  1. The pve vs pvp server argument is the most used reason for why a merge is not a good idea. But a more important reason is that you will completely screw over a huge portion of the players game experience by doing it. 1: Everyone on darrowshire lose out on the opportunity to do the scarab lord quest line and get the mount. (Unless you wait until AQ is out before they merge) 2: All darrowshire raiders will have a lot less gear for naxx (Naxx is schedueled to release 1 month before darrowshire even gets the war effort) meaning darrowshire would loose an entire raid tier of progressing, giving them no chance to compete in naxx vs the geared anathema players. 3: Horde is the ones struggeling with population, and a big reason for that is because some of the major guilds on horde side is very toxic, and scare away people even before they can start playing there "Roll resto shaman or gtfo" so a lot of the population issues is really their own fault. (Disclaimer: Several horde guilds are very friendly, but you got those huge guilds with zero community that just screw over everyone else)
  2. The most toxic guild on the server that spendt their time spouting nonsense on forums and discord, scaring away many potentional zg refugees. And now they cry about not getting members. Why am i not suprised
  3. So everyone else got to suffer because Anathema is getting close to a blizzlike population?
  4. The reason consumables cost so much is because you use them for things like MC, i understand it if you gonna go for a speedclear. But don't come here and complain about consumable prices when you want to use FLASK in MC, if there is something not blizzlike its that heavy consumables use in trivial content like that. GFPP is not necessary, people mostly use them while they are progressing, but after having cleared MC a few times there is no point anymore.
  5. Yea that was kind of my point
  6. Sorry, was that other guy saying their tanks died when using that trinket
  7. then that trinket is not going the be the reason your tanks died then is it?
  8. Healing output shouldnt be a issue really if you don't screw up rotations. If tanks die due to swapping to a hit trinket, it's because they didnt keep their defcap in mind when swapping around gear, and any guild looking to clear naxx within the first few resets know how the defcap works and how to swap around your gear to keep it. Top guilds on retail had to poach tanks, because they werent aware that they needed 7-8 tanks with decent tanking gear, preferably in 4p T3, to do the boss, until they actually got there. Not many guilds had more than 2-3 extra dps warriors with good enough gear to do 4H, and nowhere close to the 4set. So they had to either gear up 2-3 more dps warriors, or poach from other guilds. On private servers, guilds know exactly how much gear they need, in addition to having a lot more time to farm for said gear, making the entire proccess of doing 4H a lot easier. The only reason 4H lived for as long as it did, was because noone really managed to figure out a good strategy for it until DnT released theirs, shortly after they did, a lot of guilds killed 4H. DnT even lost the race on Kel'Thuzad because they released(or it got leaked i don't remember) their strategy too early.
  9. Did not know it had a cd short enough, but i guess if its shorter than what 150 seconds? it should work
  10. Naxx isnt a very hard raid mechanics wise, but it was a massive step up from MC and BWL, and most bosses in AQ. If you played wow active the last few years the mechanics that naxx throw at you is pretty easy mode. But naxx bosses is pretty heavy gearchecks, but that part is heavily negated by the timeline on private servers. We follow a blizzlike timeline, but on retail, most raids werent killed for the first time a few months after they got released. Blizzlike timeline = around 6 months inbetween raid tiers. First kills around 2 months in to the tier. That is 2 months extra to farm gear compared to private servers where raids are cleared first night, and that was only a comparison to the very top guilds on retail, the regular guild didnt clear a raid earlier than 4 months into a tier, giving only 2 months to farm gear before next tier was released. That in addition to huge amounts of knowledge in gear choices + 1.12 talents make a massive difference when it come to the difficulty of raids on private servers compared to retail. If you want to have raids that last a while you will need to overtune the raids by pretty large amounts. Only 4 horsemen is going to last longer than first night, simply because you really want many tanks with 4pieces tier3 to avoid taunt resists, but with some luck even 4h is not impossible without too many set bonuses. (Though you will need some divine luck to get a try with zero taunt resist)
  11. Just gonna tickle you a little Applications has been done since forever, it's still being done on retail wow, it's a great way not only to weed out bad seeds, but also to see if personallities match with the atmosphere of a guild. Raiding requirements are one thing, whats the thing now is speedclears, and thats why you see requirements, noone really care who killed a boss first after a while, it's mostly speedclears that show one guilds skill to another and thats why at least the top guilds have a lot higher requirements than whats actually needed to clear a raid. Bad seeds you will find wherever you go, Darrowshire is probably the place you will find the least of them on Elysium, rest of that segment is just rambling, and it sounds like you are still lvl 12, and that is a bit early to start judging a server. + the AH is not cross faction, and addons were used in vanilla the same way its used now, difference is raid mods are out before the raid releases, and not after the first guild clears the place. The game is not hard, but it is still time consuming, good players reduces the time requirement by clearing things faster, thus you get more time to do other stuff. Now, your post is a bit vague regarding what your point is a few places, but i hope i understood it correctly, sorry if i did not

    Darrowshire to Elysium?

There was shared a document like a month ago containing tons of drama between two oceanic guilds. Since i don't know for sure who's lying and who's not, i'm not gonna take sides in that conflict and spread alse info. But that was not good for the Oceanic community for sure, And Syanis here was/is member of one of the conflicting guilds, so don't expect unbiased info from him. I don't know enough about the oceanic community since i'm EU, But i'm assuming that the conflict did some major damage to the community, and thats why their population are so low now.

    Darrowshire to Elysium?

Oceanic times are a very small population, and in addition to that, they were screwed over by horrible leadership and drama (at least on alliance side) no wonder they lost a huge portion of their members after the drama that happened. But it's incredible selfish of you to support a merge when you play in such off hours, while the EU and NA which are the majority of this server are doing just fine. To the OP, if you find it hard to get groups to dungeons, join a guild
  14. I think it depends a lot on how casual you are playing. If you just wanna log on do a quick dungeon and log off you may have a better time on the higher populated realms. Though if you are casual in a "play a couple of hours per day" kind of way, you should have no real issue as long as you join a guild
  15. Thats a lie, tons of groups going on, but that depends on when you play of course. If you got issues, join a guild thats on the same timezone as you.
  16. All servers have their share of hostile players, though my experiences on Darrowshire have been pretty much only good ones.
  17. Every year is a bit too often if not the timeline is increased, you would want for servers to remain healthy during its entire timeline, and not just until people get tired of farming MC. And the people who keeps rolling on new servers all the time arent the kind of players a healthy vanilla realm should be aiming for. And the Anathema vs Elysium is a bad comparison. Anathema was shut down for almost a year before it got rebooted, a huge portion never returned. In the meanwhile vanilla realms got a massive media coverage, drawing thousands of new players into the vanilla scene, most of which wanted a new server over one that was a year old. Making a new realm now would not draw even 10% of the initial hype that elysium recieved unless it offers something special, like what i thought this OP was suggesting to begin with.
  18. You open your first response with a insult to 90% of the server, that is what i base my assumption of your personality You keep ignoring my reasoning for why this suggestion was a bad idea, you only focus on me not agreeing with you. And THAT is why i wouldnt want you in my groups. Yes my perspective is different, but i have also been where you are. New player on a 3-4 month old realm. I joined a guild which had just started raiding, now we're one of the top guilds on Darrowshire where i am a officer. And i know many people that even started way way later into progression that managed to make a name of themselves, but that is not done by giving up before reaching 60 and insulting other people.
  19. I don't wana ruin this suggestion thread by discussing this, but wow your post is so full of hypocrisy. The language barrier im talking about is on your end, you refuse to accept people for wanting something else than you, and that make them "russsians" and "Millenials" so people probably don't want to talk with you. Well obviously it's not hard to buy a guild charter and get it signed duh. You talk like Elysium is at the end of vanilla and all the guilds have completed everything there is to complete and that is just plain wrong, these players want to experience more than just MC, so they prepare for the next content by joining already established guilds which will give them a chance at doing the next content, instead of creating a new guild with some guy who calls people who don't agree with him for Millenials I wouldnt wanna build something with you either, when you call people names for wanting to be with the better players on the server, It's not because of "The love of the etablished" but it is preparing for BWL, AQ and Naxx, noone really care about progressing MC, since there are PuG's clearing it every week. I'm sorry, you are the only one here who don't see other perspectives than your own, i explained pretty well WHY opening a new server was not a good idea, but somehow you fail to talk about any of the reasons i gave you. I'm not gonna touch upon the ganking part, i play on a PvE realm for that reason
  20. Your post is some of the most rediculus i've read in a long time. There is clearly a communication barrier, but new servers every few months won't help you with that, calling 90% of the players here for Russians and Millenials, i wouldnt want to have you in my circle either when you start your post with something like that. You won't have a good time in a game that is focused on teamplay when you have a attitude like that. You arent even 60 yet and you talk about creating MC raids: Lvl up, do dungeons, and find players you want to play with, talk with them, start a new guild together, or join theirs. New servers every few months just so that every player can get a illusion of playing on a fresh server will do nothing but harm all the servers in the long run. Vanilla needs servers with a stable population, if not the server will die off. If you create a new server all the time, all the new players will start on the newest server, and you end up with 10 dead servers instead of having 1-2 great ones. Being a new player and joining in the middle of Vanilla is no problem, you just need to communicate with people, join a guild get friends, have fun with them, you can catch up pretty easy since a lot of dungeon blues are almost as good as raid epics until you start getting to AQ. Creating a NEW guild is hard if you join this late yes, but every player doesnt need to be guildmaster of the 1# raidguild on the server, they need to get friends that they enjoy playing with, and you do that by joining other guilds or doing dungeons. The server may lose a few potential players, but with your suggestion, the server will lose a lot more current active players, and eventually the servers will be empty, and empty servers will attract no new players at all. Elysium got 3 servers when ZK closes. 1 is completely fresh, 2nd ain't even halfway trough vanilla, and the 3rd are slightly over halfway trough, you can't get better options than this. You start out as a minion, but it's how you play that decide if you stay one. If you act like a child, people will treat you like one.
  21. This idea is of course not realistic until all the realms have finished the vanilla timeline, or at the earliest when Anathema has completed Naxxramas so they can dump the characters there when the ladder completes. And yelling out for a lock on a suggestion you dont like? What are you twelve? I personally dont like his suggestion because he seems to only want it because he is bored of farming MC, but the idea of a ladderbased vanilla timeline is interresting. Though i feel 4 months is too short, 8-12 would be a sweetspot, 2-3 month tiers. Another benefit is that it would make the next tier more challenging cause you wont have your entire raid geared in BiS items by the time next tier releases.
  22. Wow has always been a PvE game, the best gear has always been obtained from PvE. They tried to seperate pvp and pve in tbc, but the best gear would always be from pve. Weapons and trinkets all from pve. They aint gonna change their minds on this because a very few die-hard PvPers think that Pve is too easy for them.
  23. Your point would have been valid, if it wasnt for dynamic respawns on your server already increasing the available resources. the fact that elemental fire is so expensive is probably due to a very small amount of players are farming them to keep the prices high. Or people are using way more than necessary, My guild on Darrowshire havent used GFPP since Dire Maul patch arrived because they just aint needed, you can avoid every deadly amount of fire damage. But if your raid dont know how to spread out properly, you will need the expensive pots. Every other server have survived having expensive GFPPs, when anathema was still nostalrius they had twice your population, and dynamic respawns didnt come until very late in their timeline. They managed just fine, so will you.

    Is elysium blizzlike

The server is as close to blizzlike as you can get it really, if you can see past the 1.12 client having its limitations when it come to 100% blizzlikeness A few changes was made to combat the efficiency of gold sellers, and to stabilize the echonomy. Some i agree with others nit, But all in all, Elysium provide a good vanilla experience

There is no cap. But for curiosity, what class are you?
