They have twitter feed on their mainpage and you don't need a twitter acount for it. The last update is 7h, ago, the staff likely got some much needed rest. They show dedication and passion to the project, please show some respect and patience. Lots of people want to play. Being negative doesn't help anyone (including yourself).

They likely being DDOS'ed. Combined with the alleged number of people trying to log in, this creates stress on the log in server. Which effects, most, if not everybody. Test your patience. It's frustrating not being able to do something you looked foreward too, but it's likely not going to get better soon. Keep yourself busy with something else and check just every now and then.

Have you tried deleting your WBD file in the World of Warcraft folder? This sometimes causes issues, with logging in.

Go PvP realm do some wPvP while questing you can scare off the questing players of the opposing faction (or they scare off you!) Profit.

Account security is your responsibility. It's 2017, use common knowledge while on the internet. Don't use the same login credentials on different forums, websites or private servers.

Private servers are illegal and Elysium is in no way approved by Blizzard. Nostalrius handed Elysium Project their Database as a statement against Blizzard for not progressing their discussion etc. Remember: time spent enjoying is not time wasted, in my opinion.

I don't think it will be that drastic. Give it a month and the hype will probably die out a bit. Perhaps I am less concerned, because I play when it's not busy. In the long run I don't think it's worth the time and money (even with community support) too open a second fresh realm.

It does damage over time. By doing x damage every y seconds. That's a debuff to your health, in my opinion.

I rolled alliance on a another private server project. I hadn't played alliance in years and the levelling experience was refreshing and great. As for shaman vs. Paladin, both have pros and cons. Mostly comes down too personal opinion and preference.

That is not something I'd like to see. The mentality of this project is to keep it as blizzlike as possible, that means 1x rates, which a lot of the community likes. Bonus rates, even the 15% suggested, would undermine this mentality. Plus there will be the debate which zones, should recieve this boost. Leveling is part of the challenge which vanilla brings, even if it's crowded. I was always fond of the "healthy" competition between groups, trying to tag the mob. The population among zones will smooth out eventually.

Were the quests you completed green or gray in your quest log? Lower level quests grant less xp and reputation, I believe.
