Just a quick recap of the drama surrounding the opening of the AQ gates: Missed deadline on website timeline by a month, but tons of unrelated project drama probably contributed to that. Custom war effort announced, increased numbers for increased population, but aiming for 3-4 week time frame. War effort numbers revealed to be large and demoralizing. Completion rate indicates about 6 month time frame. 3 weeks into war effort, staff announce they will lower war effort numbers and implement an autocomplete feature to be finished by 4/19 War effort numbers reduced, but still many times the Blizzard numbers and no chance of making 4/19 deadline. No autocomplete implemented, but war effort does end on 4/19! Yay! Staff announce with 2 days notice that they are considering delaying the gong event to cater to casual scum. Seriously. If you guys would have just kept quiet and not made deadlines/changes/proposals that you couldn't stick to there would have been so much less bile associated with what is otherwise a fun event for the server. But you couldn't keep your mouths shut about it and are now proposing to change it again. Stop changing things and just stop posting anything at all about the War Effort except for a congratulatory post about the gates being open on Wednesday. 99% of the drama involved in this entire event could have been avoided by keeping quiet.

Why would you expect someone from Titans of War to be anything but soft?

You can use Wayback in the same way that we find evidence of all the other Blizzlike mechanics to recreate that on this server. Things like the wall jump and fence jumps weren't changed for 6 years, and I imagine they only were to simplify the balance of the map when rated BGs were implemented. The fact is, graveyard jumps were absolutely blizzlike for vanilla, and should be the same on this server. Do you want any other changes from Cataclysm as well?

I played on retail from release onward, and never heard of anyone getting banned for any of these jumps. I used them all extensively on my massive battleground grind. Show me evidence of even one person getting banned in vanilla for these, please. Oh wait, you can't because it never happened.

Why does it matter if one faction gets one more black lotus spawn in AV? It's not like the price on the horde is going to have much of an effect on the alliance prices or vice versa.

Actually, the Alliance has two jumps to the Horde's one! You can jump up the wall to the right of the tunnel, and you can jump up the wall between the tunnel and the graveyard. Here's a couple of videos from 2008 and 2010 explaining some WSG jumps that still work today: Both the alliance and horde graveyard jumps require a certain amount of skill to do reliably, and I think it's good that they're doable on here (just like they were on retail until at least 2010). I think higher skill should be rewarded in battlegrounds. I'm actually somewhat sad that the full spectrum of WSG wall jumping isn't available in this client. You could do some very creative jumping behind the terrain features that lasted up until the massive wall jumping nerf halfway through TBC (which also killed getting into Hyjal, Old Ironforge, etc for most classes). Hopefully the GMs on here get on the same page regarding the graveyard jumps in WSG and allow it fully.

Thank you for posting the monthly thread crying about the AV back door. I look forward to reading the next one when AV weekend returns in 3 weeks. It's the only reason why the horde has even a chance of winning the race.

Since it seems like the QA team has switched over to the github bug tracker (which is a superior platform, in my opinion), I'd suggest updating the bug tracker link to github instead of the old bug tracker. It would also be a good idea to lock the old bug tracker and start the arduous process of migrating bugs over to github.

No gear has custom non-blizzlike stats. This won't happen. Also, you don't get shadowcraft in raids so it's easy to get as a cat. There's plenty of raid level gear that's great for cat DPS. The real limitation on its DPS is mechanical, not gear based. Shadowcraft isn't even very good for cats. Refer to the gear thread on the druid forums for much better alternatives.

He disagreed with the admins' plan to be more lenient on perma-bans and quit over that. (I think being more lenient is a good thing and the previous policies were one of my major gripes with Nost)

Custom content is 100% not going to happen. Read the sticky in this forum.

You're trying to invent new server rules to serve your specific case.

it is against the rules because it is abusing a mechanic in a way that it was not intended to be used. This is language that you made up and isn't in the server rules (helpfully linked earlier in this thread).

I've done this repeatedly on many servers, including retail, and got nothing more than crybaby whispers and posts like these. You're the one claiming it's against the rules, but you have failed to show any example of it ever being against the rules. Go read the section on griefing and exploiting in the server rules, and you'll start to realize that hurting your feelings or being a jerk isn't against the rules. Mind controlling people out of BG portals doesn't abuse any bugs or use anything but the intended effects of a commonly used spell. Finally, these forums aren't for reporting players. If you need to report a player's actions, you should use the in-game ticket system, as GMs won't respond to your reports on here (except to tell you to submit a ticket in-game).

You're crying about a mechanic that was done on retail and every private server to date (including Nostalrius and all 4 Elysium servers), and no one has ever been warned not to do it by the staff of any server. If you're expecting them to make your complaints into a special case, I have some bad news for you: you're not a special snowflake and this thread isn't going anywhere. I have nothing to prove. You're talking about a mechanic that was used in vanilla, and doesn't abuse any in-game mechanics (you could even mind control people through mage portals at various times on retail). The sole reason for this thread is that you got owned in pvp and chose to come cry about it on the forums, and now you're getting salty that nobody agrees with your sad little rant.

This is a vanilla server, which serves to recreate the vanilla experience. I'm happy to see that includes the forum posts from 2006 crying about pvp.

You've been able to mind control people out of BGs since BGs were first implemented on retail. It's clearly part of the essence of the game and you're just acting like a crybaby because you wound up on the wrong side of it.

My point is that it's entirely your opinion that you think MCing someone out of a BG portal is abuse. I disagree, so what makes your opinion more valid than mine? There's nothing in the server rules forbidding it.
