  1. Squeaky wheel gets the oil I suppose.
  2. The basic ë , ì type, yes. I was told they are using Nostalrius's format, and those were allowed on Nost. Also Pottu was defending the use of them, so I'm not sure what gives.
  3. Shunning can go both ways, you don't exactly seem like an open-minded person, you won't help someone based on a name..If being on the receiving end of your help requires you meet a certain criteria, then it goes to show that your motives in helping people at all are not coming from any place of compassion. So I ask you what is it that people are missing out on by you not wanting to be their friend? It looks like you got your way anyways, Elysium caved and you safe spot is safe from scary letters for now.

A Roleplay Guild in the Making (Alliance-PVP)

I was a member of The Order for a while, (my character's "path" was not the same so I became a rp-associate so to speak) but I can confirm, if it's the same core group - it's a good group of people. Your guild will do well I'm sure Tropic.
  5. Fresh server = more things to look forward to. Plus Elysium said they are using the Nostalrius model, so it's just like starting fresh with Nost. Also "Bonus" is a subjective term. The fresh server may be considered a secondary thought to some, but to others it is the main reason they are here. Some people eat cake for the cake, and some people eat cake for the frosting.
  6. I thought most RP'ers were aiming for the fresh servers, It's looking like it will be stretched out among the 3 servers, which I think is going to shallow out everybody's rp experience. I guess it all comes down to priorities and how high RP is up on peoples list. I myself would put a large RP community above my personal preference of server. Deep down I wanted to roll Horde on the fresh server (where there will likely be no rp) but I was going to roll Alliance just for the sake of rp, but now I think things are spread so thin I'll just roll horde and not worry about the rp.

    Guild Membership cap.

Guild cap should be relative to Population cap. So if these servers are going over "Blizz-like" server caps, then Guild cap shoud as well.
  8. I haven't, Heavily leaning towards Tauren, but may go Troll.
  9. Everybody is excited like its Christmas morning, you can't fault us for wanting to chat about anything and everything wow right now. Isn't that what these forums are for?
  10. I'm going to make a toon or two on PVE, mostly to reserve names just in case. Other than that my focus will be on fresh. I don't plan on rolling on Nost pvp at all at this point. I had toons over there but can't remember my login info so I took it as a sign to move on from that server.
  11. Ah, we must unify my friends. I would hate to see our (most likely small) RP community spread out among 3 different servers
  12. The cool thing about WOW is that it's a game and no one is forcing you play it. Freedom to walk away is a glorius thing, isn't it?

RP journal from my toon on Nost

I found a great group of rp'ers on Nostalrius, I was sort of a late edition to their group, they had established storylines that they were working through and were kind enough to let me get in on it and allowed me to work my ideas into their characters world. We wouldn't share everything as far as where each of our stories were going because we liked the mystery and it help to fuel more 'realistic" responses to situations. Without putting much effort into forcing storylines to merge, they just did so naturally. Some of it was really complex but it was so exciting to see what the next day would bring. Nost ended before our stories had a chance to wrap up, so there are a lot of loose ends but who knows what the future might bring here. I wasn't sure if I wanted to share this, but I figured what the heck. So each night after I logged off, I would go to a word document and type out any important RP details that had happened that day. Every few days or so I would flesh out the details into a more story-like format and then paste them into the wordpress page. The grammar is far from perfect and parts of the story may get a little redundant, but hey I enjoyed the time spent with this character and I'm glad I have a piece of it to look back on, no matter what happens to servers from here on out. This was written as a journal-like collection of notes to a woman named "Winifred", from the point of view of my human warlock "Crowlëy", pretty much everything in it was roleplayed out with the help other players. (the entries go from 1-12, you may need to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see entry 1) Hope you enjoy Crow's Grimoire

RP journal from my toon on Nost

Sounds cool to me, I'd have no idea how to do that wiki stuff though, perhaps someone else is more versed in it?

    Warlock Griefing Allowed?

One man's grief is another man's pleasure.

    TBC in the future

Someone has to look to the future, otherwise we would never advance. And some people's minds are naturally wired to look more "big picture" rather than the present. I've always envied those who could find content in the now.

    Warlock Griefing Allowed?

I always enjoyed seeing Infernals tear up Goldshire.
  18. I did play on Nost, both servers. Never had a problem there. I guess results may vary, and that goes both ways.
  19. I'm honestly surprised by how upset some people are getting over this. If you want to stand your ground against people who use ë instead of e, just don't add them to groups, or tell them where to meet you and add them when you can click on them. It's actually not that hard to find a person through /who with a special character as long as their first letter doesn't start with one. And honestly how many people in the past have you tried reporting but couldn't because of a special character? As I said before I played from Vanilla to WOTLK and never once ever had that issue. There are certain names I've used through the years and sometimes I've had to use special characters and it's never negatively effected my ability to make friends or join a group. I don't think the situation is as dire as some are making it sound.

    Cool stress test pic

I managed to snag a screenshot of the fleeting <GM> Streeker (giant-naked-flying-gnome) from the last stress test. No quite a "money shot" but what can you do.
  21. Yep. I'm not very well off but I'll gladly donate when I can, even if it's $15 month as a sub payment.

    Vintage screenshots

These are not my vintage screenshots, but this is a link to some of the original World of Warcraft characters and graphics. These were obviously changed by the time vanilla actually was released. (Oops, just saw someone else posted a similar link a bit up in chat, my bad) http://www.masterofwarcraft.net/2012/05/bunch-of-world-of-warcraft-alpha.html
  23. i've played on a bunch of servers since Nost shut down, a lot of times they recommended deleting your WTF folder. Mine is looooong gone.
  24. I can't remember any of my info from Nost. This just further proves to me that I am destined to start fresh.
