No, you would only gimp yourself to being sub-par at both roles. Either suck it up and attain enough gold so that you can be arms outside of your raid day or stay fury all the time. Although if you're planning to do some serious ranking any good raiding guild would let you raid as arms for the duration of it.

hey guys!

No, the communtiy has it's way to look at things. That is the lingo that the players have developed in this scene. Ret paladin is considered a hybrid spec, if you disagree feel free to but in order to discuss things it helps when everybody is on the same page. And you're wrong in your last sentence. Shadow priest is a hybrid as per the standard definition but still a part of a "cookie cutter" raid composition.
-
The proc isn't worth alot in raids at least considering even in sub-par gear you probably reach about 40 % crit with world buffs and consumes. I'm not sure how it matches up against other pre-raid stat sticks as an OH but as storfan said you can easily replace it with basically any raid 1h.
-
Your own definition of hybrid doesn't interest me. In this context the specs that are hybrids are the ones that aren't performing their main task which would be: All paladins, druids, shamans and priests that aren't healing. You could also call fury warriors a hybrid if you wish though they're not usually counted among them. They're obviously not an underperforming spec. So to clarify: A ret paladin is a hybrid; a SM/Ruin warlock isn't. If this doesn't suit your image of this game then you can easily replace the word "hybrid" in my post with "Non-ordinary raid specs", if that makes you feel better.

Au contraire, you can build threat on at least trash packs even easier as arms spec. Charge (2h equipped) > SS > Zerk stance, Bloodrage > Whirlwind > Go sword/board and tank as usual When possible this is very potent in 5-mans. Small reservation for your own/healers gear, might sometimes be difficult if its too bad. If you're fury specced you can just tank like you would as prot but without shield slam. It's more than viable for main tanking all 5-mans and off tanking in raids.
-
Because in retail Blizzard has since a very long time back brought up hybrid specs and attempts to balance them all equally. The game is also alot more pruned and the different classes/specs play out much the same. In vanilla, hybrids are still severely underperforming.

To clarify on what Alrik said. The way I've noticed the problem is that whenever a mob dies I get a few freeze frames. Since on Razorgore mobs die ever so often though not constantly it's very infuriating since it just feels like you're dropping frames all the time while still remaining somwhat playable. Then in for example supressison room where large amounts of mobs get AOE'd and killed off at the exact same time I get a screen freeze that can easily last for 10 seconds. This is for obvious reasons detrimental.

You typically only have 2-3 melee groups so you definitely want more than 1 per group, it's not all about the buff but about the raw dps. Furys are the best dps in the game for current content and any good raid set up will bring at least five of them. edit: I saw that you wrote "at least" now, but point still stands. For OP: Finding a spot as any dps isn't particulary hard as long as you farm your pre-raid gear, enchant it and bring consumes to raids.

http://wow.gamepedia.com/Talk:Weapon_skill Alot to read there about Athans formula, anno 2006. -
You pick up the quest for the heartswood in The Barrens, not Stormwind or Ashenvale. Since you abandoned it you have to go back and pick it up again. Here is the npc: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?npc=6244

I guess the truth really hurts but it's a shame really. The reputation system was good for players less in the know to identify which posters are reputable and to be trusted. Now some new players might actually mistake a Theloras/Killerduki shitpost for something worth reading.
-
Sorry, but this is a complete joke and feels like a betrayal to all this project is supposed to stand for. I understand Pottu's and all of the other old staffs decision to resign now more than ever.
-
Then I stand corrected, thanks for the information. Is there anywhere I can read about the testing that was done?
-
I haven't gone by the the formula posted in OP, but if you've calculated that out of it then I suppose Elysium runs their own version of the hit table because according to all previous sources the yellow hit cap is as stated by several earlier posters including OP 8,6 %.
-
Regarding this, I know you come from kronos and they use an entirely different formula for weap skill with a 309 cap. Have you done the math for Elysiums 315 cap as well? Did you check if it also applies for non orcs/humans that don't get the free 5 skill?
-
Not with the weapon skill added in (Which by the way only applies to level 63 mobs, aka bosses). edit: Or rather, It's 24 % against a level 60 opponent (300 skill vs 300 def) but 28 % vs a 63 (boss level, 300 skill vs 315 def).
-
It's usually fury warriors that care about this, and for them the yellow hit cap is 8,6 % and the white hit cap is 24 %. No decent warriors reach the white hit cap. So unless you're speaking solely about tanks I don't see your point here. People don't pick human or orc for the small hit increase since edgemaster's is part of the bis regardless of your set which puts you at 307. It's because of the reduced effect of glancing blows.
-
Nobody goes for full hit cap.
-
Granted, I haven't looked into this too extensively yet but this should give you something to go after at least. For example I don't know the value of gauntlets of annhiliation vs edgemaster's so there may be some inaccuricies. http://realmplayers.com/CharacterDesigner.aspx?char=Human+Warrior+Female&items=Headx12640+Neckx21664+Shoulderx21330+Backx21394+Chestx21814+Shirtx4335+Tabardx19506+Wristx21618+Glovesx14551+Beltx19137+Legsx21332+Feetx19387+Finger_1x18821+Finger_2x19384+Trinket_1x11815+Trinket_2x19406+Main_Handx12584x1900+Off_Handx12584x1900+Rangedx17069x2523+ Keep in mind that you also have a couple of one use trinkets you can swap to by now in addition to the diamond flask like earthstrike and jom gabbar.

If you want any form of credibility when posting such an exact figure you may want to back it up with the actual subjects or data of your experiment instead of simply posting the method and expecting everybody to take it for granted. If it also was so exact that all of the different guilds data equated to the same "14-15 % difference" despite all of the variables as can be read in your previous post it should also be easily replicated with today's numbers. Without any of this, all I see is an arbitrary, non-verifiable number. -

Just tell us then who these players are so that I can verify. From our server please, I don't care about the others. -

Just looking at actual numbers from our server (it makes no sense doing a general comparison across multiple servers), you might want to take that number with a huge grain of salt. Also I don't know what rank 14's from top guilds that doesn't use edgemasters he's been watching. You simply can't put a a clearcut number on something like this because there are too many variables. For example, the warriors in the top guilds have such short kill times on bosses their diamond flasks and death wish has alot higher uptime than in an avg guild, which enables them to in turn have alot higher uptime on their heroic strikes which means their MH is barely affected by weapon skill since yellows doesn't glance. The same goes for threat, in alot of lesser guilds the furys have to use cleave instead of hs due to bad tanks which of course is alot more expensive. -
690 on right now :))) lmao
