Nope, I'll never play on Kronos because they don't have a PvE server.
-
Yep, Nostalrius were so good they deserted the community and ran off with their tails between their legs. TWICE.
-
Another Kronos stooge no doubt. Toddle off to your sub 1.5k servers and enjoy your ghost town, we've got more than enough players per realm to ensure a quality experience. As for the bugs. Yes there are bugs, but they are merely a minor annoyance. Find me an alternative that is completely bug free. Oh never mind, they don't exist...

It's a nice server, hope you enjoy it. I've played on the PvE since the start of Elysium and for a number of months on Nostalrius pre-shut down. There's a decent community here for the most part.

GM just banned my friend? WTF mode.
JunkShop replied to Antipatra's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
The last time someone came here and protested their friend/guildmate's innocence it turned out that the guy protesting had been lied to. If your friend is innocent, then a ban appeal will judge in his favour. Get him to make an appeal because otherwise he will stay banned forever. If he doesn't want to put in an appeal, then you have to wonder why that would be. There is always more than meets the eye when bans are concerned. By the way, nobody has to produce ANY evidence to you. It's not your account and therefore they don't have to justify anything to you. What's your friends name by the way? The last time the GM's posted in the thread exactly why the guy was banned so his friend would know how he was being lied to. Maybe they'll do the same here after looking at the appeal? -
Why the population is decreasing so fast?
JunkShop replied to Fivp's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I wouldn't be surprised to see both new realms merged at some point. It's a bit difficult to transfer or merge servers that are on different timelines. The fact that these two started so close together means they will always be at the same progression level, so there shouldn't be too many problems merging if the time comes. -
Many of us use other people's addons a) because we can't make them ourselves b) because the people are kind enough to release them to the public Many of us donate to the cause if we feel the addon is worthwhile after using it for sometime. I've donated to countless addon creators over the years, but not because they asked, but because their product is exceptional and it helps me greatly in the game.

I get the same problem. It takes me 3-4 attempts to log in usually. Very annoying. Out of interest, which authenticator do you guys use - Google or Duo? I use Duo, just wondering if it's related to the app specifically.

Which one? There are four :)

Live a bit off the grid... help with authentication please
JunkShop replied to Bejeebus's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Look, whilst the authentication is great and it works well, you don't need it. All you need is a safe secure password that you know is used for nothing else. Change your password regularly. Use numbers, letters, anything you can to make it as unique as possible. Write it down if you have to. Don't click on any phishing links in any e-mails you might get. Check your PC for malware REGULARLY. Don't share your account details with anyone. These basic things are enough to secure your account forever. Authentication is just an extra layer of protection over and above the basic things that everyone should be doing anyway. -
Basically Nostalrius pulled out of the partnership and also requested Elysium hand back their core and data. Elysium changed the Nostalrius server names and agreed to stop using the core and data at some point in the not so distant future. Nost's announcment http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45489 Elysium's response https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/32701-our-official-response-to-nostalrius-—-elysium-will-prevail/

If you are doing it to annoy someone else then it could be considered griefing which could land you in trouble.
-
Eh? @Xerox above says they ARE case sensitive. So which is it?

a longshot (character from nost)
JunkShop replied to Agent Delta's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I understand completely. But it's NEVER gonna happen. They do it for you then it opens the floodgates for everyone else to ask. There were people trying to transfer characters right from the start but could never get the token to work, yet still, even though it wasn't their fault, they had to accept their characters were gone. It's time for you to accept the same. -

I can't use world, I type /join world and nothing happens. -
If you mean you can't enter your password it's because the database is down which means you'll get the 'invalid password' message.
-
I only use my username and password for this server and I use the authenticator too. I'm not worried.

There is a better solution. Improve your account security. Being hacked is not the fault of the service provider, it is the fault of the account holder. Therefore, with such a small team and so much work that needs to be done, why should they waste valuable resources on looking after accounts whose owners can't be bothered to take basic precautions to protect themselves?

These servers are not run by the same people as before. Whilst Nostalrius provided the code and database to Elysium, they are not in charge of the project and thus have no say on whether the servers get taken down or not. The responsibility for that lies with Elysium, who have publicly stated that should they receive a Cease and Desist notice from Blizzard, they will politely decline. They have also stated that they will provide these servers until Blizzard take 'real action' on providing their own legacy servers. Therefore it's fair to say that unless Blizzard confirm that they are working on, or going to provide vanilla realms, these servers will stay online. Of course, it's easy to say that you'll rebuff any legal notice that might come if you haven't actually had one. If Blizzard do decide to act against Elysium, there is a chance that the people behind the project will shit a brick and do exactly what Nostalrius have done. So in essence, it's a gamble. But, if you want to play vanilla and have fun, then just do it. Sure you might lose a character or two, but ultimately, if you've had fun playing, then you've gained something from it. If you just decide you don't want to risk losing the character then you've also lost out on all the fun you could have had if you'd taken the opposite decision.

Nostalrius have just released a statement saying they are requesting Elysium stop using their data. Does that mean that if Elysium comply, my Nostalrius characters will cease to be? I'm a bit confused about the statement to be honest, I'm not 100% sure what they want. Apparently they have stopped the token system and are talking about Elysium now being a pirate server etc. What do you make of it? Statement is here http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45489

Are my Nost characters in danger?
JunkShop replied to JunkShop's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I'm the OP and wasn't talking about Rebirth at all. I suggest you re-read the post. Or probably don't bother because it's old news now, my chars aren't in danger because Elysium stepped up to the plate. -
Nostalrius does not speak for me
JunkShop replied to Yozo's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Judging by the backlash on their forums, they speak only for themselves. -
Absolutely agree. We as the player base have consistently demonstrated that we are committed to these servers, we've done our part, so if Blizzard want us to stop playing private servers, they need to give us an alternative. Legion is not an alternative, it's a completely different game altogether.
