BBC Coverage - good or bad?
Mealticket replied to Metabolomics's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
It's the lack of accountability. I remember Undertanker, I remember Matt being a huge troll, if I saw them, I'd remember more people I saw and played with. During MoP, I knew my guildmates. And only the ones in my raid. -
All want to play Nost PVP.

There is but 1 Nost. Well, 2 but the other is care bear Nost. -
If they don't even plan this minor level of investment than it will not matter which server because it will be established before the 3 month mark and it's legends decided. So after that 2.5 months, all content is on farm for 4.5 months. That's the lull of fresh starts. Loot doesn't really matter that much, but learning and wiping and comradery is what I'm after. Can't do that in the earliest content.

Is it too late to start on the old PvP Server?
Mealticket replied to Edwin Van Queef's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
If your idea of progression is MC... I feel bad for you. If you and your mates are full pre-raid, it's instant farm mode. -
so What's the first thing you're gonna do when it's back online, guys?
Mealticket replied to Xadaver's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Same but IF. Going to be a madhouse for a couple days. -
The Nost community was time tested and our return to the server will be only a further testament to our vanilla prowess and dedication to the project. Some of the Fresh start people are new to pservers in general, new to vanilla, going to leave when CF comes out (cause it will be Fresh! omg!) and a few handfuls of people who want to reinvent themselves. That's not to discourage new players, but who do you listen to? The guy who has been a dedicated customer for years or the guy who is considering their first purchase?

Most R14 alliance warriors just swung their yellow dicks in ZG making it impossible to hold aggro off them : /. -

What a gross reducto ad absurdem we have here. As if its the epoints we enjoy. Having to wait for the same gates repeatedly and the utter unplayability of a launch the size of Nost is a huge burden. A lot of people in my guild would pass loot for progression raids. Some never even saw key items drop. Raiding is about conquest and the next step in conquest is AQ, not 1.5 years of repeating what we did last Feb or this April... -
Fresh loses its appeal when you aren't the bleeding edge of the bell curve. I play vanilla to get to content I heard stories about in 07 that I never got to play. For that same reason, I'd love to get on a BC server to relive T4 and fight through T5 and T6 and Sunwell. I've completed 3 raids I never got to, time for the last 3 of vanilla.
-
I work 70 hours a week and even at 3 hours a day and playing sub optimal classes... I've never taken 3 months to level. Usually I can get in 1.5 easily. You are also discounting the fact that those first two raids are intro. The only reason to run them is for tank loot and Rag/Ony items. PvP can be interesting if you don't end up on the full scrub faction and dungeons are what you do to prepare for raids. Presumably, if you're in raids... You've completed the 5 man content outside Righteous Orbs and other mats.

That Fresh server is going to be a drama fest. lol

You don't remember the 2 R14 warriors and the druid that always camped the Burning Steppes encampment? -

I do not miss the constant FP campers. They shut down entire zones. -
Where are people getting their info on what was happening on Nost? Almost on the AQ event? Not hardly. Everybody was 60? Not even close. Well geared? http://realmplayers.com/CharacterViewer.aspx?realm=NRB&player=Mealticket I was only 6/8 BWL. All raids were still very much in play by players in varying progressions.

I call 7 months a long time to live with only 2.25 hours of content.

Ahn Qiraj opening on the Fresh Server?
Mealticket replied to Jambi's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
If it meant I knew that things might be fixed... Maybe. I was more referring to the reason any of us chooses a progressive realm vs all content released realms. I like the whole server being limited, just not at the times where there is nothing to do. -

The promising thing about the progression up to the point Nost is at... All content is current. MC has some bis items for Rogues and Warriors and all T2 pants. Ony has t2 helm and the head and 18 slot bag. ZG has some of the premier weapons and rings of the content for some classes and specs. BWL has really solid healing gear and a lot of top level trinkets/weapons and T2. All this stuff is being farmed and the lower the tier, the more likely its being PuG'd. Not to mention, Righteous Orbs/holy water farm in Strat... Everything was in play. -

That belief contradicts statements to the contrary of keep the Nost schedule. It being scripted doesn't take away from a more blizzlike experience. A blizzard expansion is 2 years. The Nost server may be a bit longer than blizz releases, but will be a similar experience. -
Fresh server last makes absolutely no sense
Mealticket replied to aristotheron's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Those of us with friends from Nost don't need a poll to gage hype. It's essentially asking the friendless to congregate. -
400g in consumes to be remotely competitive. And even then... That's every single raid.

Is it too late to start on the old PvP Server?
Mealticket replied to Edwin Van Queef's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Then your argument is solely based on the amount of time any given individual has to dedicate compared to the mean. It's not objectively easier as this depends on your personal situation. If you want to catch up on Nost, it's pretty easy even for the casuals. If you have no obligations, you can be leader of the pack on fresh start. So, whether or not it's a better idea to roll Elysium or Nost is whether or not this player has endless time to use on the game. Cause if he has fairly average amounts of free time, it will be roughly equal with more content to play on Nost. -
Is it too late to start on the old PvP Server?
Mealticket replied to Edwin Van Queef's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
By that definition, by week 3, no one is on par. No-lifers will be max level and reaping the rewards of having no other obligations, people with shorter lists than average will be next and those with low amounts of free time will be way behind. On a server with the population we are referring to, that's thousands of No-lifers followed by thousands of low obligation. The only people who can even be concerned with that definition are the No-lifers themselves, so it's a useless standard. I like having a lot of content to play when I hit 60. You can always find a newly forming guild and power through. Getting ahead of the economy isn't even really a thing. It's a 2-3 day perk at best. Just realized that in some of your examples, "on par with" is being used to express an advantage or opportunity toward advantage... On par is equal to or being roughly average by comparison. -

Mealticket replied to Edwin Van Queef's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
But that's what being on par is... End game is about the collection of new items to power up your abilities. If you want to be in the center of the leveling bell curve, sure that's on par too... But you can easily get to the center of the end game bell curve which is mix T1/T2 and even get to the edge of that curve by getting full T2 equiv before AQ drops. -

Mealticket replied to Edwin Van Queef's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Vanilla items are spread out for fury. A few from ZG, some MC, some 5 man and crafted. That being said, it's the same for all dps classes. Tanks can be carried to catch up with tier 2 content. My guild was progressing through BWL at the time of shut down. Running MC weekly for the odd pieces that never dropped (mostly weapons), ZG nearly on CD... In that environment, if you have time to play, you'll catch up quickly. Also, if you're the only 1 who needs it vs all 6 of your class need it simultaneously.
