I actually find it a little annoying, because it makes it difficult to tell what someone was trying to say in some cases.

Anecdotally, I leveled alts right up until Nost closed, and each one had no problem running every dungeon. Another anecdote: all of our returning guild members are extremely well geared, so all of our guild members leveling from scratch will wind up getting very geared very fast, as only a few items have any real competition for them.

I'm aware that banned characters from Nostalrius will continue to be banned on the new realms. Will other account actions (warnings, records of temp bans, etc) carry over as well?

Apart from our entire guild being banned from Emerald Dream and a warning for hopping up to the WSG roof back in 2005, I'm not aware of any actions against my account ever

T2 gloves, bracers, and either chest or head are going to be BiS for long fights until you're well into Naxx. The rest of T2 except for the chest is an upgrade (or sidegrade) to preraid gear. All of T1 is a downgrade over preraid.
