusive behavior in the future. 48 hours is great. They did it to get ahead, so let the people who played by the rules grab the 20 levels they deserve. Even things out, you know?

This is wonderful news. The hate towards another server is profoundly transparent. No one reading your threads believes you think this is more harmful to longevity than the available fresh servers being so impenetrable people quit by the thousands. I have multiple friends waiting to play because they can't play the game within actual real life person with obligations type schedules. You're going to see more longevity from this, not less, because this will prevent us from prematurely shedding thousands of players.

There should, and it should be no more than 10 minutes. When that happens people will go right back to hotkeys and macros to stay in. There's a million things you can do to stay in game while unattended.

They'll never create a better fix than terrorizing cheaters into playing fair with massive waves of bans.

You look for repeat offenders who are otherwise on 16 hours a day. Anyone with 24 hour uptime that isn't account sharing is cheating the system. No exceptions - ban all of them.

Wait, is this guy for real? He's bitching about increased spawn rates being intolerable and then, in the same paragraph, how leveling is frustrating. I get that the server has obvious imperfections - banding and the tendency of mobs to train on players nowhere near their point of spawning - but no one is going to take this argument seriously if it comes packaged two statements that, when combined, describe a demand that is impossible to meet on a server designed to handle 10k players.

Let's see if this turns into anything even remotely useful before you invest any kind of time into that, yeah? Sounds amazing, though.

As a priest, you'll need to do something called downranking, as your healing power stat goes up. Downranking is simply using a lower rank of the spell than the max one. Downranking is a thing because +healing increase the amount of healing done by any given spell by the same amount regardless of rank, causing lower ranks to become increasingly mana efficient relative to the higher ones as your healing power goes up.

Take a stand now and show your player base that your terms of service aren't for show. Even if you shed a few hundred or even a thousand players, the community will be healthier and last longer for it. If you want to increase the legitimacy of the classic movement, you cannot indulge or tolerate people who ruin the experience for others. I wait in the queue like I ought to. If you do not take action against those who circumvent necessary server controls, then I made the wrong choice, along with everyone like me - who are the vast majority. Don't make doing the right thing the wrong thing. That will sink this ship.

Not punishing exploiters means that the community will be comfortable exploiting next time.

Friend of mine suggested a week long ban for the character select exploit. Not a bad idea. 48 would work as well, if not better. The people using this exploit do it to get ahead of others. So why not set them back exactly as far as the people who play fair? Even progress out, while sending a message that even minor infractions won't be ignored? And do it to absolutely everyone who used this, even though they numbered in the thousands.
