They all probably wanted to name it something different so they had a round of rock, paper scissors and the RPer won.

Don't worry, you've only got another 24 hours of long queues. Once the 2nd server opens tomorrow they'll be a lot less in queue for Elysium
-
So only the people who are willing to spend weeks and months on end sitting in 10+ hour long queues are deserving of playing a fresh server? People who are not able to commit to that should just leave / quit?
-
Yeah, I think so as well... which is perfectly fine imo.

I don't quite have a week off, but I've the next 2 days off, just enough time to go hard and try to break away from the zerg.

Restarting the server just to free up 2k spots would probably do more harm than good. First, the 9k people online who get booted off then lose vs the authenticating boss and get thrown into a long queue after the server restart get screwed over, especially after they probably had to go through hours of queue just to get into the server in the first place. It also screws over the current people in the queue who have been there for hours slowly working their way down, all to suddenly DC and then most likely get thrown into the back of queue again anyway (like you described happening to you). Not to mention the stress on the login server when the 9k people currently in game, plus the 10k people currently in queue, all get a DC and then hammer the login server at the same time, causing more authenticating / login issues etc. Furthermore, once the server is actually at it's cap there is huge delay / lag (not ping/ms). At least having the 2k people at the character select screen keeps the server performing well by keeping it at the cap that it actually should be at. All that just for an extra 2k slots in game, doesn't really seem worth it imo. I woke up at 6am and hopped in queue which was around 6k ish at the time, 4.5 hours later I am 1016 in queue. I'd much rather just wait through an extra 2k more people in queue and know that when I actually get into the server, it will be lag/delay free. I mean if I already have to wait over 5-6 hours to get into the server, why wouldn't I just wait an extra hour or 2 to get into one that is going to be smooth gameplay?

Character transfer possible between realms?

Boosting my own character, is this allowed ? ( alt tab two accounts )
Ntbud replied to Loktarøgar's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
How is that stupid in anyway? You're saying if multiple people in the same house want to play together, they shouldn't be allowed to? But you playing all by yourself, SHOULD be allowed to multibox and take up multiple positions both in queue and in the server, when there is already literally thousands of people who want to play just one of their own characters? -
I really doubt it'll take them 3 weeks to release the new one. I'd assume if not this weekend, then sometime next week. The first 2 days there were 10k people online, and 20k people in the queue. That quickly started to drop to what we now have as 10-13k ish queues most days. That wasn't because "hype died" like everyone likes to say it was. It's because some people just are NOT going to sit in a 20k person queue, it's way to overwhelming for some people. When you only have 2-4 hours a night to play, you hop on the computer and try to log in and are met with 15k + queue, many people will just NOPE the fuck out and move on to another game / server etc. I'm sure the devs / GMs are well aware of this and know that the sooner they bring up a 2nd server, the sooner *most* people will be happy. The people committed to Elysium server will be happy they no longer have to wait in such insane queues to play and the people who have hardly gotten a chance to play at all will be happy to move to a new, less populated server that probably has zero queues all together. So them waiting 3 weeks doesn't make much sense on their end imo. Unless of course they just physically can't get another server up and running that soon, in which case there's nothing that can be done about the people leaving over time due to being unable to actually play.

Will the Que situation improve over time?
Ntbud replied to DirtyD's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
The queue situation will only be solved when there is another place for those 10-20k people in queue to go play. Basically, when a second fresh server is released, that's when you'll see the queue go away, or at the very least only be around 1-2k edit: And yeah you're right about it needing to be sooner than later. The longer people invest into the first server, the less likely they'll be to move on. Even if they don't get too high of a level many will have the mentality / attitude of "I've spent weeks in queue trying to get this character leveled, I'm not abandoning it now." So yeah, the longer it takes to bring up a 2nd server, the less likely more people will go to it. -
Honestly 8.5k-9.5k IS the threshold, that's the point right before the delay / lag comes to the server. Server should be capped at like 9k pop simply for better performance for those 9k people, as opposed to just letting an extra 2k into the server. When the second fresh is released, this won't be a problem anymore. Hopefully they'll both be capped at like 8-9k and everything will be sooooo silkyyyyy smooooooooth.

I can't access to the new fresh server Elysium PvP

We hope =X. -
Yeah there is a ton of people who, especially for the first 3 days, were only able to play for a matter of hours in total and some that never even get a chance to get in and make a character. I imagine the majority of those players would be interested in going to the new one. Also people who just plain and simple saw a 12k-20k queue and just NOPED the fuck out at that point. Just because they don't want to sit in a queue for half a day, doesn't mean the demand to play a fresh server is gone. It just means a few thousand people aren't able to wait in queue like many other people can. Those players would also probably go to the 2nd fresh server. Also there was a bring big community of "racers" before Elysium launched who wanted to race to 60. However that fell apart within the first few hours of server release because only a small percent of them actually made it into the server, giving a huge unfair advantage to the rest of them. So those people as well would probably try their luck again by going to the 2nd fresh, which won't have those insane queue times. There's also another giant group of players who don't like these massive 10k+ population servers. They prefer more around the 4-6k size. So there is also a good chance that anyone who is currently playing Elysium who doesn't like the constant 11.5k population and lag/delay because of it, they may also go to fresh #2 simply because their preference is a smaller sized server. There are a million reasons why someone may or may not want to go, or stay and no one knows for sure what the population balance will be like, but I think it's safe to assume that if this new server is released this week or by this weekend, that both servers will have a pretty equal population. The 2nd fresh might have 1-2k less people, but it will certainly still have more than enough to be active and populated one.

Also if you look at the server status page you can see how they restructured it to fit a 4th server, there is an empty space now to list another. There hasn't been any official announcements yet. I imagine they're just getting everything in order and set up first, then will give the confirmation once it's closer to being ready.

IF 4th server can we host somewhere N.A.
Ntbud replied to papakoko's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I'd imagine thats the idea they have in order to space it out a bit. The people who have already went hard these first few days on Elysium, as well as guilds who committed to playing there will most likely stay. Where as the guys who spent the majority of the time in queues and only able to get on a handful of times (myself included) will probably go to the 2nd fresh. Hopefully both servers can be capped at 8k ish for smooth performance without any kind of lag / delay like there currently is on Elysium when the pop is over 10k -
Nost PvP - Came out nearly 2 years ago. Was up for about a year, most guilds had BWL / ZG on farm. Shut down for about 8 months ish. Re-opened a month or so ago. Completely open world PvP in contested zones. Nost PvE - Was up for a few months before shut down for 8 months ish. Still on MC / Ony content. Re-opened a month or so ago. NOT OPEN PVP. You must turn on your PvP flag in order to fight the opposite faction. If they're flag isn't on, you can't fight them. Elysium PvP - Opened this week, no one level 60 yet, so obviously no raid progression yet. Completely fresh server. Completely open world PvP in contested zones. Valkyrie PvP? - Potential 2nd Fresh server to meet the demand of all the new players, lower queue times be spreading the pop out and hopefully smoother performance because of it. Completely open world PvP in contested zones.

Do you have any edited MPQ files from previous servers you played on in the folder? Like race swaps etc.? -
Time for New a New PvP Server
Ntbud replied to KromKrush's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
While I agree another fresh pvp server would definitely balance out the queues and get people in game playing, rather than playing the queue game. To say the launch was a disaster is just flat out wrong. This launch, the biggest launch in WoW private server history (11k online 20k in queue on day 1), has been handled INSANELY WELL. There hasn't even been any downtime really. The servers have been stable the entire time, there hasn't been mass crashes or anything like that. And it's only been yesterday and today that the lag has shown up, and that's only because the server can't handle more than 10.2k active players in-game, without 2 second delay and lag etc. However that's easily fixed if they just cap the server at 9.5kish... like the pop we were playing at when we had 2k people at character select screen AFK. I miss those AFKers, they kept the server lag free, RIP. But aside from the recent lag, the servers have been insanely stable, even when under DDOS the first 2 days. The only complaint people have is the queue time, but really there is nothing that they can do about that? It's not like you can just instantly create a stable lag free 30k pop server lmao. The only thing they can really do about it is to bring up a 2nd server to take the 13k people in queue everyday and throw them on a new server. Everything considered, I'm incredibly impressed with how well and stable this launch has gone. I imagined far worse for this week. I assumed day 1 at 12noon the server is up, by 1pm it's down for maintained for 3 days. That's what I expected ...however it's been the exact opposite, which is super impressive. Just because there is server full with 11.5k people, and you have to wait in line with 15-20k people to play...that doesn't mean the launch was a disaster. It means it was a success. Now they just need to bring up a 2nd fresh and spread that population around a bit. -
Can we bring the AFKers back, or cap server @ 9.5k?
Ntbud posted a topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Great part about the 2k people always sitting at character select screen was that the server ran flawlessly without any lag or delay. Everytime it hits 11-11.5k it lags like hell. #bringtheafkersbackpleasestopthelags -
Elysium 2nd server. Are you starting there??
Ntbud replied to Guilty's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
UP to 3 hours? I wish it was only a 3 hour queue lol. I tried to get on today around 1130am-noon ish, queue was 13,700. Decided to go out and run some errands, get food etc. came back home around 5pm and the queue was in the low 6000's. That's like a legit 10 hour queue from beginning to end lol. Thankfully they put patches on the server and restarted it a few times, giving me a chance to spam login quick enough after it came back up to skip the queue this time. I agree though, I feel like a second server is needed. -
If you sat there at retrieving realm list for 2 hours just staring at the screen, you're fucking hilarious lmao. After your queue ends and that pops up, you're supposed to hit cancel, then create your character lololol.

I've already got raid gear characters on Nost 2.0. Raid logging not so fun atm, maybe when AQ comes out it'll be cool. For now though, it's all about that fresh level grind and PvPing on the way <3. -
So much for elysium VANILA !
Ntbud replied to DRAGUNOV88's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Pretty much this. Blizzlike usually refers to the rates of the server (1x exp, 1x gold, 1x loot) as opposed to Funserver that are like Instant 60, 100g drop per mob, vendor with free items etc. Back when these private servers started popping up 8 or 9 years ago in mass, the only way to differentiate servers (if it was a legit server with normal leveling speed and somewhat copy of retail, or if it had increased rates, overly involved GMs, custom items etc.) was to quickly label it "Blizzlike" or "Funserver". There used to be server lists of like 100's of private servers to choose from, so you'd have to sort them by "Blizzlike" to find one that fit your personal interests. Blizzlike does NOT mean everything on the server is exactly the same as it was on retail. It's more or less influenced by how it was and tries to mimic the same "feeling" or "experience" that retail offered, but it will never be completely BLIZZLIKE. There will always be quality of life changes (Like 5x the retail population for a more interactive and alive world, or increased hp/dmg tables on raids to raise the difficulty to mimic the struggles we had in retail as shitter pallys wearing full T1 thinking that was best gear to raid with etc.) or technical changes that can't simply just be how it was (like corpse decaying 10-20 seconds after dead to make the server playable with this population). On a side note... I haven't really had any problems with skinning all my mobs. The only time I did was when I killed 4-5 mobs at once, and didn't loot any. By the time my last mob died, the first was despawning. However that was my fault because theres no reason I couldn't take 1 second to shift + right click the corpse, then right click it again to skin it. -
