  1. We hold out for a few days and don't give up hope immediately. We have to look at this server not in the hype it will generate, but it's long running ability to sustain. Even if we do manage to get 4k players at start, there is nothing to indicate we won't loose all or most of them in the long run leaving us with a server under 1k in players. The same holds true for a slow starting server, day one should be seen as just that, day one...and day two and day three will be just as important in the long run. If, after a few days, we are only a few hundred strong, then we will have to admit that Elysium isn't going to be trusted by the player-base, and move to the new upcoming server, Everyst when it releases... I also want to make note, that they are having a server stress test on Nov. 5th as well, meaning that they, being clean from all the drama, may pull a lot of the player-base on the 5th, but won't pull them on the 6th or 7th.

....honestly...I don't care about PVP gear...I just want to PVP in general...i'm happy with that, if we get the gear early, awesome...if not, i'm still going to pvp regardless.
  4. We all need to accept the fact that both sides screwed up, both sides did questionable things, and both sides need to make steps to correct those things. No matter what group you are part of, sticking your head in the sand and believe that one side did no wrong is not the way to go about things. At this point it's choosing a lesser evil, and waiting for the team to prove themselves... For now, i'm choosing Elysium, but if they fail to live up to their promises to do better in the future, I'll leave...plenty of new servers cropping up, so I don't have to commit to this server, if it proves to offer more problems and lacks a good community...but first I'm going to put the time and effort into this community and see if it can be made into something wonderful.
  5. I will only stay if the fresh server maintains itself well, and the community proves to be positive minded, and stable. If it fails to do this, I will be going to EVERYST in hopes of a stronger community. Obviously I hope the staff learned from their mistakes because it was an inconvenience on my end to not not be able to play, and being forced to sift through the drama to find non-drama related answers was a pain in my butt...and so I hope that this has been learned from and they won't repeat past mistakes. If they do, then sadly I will be forced to leave due to the fact that I just don't have the time or the energy to sift through this kind of lunacy again. But, for now, I look forward to the fresh server, and maintain high hopes that it will thrive.

But that'll be perfect to have it then....
  7. Both, but I will have my main on horde side.
  8. I will be playing two classes. My main character will be a mage. My secondary character, to simply play around on, will be a warrior. However, my mage comes first.

    Can we prevail?

I believe we can, but it will take effort from everyone. The community, the Elysium team, and even those from Light's Hope to put the past where it belongs, in the past. Continuing nonsensical fighting will only fragment the community and chase everyone away to other servers when they arrive. I do not believe we should forget the debacles that caused the split, and I do not believe we should sweep them under the rug, but I think that if we move forward having learned from all of this, we can co-exist as two very powerful communities in the WoW legacy realm space, and that's something worth respecting.
  10. No, I don't believe that using the "RP-PVP" tag is a good idea. Here's why: First of all, a lot of the arguments I'm seeing for the tag say that the rules for an RP-PVP server wouldn't be enforced. I believe this negates the entire reason why the "RP" part of the tag would even need to be there in the first place. A person knows exactly what they are getting into when they log into a PVP server. We know the rules, and the expectations. However, an RP-PVP server lacking these rules means that we, as players won't know the expectations. New players coming in won't know that the RP part of the rules won't be enforced. If they're expecting that, they will be sorely disappointed. However, on the other side of that argument, if they are enforced, players how don't RP will be less inclined to play on the server. Secondly, the argument can be made that RP'ers can simply make guilds and join together without the RP tag. I do realize some of them may feel marginalized without the tag, however, Elysium is already standing on a very slippery slope. We need to appeal to the largest player-base possible at this point in time. It may not be the best solution, but, I believe that the blanket PVP statement does that perfectly. Role-players will still be on the server, just as they have always been, and we know they will seek out other players, and have meaningful role-play just as they have always done. History proves this time and time again. Thirdly, having an "RP-PVP" is uncharted territory. We don't know how popular it will truly be. Right now, it's best for the staff of Elysium to play it safe. At least two, possibly three new Vanilla servers will be coming out by the end of the year this year. It would be best not to chase off one community or the other as best as we can. Playing it safe is the key for now. Redeeming the Elysium name should come first...and then, if we see an overflow, then an RP-PVP server can, and should be added to appeal to even more players, and welcome niche audiences. In closing, I'm not saying an RP-PVP server shouldn't happen in the future...perhaps even near future depending on how things move forward...all I'm saying is that RP-PVP is not the best idea for now, and we should wait on it.
