By that logic fury warriors would do terrible dps. But since this server aims to be blizzlike, I can save myself the hassle of explaining why certain specs suck. Lucky me.
-
The first time you clear nef, the debuff limit will still be at 8, when spriests become a thing, they will have already gathered up quite some diverse gear and the raid overall will be smoother. If your guild takes 15 minutes to complete the encounter and your spriest doesnt use mana pots nor runes nor any of the dozen of possible consumables and on top of that spam mindblast like a maniac, yeah they will probably oom at 90% of the bosses hp bar.

What is the best race/class duo for duo-ing dungeons?
Aslan replied to Ruthven's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Thats post-classic, you can tell from the crit/hit rating on the items. But other dungeons like Strat should be quite easy to duo if you have a warrior with a fat 2hander and a healer, (preferrably shaman as horde). -
Give us useful specs the disc priests back please, you can have feral druids and enha shamans in return for your project.

Hey, I wasnt here to bash enhancement shamans, if your guild wants to take one for fun, go right ahead. You can also clear content with 5 enhancement shamans. I just came here to make fun of Renew, because he played a hunter no nost if I remember correctly and hunters lose their viability past bwl, you can replace them with hunter alts to tranq unless you find a legendary zecov. But you challenge me to it . Enhancement shamans bring 2 benefits over resto shamans 1.) Nightfall: You better use them with offtanks obviously, if all tanks are needed you can have a fury warrior with it. Now you may debate if a fury warriors dps and the benefit from nightfall is better than the fury warriors normal dps, but it surely is better than the enhancements dps + nightfall benefit. The hunter part was a joke, hunters need TSA. 2.) Improved totems: Shamans either heal the tank or the raid, raidhealers generally use chain heal (and lhw to safe individuals). You can take a spec along those lines here and heal perfectly fine, you just dont get to use healing wave due to lack of healing way and improved healing wave: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#hZxi0dVMZVcxtV0a (switch imp mana spring with tidal mastery or do whatever). I have zero problems with you actively recruiting enhancements or saying that they are good enough to clear all content with, because they are. You could probably clear mc with 10 ferals and 15 ret paladins. I do however have a problem with posts that sound like the author suggests that it is the most effective way to have enhancement shamans in your melee group. If you think that the small totem enhancements make up for the dps loss from dropping a rogue/fury, then I wouldnt want to be your math teacher.
-
Oh, only every decent part of any decent leadership in any decent guild since the majority of the time spent raiding is clearing trash and that determines your groups cleartime. Nightfall? That can be given to an offtank and even if you force a fury to use it, that would be more raid dps-efficient than an enhancement. Or even a resto shaman with a slightly modified spec. Melee hunter...?

Alliance or Horde StrawPoll for Elysium Fresh PvP
Aslan replied to Novex's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Ofc its not hard, but that doesnt change the fact that alliance raiding is more efficient. But in the end its only personal experience, my data sample of a handful of servers isnt exactly huge. -
Alliance or Horde StrawPoll for Elysium Fresh PvP
Aslan replied to Novex's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
In the long run, all private projects I played on ended up with an increasingly bigger alliance population the more content passed by. I guess pure pvp'ers are simply disenfranchised post-BWL due to lack of gear and alliance is the ezmode faction for raiding. -
Hallo Hier gibts nicht zufälligerweise noch nen zweiten schweizer käse? .

Yeah but pretty sure that got reported and it was claimed to not be a bug and working as intended. Pretty fair considering paladins never oom either .

[GUIDE] Fury Pre-Raid-BiS-List / Specs / Enchants(Updated to Patch 1.8)
Aslan replied to Mitycircin's topic in Warrior
The theory behind the hast enchant has always been clear, but thanks a ton for laying it out. However, comparing this directly to +7/8str/agi could end up making the pee in my skull smoke more than just a bit. If I had money Id consider paying a good prize for an excel spreadsheet with adjustable encounter length in addition to the normal gear/rotation/talent choices . Lets say the average Lucifron fight takes your guild anywhere between 35-40 seconds. There would be a certain % chance to get that additional hit and it would bring a certain benefit. 8 str always brings the same average benefit. Now simply weigh the average benefits vs. each other. The problem is the diversity of these fights, baron gedon gives that chance every like 10-12 seconds, ragnaros every 25 seconds, magmadar whenever you cant avoid a fear... in order to make the calculation practical we would have to assume a single target fight with a specific duration and without movement wouldnt we? The bad thing is, that is impractical for comparing the dps gains. -
I assume you want to see big dick hps iskampari, obviously lokamir is the way to go... First of all, lokamir belongs to your guilds core shadow priest. End. (The first lokamir at least). Nah it isnt that easy to convert stats for healers without knowing the specific circumstances. Generally as a shaman you are required upfront at all times because of your totems. In a competitive environment, this limits your possible drinking time all the way to zero depending on how fast your tank moves forward. That as a premise. When your raid is sufficiently geared to roll through content in that manner, you wont need the additional heal power to prevent anyone from dying so I personally would rather take the additional mp5 and never drink, provided you dont have a raidleader without a clue who keeps saying "you have to be oom after an encounter". (No you dont, you have to make sure everyone survives the encounter and use as little mana as possible, so your raid can continue clearing right away.) In an average guild its a closer call though, some encounters might benefit from shamans using lokamirs because stronger heals can limit the amount of deaths (you dont oom mid encounter with proper usage of consumables, so no need for the claw), then you have to sacrifice the mp5 and more potential of continuing the raid right away after the fight, but at least the encounter was sucessful. But no matter if you are in a high end guild or in an average guild, claw is a valid alternative to lokamir even if you prefer lokamirs... druids dont really have such an alternative. But now for the plottwist: chain heal mechanics were still bugged on nost shutdown, the bounces scaled with healpower even though only the initial should have... and the 2nd bounce calculates after the 1st bounce. Quite OP. And that means chain heal GREATLY benefits from heal power (lokamir), especially the bounces which jump to targets with a health deficit. But wasnt this post about warlocks too? Some guy above said that locks suck in dps early game (due to lack of hit gear)? Warlocks rule in naxxramas . Sorry, I cant make it easy for the OP. Oh and btw, if you arent a fan of bringing less healers and more dps in farm raids, because you want to keep a stable roster, you should consider hybrid specs to some degree. All priests should be PI specced - nobrainer. Shaman raidhealers may aswell spec into imp totems and drop mana tide + imp healing wave, they will be as reliant as chain healers and lesser healing wavers and boost melee dps more and can use 2 handers to auto swing whenever you dont need them to heal on trash mobs. Druids are kinda trickier, if you have more than one, he can spec up to +20% int in the kitty tree and do some off dps when you dont need him as a healer and decurse with a larger mana pool.

That rogue better has an 'I was playing on a toaster with my hemo dagger spec and my secretary gave me a blowjob under the table' kind of excuse. Jokes aside: what was your main character renew? I assume you switched to your hunter alt to tranq and then returned to your main to do real dps . (Not 'I modified realmplayers' dps).
-
Across the board, all classes need to respec. No guild will allow you in a sub par spec in progression raids and no serious guild will allow that in any raid. That being said, your go to holy spec will not be the most efficient one for pvp nor the best for farming. Thats just not how vanilla works, you need to set priorities and every time you change them you pay a ton of gold. Of course you can come up with a spec that might be better for pvp than your raid spec, but still not as good as a pure pvp spec while you are in a casual guild that farms current content, but that includes a lot of 'if'... I mean... imagine your whole guild has that kind of a mix spec and your guild keeps slackwiping. The raidleader wont be pleased.

[GUIDE] Fury Pre-Raid-BiS-List / Specs / Enchants(Updated to Patch 1.8)
Aslan replied to Mitycircin's topic in Warrior
There is interesst for it, this thread alone should be proof for that . However, I guess its safe to say that you can neglect anything past the first time interval, where your chance for an extra swing would be = 1. By that time, any mc or bwl fight should either be over or you were shortly off target and the swingtimer reset in the meantime, which means we are basically talking about multiple individual fights with a chance of getting an additional hit in, withing the same boss battle. -

Aslan replied to Mitycircin's topic in Warrior
That still doesnt help without knowing the real benefit from 3% haste. If a fight is shorter than the duration needed for the haste enchant to grant you 1 full additional hit 100% and the fight ends within a time frame that doesnt grant a haste wearer an additional attack in a short fight, haste does nothing.Haste enchants in short fights have a high potential of not giving any benefit or a slim chance of giving a huge benefit... and all fights in the beginning of raiding are kinda short. -

One last time: thats not how you determine the benefit of haste. Feel free to read over my first comment on this thread. To make an easy exemple that nobody can misunderstand:Warrior 1 has a swingtimer of 2 Warrior 2 has a swingtimer of 2 and 1% haste on gloves Fight lasts 1.99 seconds. Warrior 1 hits the mob 1x, warrior 2 hits the mob 2x. Now if you dont suck at probability like I do, get your old mathbooks out, head over to gaussian distribution and calculate the probability the that a fight ends within a timeframe that grants a haste user one additional hit over a str user. -

[GUIDE] Fury Pre-Raid-BiS-List / Specs / Enchants(Updated to Patch 1.8)
Aslan replied to Mitycircin's topic in Warrior
If you have any calculations regarding the haste enchant, feel free to enlighten me, I always sucked at gaussian distribution - probability. A 1% haste enchant can make the difference if you get one more additional full swing on a target before it dies. If your swingtimer is 2 seconds and the boss dies after 1.99 seconds, you would be able to hit that boss 1x without a haste enchant and 2x with at least 1 haste enchant. Its not like an encounter has to take at least X seconds before you benefit from haste, its rather a matter of when exactly the fight ends and the probability of a fight ending when it benefits someone with a haste enchant vs the small benefit of +7/8 str/agi. Anyone please? . Ironfoe... didnt it grant 3 extra attacks in the early patches of nost or is alzheimer catching up to me? -
The Greatest list of Pros vs. Cons on what server to play.
Aslan replied to Applesauce's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Thats pretty much what many of us are trying to find out for a few weeks now and the only repeated statement is that it is unclear yet. Unless you have a mysterious source to share with us (Id love if you actually did^^), it might be the same as the old nost or it might be slightly faster, but I doubt that they would allow the new server to catch up with one of the old ones. If they released content at a rate which would suit the server first guilds, the server would catch up to the old ones pretty fast, therefore you will spend at least some time afk in capital cities with your shinies. -
You never use daggers in a hemo spec, the ability isnt normalised, which makes it most depending on a slow weapon. The only thing that eventually overtakes combat in dps output would be seal fate in naxx and even thats quite debatable.
-
But... if its about the effectiveness of lvling from 1-60 isnt your list objectively wrong if you look at any empirical data on which classes reach lvl 60 first on average on all individual projects? Hunter/warlock. Nice layout for an opinion based list on what you like most though.

I believe its dispellable. Used to be on feenix at least if I remember correctly. You might wanna tell the other priests if you use one. Edit: Dont mind me . Im a little faster at writing than reading.
