I guess that's my point. You run into a catch 22 where some who consider the ramifications of the Nostalrius community joined with the New Elysium community in the fewest available zones at once are seen as biased and people who want that to be the reality are seen as foolish. It's a no win and will have potentially disastrous effects.

The retail community got super toxic since I quit... Or maybe they're just sending the trolls here to destroy Nostalrius before it can return.

I'll refer you to the above argument that the reason we don't play retail is because they catered to arguments of a very vocal subset. WoW had a ton of potential. The previous community was time tested. I played for 8 months. Some of the hype train people won't be around long, while I'll be pulling my hair out in naxx on Nostalrius PVP.

Why do you believe that a vote by a bunch of people who have never worked on a server and have no accountability for its failure would be educated enough to make a decision that will most likely be a logistical nightmare? 30k players of various levels are going to be spread across most zones. 30k level 1-5s will be in 4 zones... The hope is that some old Nost people don't go to the fresh to lessen the stress. We saw what happens during the stress test with 1/3 that population in 8 zones, give or take.

I guess it isn't the Nost community he wants to join.

Before the shut down, Newcomers were welcomed into our guilds with open arms, into our established 5 mans and our ZG pugs with no questions asked. Our alts added the newcomers to their friends lists. We quested with them. Why would any of that change now?

Based on one of the previous admins, forgot his name but he's vocal on YouTube, AQ was still a few months away from Nost quality when it was shut down. Now with resources being divided, not saying it's a negative, it may be a bit longer. Just be 60 when the gates open cause it promises to be epic.

The inferiority complexes are real. All retail rerolls are catching up. We used to reroll new servers all the time and catch up to the content pre easy mode. I logged in on day 1 of Nost, it was unplayable. I logged in 2 months later and had a way better time than I would have. People who want content to play, will be on Nost pvp and people who want a shot at glory will go Elysium pvp. The care bears, though I don't agree with their lifestyle choices, will play the only real server they have. We were and will continue to be the community that made Nostalrius THE server worth playing. Devs don't bust their tales on dead servers. You can ride the hype train and publicity if you want, but you guys need to stop disrespecting the people who made the shut down a huge thing and not just a server fading away.

Only 2 hours and 15 mins worth of raiding available on Fresh. Know that much. Unless, of course, you really enjoy UBRS.

That would depend on how many rolled there for the PVE or for the newer of the 2 realms.

^ Don't necessarily understand the aversion to established servers (retail rerolls are always on established servers), but some people are taking the trolls too seriously.

5-8k, Imo, I know this seems like splitting hairs, but a 5k base pop would compensate for the 1k players in Org/IF dicking around in world chat.

You all can always just continue on with what you're doing now... You aren't forced to hang with us geared players.

No I haven't. I've seen a ton of people asking about fresh start. Hardly any talk about Nost. Most of the pop most likely won't be from retail, so I'm not sure your fear is warranted.

Do you have context for this rant? Just curious cause I don't see any of this in this thread.

Releasing a server that promises to spread people out quickly will be less headaches than a starting zone server. Could you imagine the split resources on bugs and prepping a new server while everyone fights for boars?
