Making that back and forth run through Duskwood feels far too safe right now. We need the fear factor! My first encounter with him was my first run from Westfall to Darkshire back in the day. I was standing in the road staring at Darkshire and had to hop up for a second, and when I came back he was right behind me. lol

Just curious about all the people who had never played Vanilla but are trying it out for the first time here. Now that it's been out almost a week, and pretty stable for a few days, how are you liking it? Is there anything that made it or killed it for you? Or are you just basking in how different it feels? I had gotten a whiff of the leveling experience like this when I started, but also had some friends who had been playing longer that made it easier with runs, bags, gold, etc., so starting out 100% fresh and making my own way has been fun and much more rewarding. I'm up to level 19 so far, mostly trained up, half decentish gear finally, with a handful of silver in my pocket and really enjoying it.

Same! After leveling tons of toons over the years, I hated the very idea of leveling anything on retail. Now, i'm having more fun than I've had in years! There are some frustrations of course. But they were the same frustrations I had the first time. For example that back and forth run from Darkshire to Raven Hill isn't annoying because I'm used to the current game, it was always annoying. lol

It depends on the quest too. If the drop rate is high it isn't too bad because you sort of know going in how long it will take. It's potentially a nightmare on bad drop rates though. I joined a 5 man group last night knocking out some quests that included drops, and it wasn't bad at all since the drop rate was decent. Plus you get to have fun killing with some friends, grinding out some extra exp, and maybe even grab a nice green drop or two in the process.

Wish I had enough gold to be duped by this. #freshielife

I'm a miner and haven't seen a TON, but I see them regularly. I've probably mined 50+ ore from nodes up to level 19 just hitting the ones I come across while questing and 2 or 3 in the only VC run I've done so far. If I were to actively go farming I'm betting I'd find more. It's cooking mats I need. I've gotten enough boar meat, boar intestines, boar livers and boar gonads to open up my own pork shop.

And yet the DDoSing won't make their balls drop any faster. The attacks are always a temporary inconvenience after which the players move on playing the game anyway and forget all about it while the attackers are still salty douche bags. We may lose a few hours of gameplay, but in the end they're the ones who really lost in being dealt a brain plagued with anger issues and a skewed view of reality where people actually give a rat's попа about their existence.

Ticking down slowly but surely! Mine's at 2,300 now. I took a break for a while when it was having issues earlier and got some food, haircut, showered... Then finally queued up on WoW and did some Christmas shopping on Amazon, and finished up some quests in Hearthstone while waiting. Now I'm bored and have what looks like about 30 minutes left so not too bad! At least I got to make my toon earlier. Sexy flame bearded dwarf lord!

What's currently happening is exactly what every single human involved in this project knew was going to happen, and they decided to hold off anyway. So it's not likely they'll release it now. It'll start thinning out as the people who are binge playing now start logging, as well as once the people who will inevitably not like it leave.

They're announcing it on the 25th.

That's why I'm taking greenthumb to go along with herbalism, so I can grow my own Black Lotus in my basement away from prying eyes. mwahahaha

While we wait for Saturday, I figured we could go over some memories of starting out playing so many years ago. I've seen some awesome early screenshots posted, but what about when you FIRST started? Do you remember your first death? Or your most memorable early death due to being a noob? For me (started early BC) I rolled a Draenei Shaman first because my friends were all Alliance. I was just barely outside the starting area near the river, and as they'd explained to me yellow mobs won't attack you, I took a break and afked there. When I came back I was dead. They helped me figure out what happened and it turns out it was one of the stealthed blood elf scouts (who dropped the coveted blood elf mask) buuuut due to me not understanding and some miscommunication, they ended up thinking I was flagged somehow and it was an actual blood elf that killed me and explained how to make sure I wasn't flagged. I spent the next few hours paranoid I was going to get ganked again and not 100% positive if I was going to flag myself on accident again. I just knew that elf was waiting for me behind every tree! *** As a bonus, I also remember my introduction to Stitches. Standing in the road to Darkshire, I saw the red text and people shouting, and I just stood there facing the town wondering what was going on. And then I was dead.

You've looked everywhere except this forum apparently because that's been asked about 500 times this week. lol It's on the Elysium front page. There's a countdown timer and everything.

I'm gonna just hold my shirt out and store extra crap in there. Or make my bear hold it. WTB saddlebags for pets.

My plan is to run around grabbing flight paths, go to the city and grab professions, and just run all over the back 40 and get whatever exp I stumble across until I decide to get back on track.
